Very relaxing stay

Very nice site, simple - just open fields, but good ground for tents. Cracking views, very tidy facilities with good hot water.

Nice campsite, great showers

Nice place to stay with great showers. Didn't manage to get hold of anyone whilst I was there, despite signs asking me to contact the telephone number before pitching up. As I'd paid online already, I just stayed the night and left again in the morning.

Friendly, clean site

Lovely, clean site, a little noisy because of the road next to it (motorbikes racing all night) weather let us down but overall, a lovely family stay.

We liked it a lot

Lovely place. Firepit rental was lovely - it's £15 with wood and all you need, would have been good to know the price before we arrived. Lovely people, not intrusive, good facilities. Spacious fields and wonderful times.

Beautiful well kept

Clean, tidy. Well kept site. Lots of space. Also very helpful. Easy to find with great views. Excellent showers.

Idyllic campsite

Lovely campsite with views over Pendle Hill. Friendly staff, plenty of space to choose from to pitch. Quiet at night.

Plenty of space, brilliant hosts

We stayed for 3 nights with friends and had a great time. The weather was pretty grim and so we couldn't get up to much, but there was plenty of room for the kids to play around. It was quite busy one of the nights with noise being a bit more than we'd expected, but not sure that much could have been done about that. The facilities were cleaned throughout the day, which was great. The showers were hot although a bit draughty! (Some quite large gaps around the doors of the cubicles!) We were able to hire a fire pit, they drove about the site on a buggy in the evening so if you needed any more logs they deliver them right to your tent. It would be brilliant if the loos actually showed 'occupied' or similar when they're locked to avoid having to try doors or have someone trying the door whilst you're using the cubical. It was a great weekend overall and we could go back.

The best family weekend

Had the best weekend stay here, the kids absolutely loved it. The facilities were amazing, with showers, communal fridge/freezers and a place to wash any pots/pans. It was clean and tidy toilets also.

Overnight stay

Campsite was lovely, views stunning. Facilities were clean and well kept. Greeted by the very friendly owner who explained everything and even delivered a firepit to us. We had a dog with us who was kept on a lead as it stated. Just a pity other dog owners allowed theirs to be unleashed and allowed to annoy others.

Brilliant

Absolutely brilliant site, couldn't fault. We walked to one of the recommended pubs which was nice and very convenient and then just enjoyed the wonderful views.

Amy is lovely and the campsite is beautiful and clean

Rustic and clean. Very small facilities, yet enough and has a fridge available to use too. I really enjoyed the showers in a horse box, lovely hot water and the shower had a lot of pressure. So nice to be allowed a fire pit which came with everything you need for a lovely night sat out. I would highly recommend.

Great site

Great site, with fantastic views, facilities and friendly cows! We stayed at the site for one night and it was fantastic. The views across the valley are stunning and the facilities are great. The showers are really cool as they are in old sheep trailers, which have a boiler plumbed in so they are nice and warm. The site is easy to find and well located, Amy contacted us ahead of time to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible and met us on arrival to familiarise us with the site. We booked a table at the Alma Inn, which is a short walk across a field and the food and service was great also. On the walk over to the Alma the cows came over to say hello and a quick pat on the nose. We will certainly be coming back before the summer is out!

Lovely views

We stayed 2 nights on a bank holiday weekend, fairly busy at first but the wet weather saw people pack up early.# Due to the rain, we had to park on the track just a short walk from the tent (about 50 yards). The ground was pretty saturated so there were some muddy shoes around. Toilets and showers were clean and comfy, and the communal fridge was a great thought! Plenty of space for kids to play, very family and dog friendly. 3 pubs serving good food a 20 min walk away and some beautiful countryside to explore.

Super stay at Shay

I love this site. The owners are so welcoming and helpful. The site is hilly but I was sited on a reasonably flat pitch which my levellers sorted. The facilities are quirky but once you work out what works for you, they're fine. Fab showers lacking places to put your stuff but with 2 hooks and over the door to use, it works ok. I liked that I was in a separate camper section. It was a bit quieter, albeit I don't mind hearing kids having fun on a bank holiday. Views are fab. Grass is in great condition. I love it.

Amazing campsite

Had a lovely stay. Toilet & showers were very clean and very hot. The views amazing and lovely for walking. Would definitely stay there again. The shops are only 8 min drive away.

Almost perfect

The site was not what I expected, it was much more. The facilities are close by for all camping there, the grass was kept low and healthy. The young lady, who worked day and night to ensure all was well with her guests, was constantly cleaning up and making sure everyone was attended to. Very attentive lady. We only stayed 1 night to try out our new tent and had only just returned from a week away elsewhere. I would recommend this site and we will use it much more often as we are locals.

Great site with fantastic views

Great site with fantastic views. Facilities are basic, but adequate and kept clean. Lots of hot water via the combi boilers located in the trailers. I made the mistake of pitching next to the road, which is 60mph and can be very noisy. Overall good and would recommend.

Lovely site

This was our first time camping and we loved it. The campsite was lovely and facilities were clean. There were always people about if you needed anything/ask any questions. Will definitely return.
