Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

The park was pretty, lots to do for kids, good facilities and a fun atmosphere. However, it was difficult to find a pitch as the ground was very uneven in some parts and there was noise well into the night, including an open air gig nearby that was loud. If you're looking for a busy, family friendly site with lots to do for the kids, open fires etc, this place is great. If you're looking for a tranquil setting with more space, then perhaps another site would be better.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

Great sight, friendly welcome and good instructions of where you can pitch. We were treated by Zak who was very friendly. Loos were always clean a d showers a good temperature. Everyone we met staff and visitors all friendly. Great walk around the lake with lovely scenery. The shop prices were reasonable. My only moan was we were low on camping gas but there was no where on sight to buy any which meant a drive out which we did t want to do. Maybe something to think about, just a few necessary camping supplies. I have already recommended a d would stay again

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

Nice camp site for families, big play area etc. We however had a very bad experience last night with a couple arguing with each other all night, keeping everyone up and getting angry with one another. My children were a little scared. Speaking to another camper, apparently this happened the previous night well, so not sure why they were not sent away. No security on site to deal with the issue. Other issue was that there was a large event taking place, the main entrance closed at 6pm, then you have to use the after hours entrance which is basically the exit. It's one in/out and I had to wait over 20 mins for a break in cars to get in. If they have large events no idea why they shut the main gate or don't have someone on the exit to control it. Nice site, but needs better security and traffic management.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

Great country park location, friendly and helpful attendants. Lots of activities for families. We walked to the Stanmore tube station on our way to Wembley ( 3.5 miles approximately) the public toilets near the park entrance were modern and very clean but the porta-toilets and shower huts in the camping field were not for me. We would return but not for more than one night.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

My daughter wanted a famous five/ Swallows and Amazon's style camping break for her first time camping. Aldenham delivered on all of it! Fun nature walks, skimming stones on the reservoir and a lovely onsite cafe for cakes. Would definitely come again. Thank you to all the staff that made it a wonderful stay.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

A really good place to stay my daughter. We were going to Wembley (30 mins away driving, train station is quicker) so we camped here in our transporter. It was really good value, didn't use any facilities apart from the toilet as we just slept. It was quiet and we had a code to enter after closing, which was perfect. The staff were friendly and the toilets very clean, I would stay again.

Wonderful park with all the facilities you would expect, the only exception is there is no flushing toilets within easy walking distance of the campground, only porta-loos.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2023

Definitely one of the best within the M25. Some great woodland. Better access road though. Car bottomed out on the dirt road in. Cheaper than a hotel. Bit smoky, but fairly peaceful and quiet.

Great place

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2023

Lovely campsite with two options for camping field, with trees and shade or open and sunny. The farm is a plus, especially for families with little kids. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I recommend.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Not sure how many times I've been to Aldenham, yes, it's really great to stay there. It still truly feels as if you are indeed camping wild, but then there are showers (and they are warm, which is rather nice) in wooden cabins, and there are clean toilets etc. It's as close to wild camping as one can get this close to London, I am sure. Only pity is that they are not open that much, because otherwise I'd go more. Also, note that the grounds are way larger than the camping ground itself and there is a sizable lake just adjacent, with a great walking path. Further, a bit of a tip: in their farm shop, the sausages are unlike any other you will have eaten. I literally don't know where in London I could get comparable quality (and I just bought some).

Could be better!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

We had fun camping with friends this weekend but we were disappointed with the facilities on site for the price we paid. It is basically a few fields with some portacabin toilets (which were really smelly and fairly run down), 2 showers in sheds (per field) and 1 (cold water only) sink for washing up, outside too. Glamping field the same and no lights on in the toilets at night. I don't think you'd want to be visiting if the weather wasn't that good. One shower was not very powerful and the other was better but went cold when people were washing up in the nearby sink. Not ideal! There is a lovely reservoir and woods and trampolines, small animal farm (which we didn't visit) crazy golf and playground - all had to be paid for! Amazing café (owned separately and not associated with the park and camping) Rustic Rubarb run by a fabulous and welcoming couple Darren and Emma. We ate there everyday! We paid for recycling but there was no recycling points - it all went in one area and taken away by tractor. Noisy road next to the site and surrounding area. We stayed in the further field on the far side to the road and it was okay. All in all we had a nice weekend but unlikely to return for these reasons.

Site's response

Thanks for visiting the park to camp recently, we appreciate you taking time to share your view and are sorry to hear you didn't rate our campsite as value for money. We do offer wild camping, we try to put across fairly what we offer in terms of temporary field facilities in terms of showers and toilets and respect these might no be deemed satisfactory amongst some visitors. By nature these can smell especially in the hotter periods however we do conduct a regular cleaning regime. The additional, you mention across the park are offered as separate chargeable activities and clearly not presented as part of the camping booking. Clearly we missed the mark meeting your expectation and take this squarely on the chin.
