Clear filters Lakes stay
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 All in all a nice site and well run, the warden was great. There's a nice hotel for food and drinks a short walk away, but not much else. You would need transport for getting out and about, nice spot next to Lancaster canal, visited Kendal and Windermere and really enjoyed it.

With everyone coming to me already having their own transport (campervan, motorhome, caravan tow car etc), people are easily able to get around and about, usually to the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales that are both 20 mins from me. For the folk who want to give driving a break, there is a bus service that operates 200 yards from the site.
Enjoy your travels and hopefully I'll be able to host you again.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 It's such a lovely campsite. Outstanding facilities. Canal across the road with lovely walks, pub nearby with fabulous food. Location great for the Lakes or Yorkshire, owners super friendly, 100% would return.

Excellent site, very friendly, well run and managed, with great facilities. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Brilliant site, very friendly, best loos and showers I have seen on any site. Well worth the 20p for a shower, a nice location and a nice walk along the canal. The hotel was just 2 mins away. Will definitely be back

Perfect stopover site
Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 We picked Little Acre for its close location to M6 junction 36 as a stopover enroute to Scotland.
Not only was it very convenient, it was a perfect spot, next to a beautiful canal with a pub across the road. The facilities were great, clean, smelled lovely with little extra thoughtful toiletries included. A level gravel pitch with electric & water, the Elsan & grey water point was clean.
Really friendly host who was so helpful too. Thank you, we will definitely return & recommend to others!

Ability to 'dump' the grey water would be good.

We're trying to organise a place to "dump" grey water - however the siting of the septic tanks and the routing of the drain network to them is making it a very difficult task!

Lovely site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Lovely site, my friend who lives local to the site recommended it to me.
It gives access to many areas of the Lake District less than 45 mins away. Crooklands hotel is great for food and 2mins walk from the site. Paul is on hand if you need and help.

Great stop over whilst travelling to Scotland

Will use it again when we travel to Scotland.

Thank you for staying with us recently and we'd love to host you again when your are travelling to/from Scotland.
We used to have "free showers", but had a lot of instances where people were taking 15 min + showers, which was unfair on other people who were waiting to use them, plus consumed 150lt hot water at a time, which sometimes meant that we couldn't replenish the hot water for everyone else to use. Since reintroducing the 20p for 3mins, we've improved the shower availability for people enormously and have not got close to running out of hot water. Also, we now provide complimentary luxury shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hairdryers for people to use.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Small Pitch May 2025 Not to far from Windermere, just a 20 minute drive.
Very peaceful with a nice pub over the road 2 minute walk.
Campsite was well maintained with very clean welfare.

Another lovely stay
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 I stay occasionally when visiting a friend in the area. It's a great site, location just off the M6, spotlessly clean and lovely canal walk and pub close by.
Booking is very easy on the listing and the welcome is friendly. Really can't fault this site.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Small Pitch May 2025 A really lovely campsite, got an email just before arrival with all relevant details. Showers are the best we've seen!
Only thing that stops it being full 5 stars is the closeness to other pitches. Wouldn't put us off staying again as the site is so nice.

A very relaxing site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 A great little site. Would highly recommend for a short stay. Improvement in the toilet/shower block would make this site a 5 star.
I would rather pay a little extra on the site price and have the showers as part of the camp facilities.

We've got 2 shower and loo blocks onsite. The larger of the 2 is new and was the furthest away from where you were staying. Last year, we stripped back the gents shower and loo block that was closest to you and totally refurbished it, and we are doing exactly the same to the ladies shower and loo block this coming Winter. For a while, the showers were free, but we found that some people were taking 1 5min showers which had the effect of delaying other people from using the facilities and depleting the available hot water supply.
A little while ago, we reintroduced the 20p for a 3 min shower, which immediately increased the shower availability for everyone. At the same time, we also started providing luxury shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and hairdryers, which has gone down very well with people.
Enjoy your travels and it would be lovely to host you again when the latest batch of improvements have been made.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 This site was a great find. We were able to book an extra night with ease.
Very friendly owners who care about the site and especially it's customers. Always had time for questions and know the area well.
Canal walks. Dog friendly.
Site itself very tidy. Facilities spotless each time I used them.
