Clear filters Very good except a bin lorry going round at 6am! Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come back again.
Only downside was the bins being emptied at 6am! We were on the pitch opposite the bins so the noise of the lorry woke us all up, including our baby and toddler. I'm not sure why this couldn't be done at a more sociable hour!
Great site and location Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Site was clean and tidy with the shower blocks cleaned regularly. Prices were very reasonable and food a good standard (you must try the milkshakes) loads of space for the dogs to roam with the forest a short walk away.
Fantastic site Recommends site
Small Tent - Electric Gravel Tent and Campervan Pitches Apr 2025 Had a lovely stay here, everything was great.
The only problem was the toilets. They were miles from the field we were in, which was fine in the day time, but not during the night. They were also in a terrible state most of the time, so an inspection later in the day would be a suggestion.
Apart from that, everything was great and would stay again.
Excellent family holiday - three teenagers & a happy puppy! Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Beautiful location and spacious pitches. Very peaceful and excellent. Swimming pool staff generally very friendly and helpful.
Lovely location and facilities Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Lovely location and good facilities.

Glamping Pod - Mega Glamping Pods Mar 2025 Clean, peaceful break. Would recommend and will return.
An amazing stay! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2025 Cannot believe we haven’t visited sooner!
Stayed as a couple for a last minute break, the site was easy to find and staff were incredibly helpful upon arrival. Site is well-organised and easy to navigate, all facilities are incredibly well kept and modern. All staff were helpful and very friendly throughout our stay.
The on-site shop has everything you might need. The restaurant served great meals at reasonable prices and a wide range of drinks too. We didn’t stay with children but the provisions for all age groups were fantastic, lots of activities that suited adults too. A really family and pet friendly site!
The weather was mixed throughout our stay but made no difference as there were plenty of things to do both indoors and outdoors.
Already raved about the site to friends and family, and will definitely be returning soon.
School break Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2025 Stayed at this site with my grandson as its not too far from home.
The location is lovely, with forest all around and plenty to entertain children. Short drive in to the main town of Coleford with shops, pubs and restaurants. You have everything you need on site too with a small well stocked shop, restaurant which serves lovely food, bar, terraces to sit outside, a indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
There are 2 playparks, one for older children and one for the younger ones where you can sit on the terrace to watch them play. There's archery, mini golf, a football pitch and plenty of space to run around. The facilities block for campers was clean. Showers were good and building was warm.
All the staff were lovely and friendly while being very professional. Personally, I find it a bit expensive, but you do get a lot for your money. I would stay here again but only in low season.
Great and busy stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2025 Good location with a lovely pub 10min walk away, lots to do and good open grass areas. The showers and changing rooms in the pool could be better and cleaner but the pool itself was lovely.
Good timetable to activities and the mini gold is good.
Lovely forest location with great facilities Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2025 Clean and tidy site, with a great selection of mixed accommodation and great facilities.
A lovely heated swimming pool with a jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath. There was good access to the forest trails for walking or cycling.
Luxury! Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Feb 2025 Amazing stay! Great facilities, love the gym and spa.
Amazing Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jan 2025 Amazing experience for our first time in our own caravan. Loads to do, great, friendly people.
What a lovely site Recommends site
Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Dec 2024 What a gem of a site, absolutely loved it.
Fantastic stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Nov 2024 Beautiful park, wonderful facilities and a brilliant location.
Excellent value for money Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Oct 2024 Absolutely loved this site, we wished we could have stayed longer but already had other sites booked. Would 100% visit again.
The entertainment at night was fab for kids and on par with a holiday park. Disco, bingo and a family quiz. Food was lovely in the restaurant. There is a pool but as we only stayed 1 night, we didn't get chance to use it. Lovely walk in the forest, great facilities for children.
Fantastic Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Gravel Tent and Campervan Pitches Oct 2024 This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. Everything is so clean, toilets and shower blocks are very well serviced. The grounds are beautiful and the surrounding forest is stunning and great for walking our dogs.
Campsite is also dog friendly. The perfect get away.
October getaway! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Gravel Tent and Campervan Pitches Oct 2024 What a lovely holiday park, its well laid out, plenty of space, the pitches are huge and you are surrounded by trees and greenery.
The facilities are excellent, fairly new I guess with a modern look & feel. The activities are great, plenty to do and see. We hired bikes from the campsite and cycled a 14-mile loop through the Forest of Dean, it's also prime location for Go Ape and the Forest of Dean Railway. Not sure how it will look & feel in the heart of summer when its full, but I'm hoping its spacious enough not to feel crowded.
The food was excellent and the service good. The entertainment was just right for us and they offer themed evenings/weekends with entertainment. The toilets, showers and general site was very clean and tidy.
A little gem of a campsite!
Nice site Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 It was a nice site with plenty to do, but the roads to and from Monmouth were narrow and winding, so not the best caravan towing road, I am new to towing and I managed.
Some of the pitches do need a really long power lead, we were told they changed some pitch layout/positions but haven't moved the power points. They did lend me an extra lead to use for extension.
The shower block was nice and clean, the food was lovely from the restaurant (a little over priced) and the terrace is dog friendly. We had the dogs with us so did not try any of the leisure facilities, but the people we spoke to said it was good.
There was direct access in to the Forest of Dean, so plenty of walking options.
Great venue to switch off Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2024 The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable - always super polite. Loved the swimming pool - warm, clean, not overcrowded, also had lifeguards, a welcome surprise that's included in the price.
The shop was very small but has been very well thought out in terms of type of stock (common sense items) and prices. Toilets and bars were clean and managed well.
Plenty of walks, steam railway, biking available. The only thing that was a nightmare was the site Wi-Fi which only worked a fraction of the time, which may be a problem unless sorted. They are trying to sort it out and improve it, but I struggled to do any work or keep in contact with the outside world. I would worry if there was a medical emergency to raise an alarm.
Lovely site Recommends site
Camping Pod - Mega Glamping Pods Aug 2024 Stayed in a lovely quirky "hobbit house". Chose one with a toilet and shower and well worth paying extra for that.
Good location for day trips in the local area.
Great stay! Recommends site
Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 Amazing site, we have had a wonderful four day break. The facilities were excellent and staff were friendly. The facilities are managed well and the site is maintained well.
Can't complain about anything. We will most certainly be back!
Camping Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Gravel Tent and Campervan Pitches Aug 2024 This campsite was perfect for what we wanted and booked last minute.
Although the site is aimed at younger children, my teenage children enjoyed walking around the area and used the swimming pool and not needing to go with an adult was perfect for me. It felt completely safe even in the evening.
Can't wait to go back and try the lodges.
Friendly Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 Enjoyed our stay with grandson.
Excellent, family friendly, fun Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Gravel Tent and Campervan Pitches Jul 2024 This site is fantastic. There is so much to do on site and plenty to do locally too. The location is wonderful and you can wander straight into woodland. Great if you have a dog and there are dog wash spots/stations too. There are also bike wash stations. Great cycle friendly site-recommended to take a bike lock.
There is plenty to do to keep little ones entertained; this can be done on a budget easily or there are lots of 'add ons' that you can indulge in should you wish to. There is a wide range of activities on offer and there's evening entertainment on offer should you wish to indulge/partake. A great timetable for you to have a look at and guide you through various options.
Camping spots are generous and there are lots of friendly staff on hand to support. Picnic areas, BBQ bricks, well resourced additional extras. Everything is well maintained. Only negative was a lack of hair dryers. If you plan to use the pool, bring 20p for the dryers and £1 for the lockers.
A quality campsite that we shall return to and we are people who always endeavour to try new places and don't make returns in a bid to explore a little more. This will be the exception.
Thank you Whitemead for a wonderful stay.
Nice enough, staff could be friendlier Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2024 We had a great time. It's a stunning location and you can cycle easily on to the FoD cycle trails and to the cycle centre.
The swimming pool was nice enough - surprisingly murky under water when you wear goggles! It's 1.2m across the whole pool, with a very small shallow (0.6m) pool attached. 1.2m is a bit hard for kids who can swim enough not to want to wear armbands, but aren't tall enough to touch the bottom.
Bar staff were very unfriendly when ordering food/drinks. They were more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. The food is poor, especially considering it's quite expensive. My £15 burger came already cut through the middle was poor. The "street food" was better quality and better value than the meals.
It's is a lovely location though and we would definitely go back - but we'd be cooking for ourselves or going out to eat elsewhere.
Wi-Fi was non-existent most of the time. Although it showed that you were "connected", we couldn't even send/receive basic emails or WhatsApp messages.
