Not the best Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 I don't know if we were just lucky with all the other camping sites we visited over the last 3 weeks travelling the UK, but this was not worth the money.
Everything is very outdated, mould in the bathrooms, multiple dog messes near our pitch. We've been received very nicely and the location is pretty good, but this was not worth 33 pounds.
I absolutely don’t recommend this site. VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 I would not recommend this site to anyone. Our first instinct was to leave as soon as we arrived because of its chaotic nature and a very odd situation with an argument happening in the office between current and previous staff. Also, the quality of some of the facilities was poor, and there was an abysmal management of its rubbish, with a mound of plastic bags and no recycling.
But my key reason I would not recommend this site is my concerns for the wellbeing of a dog on site and the appropriateness of it being allowed to roam freely without a muzzle. It really was a traumatic experience.

Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 On arrival. We were met by the site manager, Martin, and Luka, his lovely sheepdog. Martin is an extremely helpful, chatty and friendly person whom we think is a great asset to this site. Super helpful and friendly persona, which is required for this type of business Entry is via a barrier with codes.
We were able to choose our own EHU pitch on this large site. Our stay was for 3 nights over an exceptionally busy bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately, the first 2 nights were not great only due to a very large group of rowdy campers who blasted music out and sang loudly late into the evening. They also rigged up very powerful, bright, glaring lights which are completely unsuitable and incompatible in a rural campsite. We felt we were in a stadium or holiday resort. These people clearly had no thought or consideration for other campers pitched close by.
Fortunately, they left the site one day prior to us, so our last night on the site was peaceful. The location of this site is very good, it's within close proximity to the River Trent. We enjoyed an afternoon drink at the nearby Bromley, watching the boats on the river. This pub had many campers visiting and enjoying the lovely scenery.
The pitches are flat, grass is very well maintained and there is a stunning large oak tree with some swings on it. The hedgerows provided shelter and were all well maintained. During our stay there was a mix of campers, caravans, tents and campervans. There is a very useful communal kitchen area with essentials provided 2 washing up sinks and also a fridge freezer and a kettle.
The rather outdated and very small toilet and shower block, although clean and providing essentials does require improvement and a significant upgrade. We overheard other campers saying the facilities look tired and worn, and there were long queues to use them. This actually lets the site down. Just insufficient for the size of the site, especially during busy periods. We would come back to the site again.
A lovely, peaceful and spacious campsite - very good value
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Stayed on an August evening and there were few other vans/tents - the campsite has a number of big fields, and it felt really nice and spacious.
Despite minimalist feel, there were 3 electric showers in the gents' which worked well and (despite other reviews) were entirely free, and a sociable little area to wash dishes/make coffee.
Really good value, with friendly (if slightly eccentric) host. Plus there are 3 pubs within a half-hour or so walk, two of which get really good reviews (the Bromley and the Moon), although be warned that the Bromley doesn't serve food on Mondays or Tuesdays, as I discovered.
Lovely campsite

Would definitely recommend. Hopefully be there again soon with my daughter and family.

Lovely friendly site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Stayed here to do a kayaking trip down the River Trent. The site is large and whilst lovely and quiet, pubs and shops are not far away at all.
The owners/staff are really friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. I found the electric showers a bit tricky to operate - either ridiculously hot, or really cold, but that may just be my age!
Really great value for money, and other places are twice the price. Definitely will visit again!
Friendly site great pitch
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 I got a warm welcome when I arrived. I was shown around the site and where amenities were. I was able to choose own pitch. Had a quiet area to my self.
My visit was in early July. My dog and I had a great stay. We sat outside till dark just enjoying the evening . As a solo person in a van I felt very safe. The site was clean tidy. Amenities toilets and showers close to hand and were clean and tidy. Use of a kitchen area with sinks and hot water.
I would highly recommend this site and will be booking again. The site is conveniently close to main routes but also in a lovely quiet picturesque village. There are lovely walks by the river.
Great site
Jul 2025 What a great site close to the Trent and Fiskerton for the Fiskofest. But more than anything, the warden, Martin, what a great guy. So friendly and welcoming, very polite and nothing is too much.
100% will be back and the local pub (10 mins) is great.

One night stopover
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Arrived to a friendly welcome from Martin, lovely big site and could choose where to pitch, toilet and showers basic but clean.
Great location close to river Trent with lovely walks and 10 mins to wagon and horses for beer.
Would recommend and will be back, Jo & Steve
Great spot and staff
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Great venue and run by great staff.
First time at this venue and not too far from home but definitely on the list to go back to. We pitched our van in the back field and it was very quiet. Toilet block was not too far and water points dotted all over (which was needed in the heatwave).
The camp is a walk away from the river Trent where you can walk along, also within distance of the local village pub.

Lovely quiet campsite near Trent for mid-week break
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2025 Stayed mid-week when weather was nice. It was very quiet and we pitched our tent in the middle of the field.
Very close to the Trent for a chilled walk down to Fiskerton for a pub lunch. Walk back down the back road not quite as quiet.
The team running the site were friendly and informative, telling us what we wanted to know about pubs and take-aways.
The facilities were basic but clean and functional.
We would probably go back again.

First camping trip
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 First ever camping trip and what can I say! Was made to feel so welcome by members of the team.
The owner Olive was very helpful and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Her right hand man (Martin?) went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable with local knowledge and advice if needed.
Should have checked out at 11 but as the site was quieter that day they allowed to stay longer at no extra charge.
Will definitely be back and looking to book our next trip soon.

Clean kitchen with fridge freezer is an added bonus with small children. Lofty makes you so welcome and is always on hand, he really makes the site!

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 Much travelled in our elderly motorhome, we found this site wonderfully relaxed and welcoming with no hassle. It is a lovely location and we liked the balance of the managers' attention to customer needs without being intrusive. It was a busy bank holiday weekend, but all seemed calm and cooperative with a good family feel.
Our only comment about improvement is that the toilet and shower provision is not enough for such a number of people. Perhaps time for a refurb? It was kept clean and provided with ample toilet roll. We couldn't find a recycling point.
Everyone I spoke to had appreciation for the site and it's sense of a more traditional way of camping rather than the increasingly commercialised sites. Excellent value for money. Good for children and dogs!

Only one comment was there was no water at the Elsan as the tap didn't work. We will definitely use this site again, cheers.
Great site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2024 Just a short walk to the Trent Valley way along the side of the river and a short drive into Newark. Other attractions close by also.
The hosts were very helpful and the facilities were spotless, hedgerows all round the site and a barrier with passcode for exit and entry.
I would and will be paying another visit.
