Amazing place

Fantastic place, staff are really friendly and helpful. The whole site was immaculate. Facilities are brilliant. Pitched up just next the river, so peaceful and amazing. Pub just across the road. Wonderful experience.

Fantastic campsite with excellent facilities

This was our first family camping trip and I'd done a lot of research beforehand as good clean facilities were a top priority. We found the campsite to be in a great location. 10min drive to Thor's Cave, 20min drive to Lud's church and 30 mins away from Matlock. The campsite was was kept immaculate! Their facilities look brand new and with a great added touch of music in the communal toilet/shower area was greatly appreciated especially by my son who's 13 - it's something he mentioned to me saying 'it's a really good idea having music in there' ! There was a really useful pot wash area again, all kept very clean. It also has washing machines/dryers although I didn't use them as only there for the weekend. I also noticed the campsite shop was well stocked and I was pleasantly surprised to see they are really well priced. I know some camps would hike up the prices just because it's a campsite shop but no, Bank House Farm have kept the prices more than fair! My check in/welcome was pleasant and informative, even given the WiFi password which again surprised me that it worked in the top field. There's a separate exercise field which had fixed goal posts which my son loved and it is also used for dogs to have some off lead time. There is a 10pm quiet time which was very much adhered to by all the other campers. The only thing I would say is if camping in the top field, be aware it's a little walk down a sloped hill to use the facilities, so coming back up might be a bit more difficult for older or less able visitors. But other than that this, it is the most perfect campsite and I think I'm now a bit spoilt for future trips elsewhere. We will 100% be returning to Bank House Farm for future adventures in the Peak District! Thank you for a wonderful camping experience!

Can't really find anything negative so book with confidence, pub across the road and some good walks.

Relaxing holiday

We had a fantastic time. The only flaw for us was that we were located next to a busy road, especially late at night and early morning. As the vehicles were going up a steep incline, they were in a lower gear and therefore very noisy.

Fabulous time reconnecting to the camping vibes

A few nights in a fabulous location, view from the top field was amazing. Wardens on site very friendly and helpful. Facilities clean and the food van was an added bonus, serving pizzas and then burgers on our second night.

Site recommended

Good location and facilities. Close access to Manifold track and Thor's Cave. Pub next to the site serves meals and breakfast. Hartington village is only a mile away with pubs and an Indian take away. Only downside was the busy road on hillside, so noisy lorries, also campsite is under a flight path and planes can be noisy.

Stunning views and excellent facilities

We will definitely return to this excellent campsite. So nice to have the shop on site and a lovely pub right outside the gates. There is also a café just down the road at Hulme end station centre selling good coffee and cakes. Shower block was modern and very clean. We did not have good weather and it was cold for August so it was great to use our firepit in the evenings You can buy the logs at the shop and hire a fire pit. We enjoyed walking up and down the bank, but would not suit everyone. Only downside for us was our pitch by the road, which was quite busy. Great holiday and value for money, loads to do in surrounding area.

Great campsite

Really lovely campsite. I stayed in the meadow field which was only a short walk to the facilities which were so clean and well maintained. Being able to hire a fire pit was great and the pizza truck arriving was perfect. The location of the pub is so handy and is very friendly with lovely food. Would totally recommend this place.

Was nice and very clean. Pizza night is recommended on a Saturday. Great overall.

Stunning campsite

Beautiful setting, all facilities at a high standard and everything you ever need is catered for. Fantastic walks and to top it off a great pub across the road.

Location

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay for one night. By the time we got there, it was around 3pm but we didn't actually need to leave the campsite. Motorhome was by the river, we bought a ball and two fishing nets from the on site shop to keep the boys entertained. They loved catching tiddlers in the manifold river and then went running around the huge field and hill (for dogs too). So, they had plenty of to keep them going the time we were there. I'd like to return to walk to Thor's Cave from the site, about an hour and half apparently. Lots of ducks waddling around looking for crumbs. It's a very nice place with the pub across the road from the entrance. I'd recommend this place.

Clean, convenient and fun

Friendly staff, clean facilities which are well maintained. Meadow field over the road is a 2/3 minute walk where we stayed in a tent. Amazing location close to many hiking trails around. Had a great time.

Dangerous road crossing for facilities

A lovely camp for staying in the main site, but a dangerous road for the facilities if staying in the camping field. Parking is also a clear issue. The site manager seems to get quite aggressive if you miss the one tiny sign stating where to park. Not an ideal place to camp with children! Quite unsafe!

Hi Chris, sorry to read you did not enjoy your stay, it clearly states when you book you need to cross the road to use the facilities but I am sorry you did not understand this. I am not sure what parking issue you had, we have not had any issues with parking and have clear signage to state where the parking is, as you can read from 99% of our reviews we get it right most of the time. Maybe next time book the main site Top Field and you will have a better experience, Kind Regards Wayne and the Team

Lovely calm site

Lovely site, facilities were excellent, clean, plenty of availability. It was a lovely, calm site, not too crowded, and I was able to paddle in the river as it was a very hot day. The pub over the road was a bonus, and little shop on site for anything I needed. Felt very safe for a lone female visitor.

Exceptional

Absolutely wonderful site. Our tent was situated on the top hill and wow what a spot...overlooked the whole site and had an amazing view. The facilities were brilliant and super clean, and the shop was so useful...even had marshmallows and skewers. I cannot recommend this site enough!

Pleasant break

Lovely spacious plot, clean and quiet campsite, everyone very helpful and respected each other. Nice pub grub and beers next door to the sight. Lovely walking to the manifold valley, which starts just up the road.
