Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 If you're looking for a base to explore the Peak District, look no further! Mandale site is a great place to pitch up.
Quiet, friendly and close to Bakewell and surrounding places to visit. Also plenty of trails to walk, good facilities and helpful staff.
Excellent first start to our camping adventure Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 It was our first time camping as a family of 5. We loved it so much, we wanted to extend our stay, but didn't have enough clothes or food.
We liked that we could choose where we pitched. However, I think allocating spaces would have been better. When we arrived, there was a campervan next to us but (we believed) plenty of space between. After a few colourful words under their breath when they saw us, they moved to the other side. As newbie campers, we had no idea what we had done wrong and felt a bit awkward.
Otherwise, we had great time we are already planning our next stay ☺️

Great location with plenty of space Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 The site is well located, being close to several great trails and footpaths. The large camping fields mean there is plenty of space, with pleasant views over the surrounding hills. The large field in which I was based was on a slight incline which was fine in a campervan and must help with drainage during wet periods.
I appreciate some people are surprised that the use of hot water involves paying 20 pence pieces in to a meter but I didn't personally find this too much of an issue. The potwash room, toilets and other facilities were all clean.
