Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Aug 2022 What an amazing place. Right in the countryside, with plenty of nice walks. Spotless campsite and owners were on hand for anything you need.
Ok Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Quiet Field) Aug 2022 Nice location, a 10 minute walk from Sedburgh.
Relaxed site over numerous fields, but quite a lot of sloping areas. We visited over a bank holiday weekend and there weren't enough facilities for the number of visitors. There were 2 showers for 100+ people, so we didn't bother queuing. We couldn't find anywhere to wash up. 2 toilets were out of use, so just portaloos, which were kept quite clean but inevitably smelly. I felt that the animal feeding was a bit underwhelming. Burgers sold were good quality but fairly pricy.
Not a bad site but a bit too busy for us.
Good stay but it is just a field Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Aug 2022 Stunning views and I liked that there was food stand. But the minimal facilities were very minimal and the portaloos were unusable as they did not seem to be emptied
Stunning place! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Aug 2022 Lovely place to camp
Beautiful setting, relaxed camping Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Aug 2022 Surrounded by beautiful scenery. Short walk to town and various entry points to river for a dip!
Liked the relaxed approach to check in/out/choose your pitch.
Website said porcelain toilets but these were taped closed - however, there were plentiful 'portaloos' dotted around the fields/close by for tents.
Overall, a lovely site in a fantastic location. We would stay again
Peaceful Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Aug 2022 Lovely few days away, will definitely stay again. The guys that ran it were lovely.
Very happy with our stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Aug 2022 Very relaxed atmosphere about the place. Easy to find a pitch and parking on a very tidy site which is nicely tucked away.
We pulled onto the site and saw the signs to find a pitch which we did easily. No one bothered us for the stay so I'm guessing they just go on the car registration. It was a nice clean site with plenty of space and very little noise as it was off the beaten track, but not too far off if you wanted to nip into town. I will be using the site again.
Disappointed Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Jul 2022 The views are beautiful but that's the only good bit in my opinion.
We were told the food van would be open from 5pm to 7pm and 7am to 9am, but it didn't open at all. There was nobody around to talk to and because the van should've been open, we didn't take any food etc. The van was also the place to buy wood and a grill to cook on and also to book breakfast and to feed the animals the next morning, none of this was available.
The toilet/shower block was built from wood and leaked when it rained, very poorly run. We were told the van wouldn't open if there were less than 15 campers but we counted 27, not a happy camper here and will not be returning.
Beautiful location in the Yorkshire Dales Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Jul 2022 Beautiful spot. Easy walk in to Sedbergh. Surrounded by amazing walks. Tidy campsite, wc and showers cleaned.
Good for the price but... Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Jul 2022 The campsite itself was well situated, but upon arrival it was very unclear where the 'secluded' section actually was. In the end, the secluded sections were not that secluded at all. We tried many times to no avail to contact the site owners (with the number they gave) but there was no answer. We spoke with other groups and they had the same problem - no communication.
The toilets were OK, but when flushed some of the toilet water would come out onto the floor... The showers were OK but I would advise that you wait a while til they are warm. The animal feeding was also only available during the last few days, as was the hot food van. I would ensure to bring a car with you, and fire pits are also not at every pitch.
For the price, the place is great, just expect a spot in a field with some toilets, running water and hot shower, but don't believe all these supposed extras.
