VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2025 Lovely friendly basic site with everything you need. Pub food good. Great location for us to explore the area on our bikes. Lots of space for our VW & awning. All staff were helpful.
Would stay again Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Apr 2025 Have no complaints staying here, fabulous people, very friendly and the Sunday roast and pudding was delicious.
Would stay again.
Fab site! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Apr 2025 Stayed at the Waggon & Horses campsite which is located at the rear of the pub for a 3 night break. Fantastic grass field site with a few EHU. Grass is kept well cut & there is plenty of space. There are only a couple of toilets and 1 shower, but this really wasn't a problem for us at all. Extremely quiet site - the only noise to wake you up is the birdsong - bliss!
The pub itself it lovely and homely, and the owners and staff extremely friendly. Food is delicious, with excellent service and value. An ideal location for exploring the east Lincolnshire coast of England, without the buzz of being surrounded by lots of noise.
Would definitely recommend & will certainly be visiting again when we travel to that area.
A wonderful holiday Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Sep 2024 We have just returned from a stay at the Waggon and Horses. The shower facilities are a little basic, but both the shower and toilets are kept immaculately clean - the shower was lovely as you are able to select your own temperature setting and you don't get that very often.
Jean and her team in the pub are really welcoming and friendly. It is a lovely traditional pub and the food was excellent with large portions and very reasonable prices.
It is a very dog-friendly site and pub and we would be more than happy to visit again when in the area. Thank you, Jean.
Quite location. Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 Have been here many times, absolutely love it
Quite, peacful, good hot food in the pub,
lovely landlady, lovely polite staff, will be returning very soon.
Lovely place Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2024 I enjoyed my stay here even if the weather was against me.
Lovely place. Amazing pub with brilliant friendly staff and quality food.
Quiet retreat Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 Lovely quiet location in Lincolnshire. Small sheltered perimeters. Dog 🐕 friendly. Usual requirements keep it clean. Very basic loos and shower, but adequate. Just a wee nitpick maybe tile the loos and shower room.
Onto the pub, we did not cook apart from our breakfast. The food is great and reasonably priced. Large portions, very friendly staff. Would highly recommend this to camp residents or passers by. There were a lot of local people in the pub eating. Now that speaks volumes.
On that note, give it a look. Albeit a holiday or a stop-gap between your final destination. Local bus outside to Louth, Mablethorpe and Skegness. They run about every 1hr and are 2 quid. Dogs 🐕 are free.
Waggon and Horses weekend Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 The site is quite remote, not much to do for younger children.
There is a bus stop right outside the camp but the bus service isn't very good with no service at all on Sundays. The Waggon and Horses pub does very nice food and the staff are very welcoming but I was a bit disappointed that it shut at 5pm on Sunday.
Great budget campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 Great pitch, nice and flat, pretty basic facilities, but they were very clean. The Wagon and Horses pub was a great country pub serving excellent food, and the staff are very friendly. Jean, the owner, is a lovely lady. I would highly recommend a stay at this site. The site is situated close to the Lincolnshire Wolds and very near to the coast, overall a brilliant place, family- and pet-friendly and great value for money.
Solo camping Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2024 Nice location, friendly people.
Great place to relax Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Sep 2023 Great little spot. Very friendly landladies, traditional pub, great beer, great food and clean facilities. Great location for trips to Louth or Mablethorpe.
Pub lovely but site basic Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2023 Good and service in the pub was great, food was lovely. Good home cooked food at a reasonable price.
We felt the campsite however was poor. A small toilet block with no sink so the only facility to wash hands was the same sink other customers wash their pots. One shared shower which was not very clean when we were there. Paid £25, only paid a bit more at other sites which were much cleaner, modern and better value.
Peaceful but basic Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2023 Loved the space, flat pitch, friendly staff in pub. 2 toilets and one shower but don't have a shower if someone uses the taps outside or flushes the loo as it will stop running or go cold as it is all plumbed in the same system.
15 min drive to Mablethorpe beach and about same to Louth. Bus stop outside pub but only every couple of hours. Bit out of the way if no car.
All that we needed Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Sep 2022 Great little campsite that suited our needs perfectly. Would recommend!
What a great place! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Sep 2022 Had the best time here! Basic facilities but all you need! Lovely pub with great landlords! Very friendly, good food and decent sized pitches. We are definitely going back!
Great stay Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2022 Had a nice two nights at the Wagon and Horses. The grass was kept short and nice. The site has two toilets and a shower, but we didn't use these as we used our own motorhome facilities. Had nice meals in the pub on the Saturday night and Sunday lunch before we left too. The staff are very friendly. We will be back for another stay soon.
Great relaxed camping trip Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2022 Stay here for a couple of nights with family, the site is basic but it's great- very quiet and having a pub onsite was perfect!
The owners are lovely and made us feel very welcome an added bonus you can eat in the bar area if you have dogs, so nobody gets left out! The pub serves traditional pub food and the desserts are delicious.
We will be back again, it's a great place!
First stay Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2022 Pleasant enough, quiet site.
Super little campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2022 The camping field was lovely and flat suiting all campers. The staff in the pub were lovely and friendly, and the food was excellent.
The facilities need a little TLC, but I would still recommend this site and will stay again!
