About the site

Welcome to Norfolk's award-winning holiday destination, nestled in the picturesque Broads. The park is set in the beautiful surroundings of South Norfolk's Waveney Valley, with fabulous views across the Norfolk and Suffolk marshes and a wealth of onsite facilities. For campers, there are 14 pitches in the Bittern area and five pitches in the Moorhen area suitable for tents only. Bittern pitches measure 9.5m x 8m and come with a 16 amp electric hook up, Moorhen pitches are spacious with 16 amp electric hook ups and riverside views. Please note, Bittern and Moorhen pitches do not allow cars. Cars can park in the main car park or the small car park situated by the Bittern pitches, which is just a short walk to your pitch. Caravans and motorhomes can pick from a great range of pitches. The three electric grass Heron pitches measure 6m x 8.5m, set on a gentle slope. For a marina view, opt for the hardstanding Kingfisher pitches which are 7m x 9m with electric. The fully serviced pitches come with electric, water and grey waste connection. These also measure 7m x 9m and allow plenty of room for an awning. The Broads is one of Britain's magical waterways, England's largest wetland, with over 125 miles of safe, scenic waterways to explore. Your stay can include a perfect blend of boating, walking and relaxing. Be sure to also enjoy a dip in the onsite swimming pool and a bite to eat at the pub. Bring your canoes and kayaks and enjoy a relaxing paddle on the river, or you can take the ferry across to Suffolk and walk alongside the river, through Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve or into the nearby town of Oulton Broad. Guests can also enjoy a meal or a tipple at the Waveney Inn! Please note, a Broads Authority Toll is required for canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and similar equipment. The site also offers apartments and lodges.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Kingfisher Touring PitchesAug 2025

We had a great time, staff were helpful and friendly. Onsite Inn did fabulous food and was dog friendly, shop was well stocked. Great site for paddle boarding or kayaking. We found it very quiet, lovely to walk dogs along marina. Pool was great, though you did need to book your slot. Only issue is access is via narrow lane, though it has passing points.

Medium Tent - Electric Bittern Grass PitchesAug 2025

We have just returned from 3 nights camping. There are good and not so good things about it. The good things were we were pleased to get 3 pitches next to each other (we were 3 families), the kids really enjoyed the play park and hill they could bike/run down. Access to the river for paddle boarding was great. The onsite pub served decent enough food and was nice to mix up our stay with a meal there rather than BBQing each night. We were told we couldn't get the car up to the pitch which is true but thought we'd have to walk far to get all our bits to the pitch but actually, it isn't too far and some people did drive cars a bit closer; and there are trollies which are useful. However, it is worth noting the pitches are small and not directly opposite the play park so you couldn't see the kids while sitting in your tent. It would have been better to be on one field and tents surrounding as also didn't lend itself to group football/rounders games etc. I was told by husband that the games in the pub games rooms mainly didn't work, along with the pool table which was a shame. The swimming pool didn't have much to 'play' with; we brought our own balls, sinkies etc, It's quite small; don't expect a slide or a fountain. Would be good to provide some steps in the washing up area for little ones to get involved. All in all, we had a great time; the toilets were always well stocked and pretty clean; plenty of bins (only one main recycling bin, loads of landfill and one small food waste but there were food waste caddies in the washing up room). Perhaps some early evening entertainment for kids would be good to break up the afternoons (there was a jazz singer on the Saturday from 3pm, we didn't see him but he sounded pretty good!) Thanks for having us!

Great place to stay and explore

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

A great site for exploring the east side of Norfolk and Suffolk. Lots for children to do in a safe enclosed area e.g. playground and indoor pool. Restaurant and bar very nice and shop supplied all your basic needs while in a caravan or tent. Another plus was the ferry taking you over to the nature reserve. It was a shame that the hire boats weren't operating. The roads leading up to the site were narrow even with passing places so people just need to be careful going in and out.
