Lovely stay

Campsite

This is by far one of the best campsites we have ever stayed in! The cleanliness and the facilities were amazing. The food provided at this campsites is to die for. We almost bought food here every night. It is perfect for a quiet time away and to really relax and enjoy your time. We will be coming here again.

Didn’t disappoint

Lovely, friendly, clean, great pitches with fabulous sea views, quiet at night, lovely coastal walks with stunning views. Lots to do around the local area.

Lovely campsite

The campsite is excellent with good sized pitches. The sea views from parts of the campsite are stunning. The facilities are kept very clean with plenty of hot water. The kids park was good but could probably do with a little bit of maintenance. The staff I met with were all friendly and always smiling. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced and the bar prices were probably akin to pub prices, with a great selection of drinks on offer. My only very small gripe was the music that could be heard from the next door wedding venue.

Perfect!

Just a brilliant site! Spent a week here after seeing the good reviews and was not disappointed. The site is within reach of various local attractions and places to visit with bus stops within a short walk. All the pitches were well proportioned and well kept. The on site facilities were clean and looked after, and having shower and toilet in each enclosed cubicle is perfect. The on site bar is well priced and the food on site was a bonus. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic campsite that quite possibly has it all

Stayed for a week for the last week of the summer holidays. We found the site to be one of the tidiest and cleanest sites we've ever stayed at. There are 4 toilets blocks and all are kept extremely clean. With the newest blocks having self contained cubicles with showers, toilets and sinks. The pitches cater for all shapes and sizes. There's a good mix of EHU and basic pitches. The pitches are well kept and well spaced. There is an onsite shop that stocks a little bit of everything. There's also hot food dinner options served everyday from the cabin and a horse trailer bar. These are cash only and extremely reasonably priced. There's so much for kids to do around site; a massive park located on an island with a stream around the perimeter. Football goals, badminton net/racquets, table tennis tables/bats and balls, mini snooker/pool tables, foosball. A covered TV area and seating near the bar. An enclosed dog field with stunning views out to sea. Weekend entertainment at the bar area. The most amazing pub at the end of a path next door to site. The old Sawmill Inn has a great atmosphere and delicious food. Fire pits to hire for your stay for £10 with a £10 returnable deposit and all logs/kindling and starter stuff also for sale at a reasonable price. There is so much to do nearby. On our stay we visited Watermouth Castle (within walking distance), Funder Island (In Woolacombe), Coombe Martin museum and beach, Watermouth Harbour and boat cafe (storm in a teacup), walked the tarka trail to Sandy Cove hotel for a drink with stunning views, Hele Bay (dog friendly beach), Milky Way Adventure Park (about an hour away, great for rainy days!), The Combes golf park (we played foot golf and foot pool). We also had a Tesco food delivery (to park entrance only). We will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic stay

We had a fantastic stay, a lovely campsite, staff are very friendly. Nice having the food & bar on site - thats a bonus. We will definitely return. Only one thing which would make site better is having individual toilets, only without being all with showers as well. Regards Alison & Barry

An absolute gem of a site

An exceptionally well-run family owned site on the beautiful North Devon coast. Friendly and accommodating staff team. Spacious Valley and Ocean view pitches. Clean and well maintained washing and shower facilities. Great provision for kids with games room (football and pool tables), ping pong tables, play areas for all ages and even a small football pitch with goals (be sure to cheer for Villa!). A very well-priced bar and varied food offer (think pizza, Mexican, Indian, chippy tea and loaded fries!) add to the charm. Close to Combe Martin, Hele Bay and Ilfracombe. Wonderful walks along the coast path and down to the nearby Watermouth Harbour. You may even see dolphins in the bay! Exceptionally dog friendly with a superb dog exercise area / field (with the best views!) Overall, a wonderful place to spend a relaxing family holiday.

Great stay!

Had a really lovely time, everything was excellent. Only mention would be to take cash as unfortunately, the food provider on site is, most of the time, cash only. We didn't bring any cards with us so couldn't try anything. Would be good if reception offered cashback! Thanks for a great stay. Would definitely come back!

Thank you for the kind words, really glad you enjoyed your stay. We take card for everything in the shop and reception, so no need for us to offer cash back - especially when we would be paying VAT and tax on it every time - we pay enough of that as it is!

Superb

This was our first time camping and it couldn't have been bettered. The pitch was an allocated pitch in the Valley which was very sheltered from the wind. All the facilities were excellent and we appreciated the provision of a large freezer to refreeze our ice blocks for our cool bag. The evening on-site food was good quality and reasonably priced. A very positive experience.

Great family campsite

We found the campsite to be excellent for families - very clean and quiet in the evenings. There was a great kids playground and great food and bar options each evening. The facilities of the campsite were good too - shop, launderette and kids cabin. The campsite itself was in a good location for exploring the local area and enjoying the natural, beautiful scenery.

Excellent campsite for all age groups

This site is right up there for a great family holiday bringing all age groups together. Staff are always on hand and very happy to help, nothing is too much trouble. Location is good to access Combe Martin and other local beaches as well as direct access to the South West coast. Buses stop directly outside the site very regularly and is a cost effective, especially with lack of parking in some of the small beaches. Brilliant bar, and food available on site and you can walk directly to the pub. We have nothing negative to say about this site, just pure enjoyment.

Lovely site & facilities

Our longest duration & furthest we have travelled so far & we loved it! The facilities were well thought out & a welcome change to what we have been used to. Care was taken to cater for all guests, there was plenty to keep kids entertained. The onsite food & bar on site were really good - try the pina colada! The location was great with easy access to walking routes & our pitch was very roomy with a sea view. Would love to return for another stay!

Wonderful stay

Went last year and re booked. Friendly staff, good facilities and ideal for a getaway depending on what you want. We find this suits all our needs, food and drink available on site and good area for walks. Beaches not to far away, would recommend.

Fantastic week at Watermouth

Lovely little site right next to the harbour, great facilities, food and bar. We had a valley pitch which was great for the hot weather as we were shaded from mid afternoon. Bus service runs from right outside the campsite and the coastal path is also accessible from site. Will visit again.

Amazing site

The location is fantastic great views and walks to the sea in every direction. Really nice non commercial site that puts food and a bar on each day with a nice friendly atmosphere.

We had a fantastic time at Watermouth valley. A great spot with beautiful views. The facilities were brilliant and the different food options everyday were superb. Would return and recommend to friends.

A gem of a campsite

As seasoned campers and wardens ourselves it's a pleasant surprise to find such a gem. Friendly and super efficient hosts, spotless facilities, incredible views, super little bar with reasonably priced cocktails, food served nightly, live music some nights and plenty for the kids to do. The shop is well stocked and fire pits are to hire or buy. An all round lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
