This is a lovely campsite, I highly recommend

I stayed at this friendly campsite for 2 nights and I can highly recommend it.

Our stay

Lovely quiet site with a beautiful modern shower block. Owners and staff helpful and friendly. Loved our stay, lovely views and right on the Tarka Trail.

Quite location

Amazing location, really quite. Showers and toilets extremely clean.

Great location

A great location adjacent to the Tarka Trail, which is ideal for walking & cycling. The site has beautiful views over the estuary. We took a leisurely walk to Instow & enjoyed the views across the river to Appledore. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather, but the hard standing saved our stay!

Quiet

Booked this site because it’s right on Tarka Trail. Facilities good and clean, views across estuary great. Nothing here to entertain kids.

Lovely Tarka Trail Camping

We had a lovely, quiet time away. Excellent toilet/shower block. Lovely pitch and through their gate to get onto the Tarka Trail.

Very disappointed

No one to welcome us. I had to phone them to find out where our pitch was. Lack of information and no security gate. Hot water wasn't working. Very disappointing and will not recommend.

I missed you to greet in person afterwards, as you were, no doubt, exploring the Tarka Trail and surroundings. Hot water is continuously provided in our new showers and washing up room so I was very surprised to hear you couldn't access this. Thanks for staying at Tarka Trail Camping.

Lovely location

Great quiet site on the Tarka Trail, great facilities with showers and hot water and wash up area. Nice charging point for phones etc provided. Well worth bringing the bikes for the Tarka trail, all flat and good surface. Rides to either Bideford or to Croyde Bay.

Very good, l will go back

Very nice and clean campsite with friendly people. I would recommend visiting I will stay there again.

Well kept campsite

Well kept campsite, immaculate shower block and right by the Tarka Trail. Short walk to Instow beach, which is dog friendly, but the advice is not to go swimming due to poor water quality.

Lovely camping spot!

Lovely camping spot, right on the trail. Clean toilets and showers. Plenty of room per pitch which is a life saver. Very pleased with my stay. Thank you very much!

My stay August 2023

This is a lovely, small site with new toilet block. The couple who run the site keep very well and the toilet block was spotlessly clean.

Fantastic

A lovely and peaceful campsite with really good and clean facilities. A great starting point for Hartland and Exmoor and perfect for cycling fans. And let's not forget the Brewery next door - an absolute treasure 😁

Night's stay at Tarka Trail

The campsite was in a great location, loads of shops nearby if anything was needed, really quiet with amazing view. Facilities were unbelievably clean too!!

Wonderful campsite on the Tarka trail

Good size motorhome pitches with gravel wheel tracks for parking. New washroom facilities which were clean. We loved the brewery on site, really quirky & we got to meet other lovely people who were staying on site. The pizzas looked amazing. Would highly recommend this site.

Campground was very well maintained. Toilets and showers are excellent. Perfect location.

Not quite perfect

Well planned and executed flat field site with hard wheel-runs on grass pitches. But very exposed to this week's high winds. Facilities new & spotless but may be a bit crowded if the site was full and the showers need somewhere to put toiletries. Also, I feel they need somewhere to fill motorhome water tanks, could probably run on to the grass next to the only obvious tap, but it would soon get messy if everyone did it. Did not try the adjacent café/restaurant/brewery but it did look a bit jaded during our wet and windy stay. That said, a local we spoke to recommended it.

Lovely and quiet!

We spent 2 nights here. The site is lovely and quiet. The showers and toilets are brand new! There is a Tap Room open in the evening! We would recommend the beer and pizza, both reasonably priced. The site is located right alongside the Tarka Trail, great for a walk or bike ride.

Nice, quiet site with a good basic set up

Great place to stay, it could do with an area where dogs could be off lead. Shower and toilet facilities are really clean and of a really high standard.

Lovely spot, very clean washing and loo areas, nice and quiet.

Recently upgraded campsite

We found this campsite significantly exceeded our expectations. It's adjacent to the Tarka trail so no diversion for cyclists. There is a brand new very warm and top-quality shower and toilet block. There were some free USB charging points here too. However, some pitches include a caravan hook up if you want more electric. Overall this is an excellent site. There's even a small brewery on site, but has limited opening hours.

What a lovely site. One of the best I've stayed in. Efficient service, well organised, clean and a wonderful setting. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely site

It was a lovely small site, right next to the Tarka trail. The toilet and shower block was brand new, a full size mirror and additional hand driers are needed in the ladies block. There’s an on site bar, brewery and cafe, open in the evening. We didn’t use it as there for only one evening but looked nice. I didn’t see any bins/ recycling point but again only there a short time. No one in reception at all but everything worked so no problems.

Fab site on the Tarka Trail and close to Instow

Fab site still under development, great for bikers, walkers and dogs. A new shower and toilet block, a micro brewery and café on site! Shops, cafes, restaurants, beaches all close by- if you want to chill and relax, this is the place to be.
