Best campground ever

Probably the best campground we have ever been to. Very friendly reception, hands down the best facilities you can ask for, spotless clean and well maintained.

Very small and very tidy site - facilities were great

Booked here last minute to stay on our travels back towards home needless to say, it hasn't disappointed. Was a small and well kept site, and by far the best value for money we had on our trip at £35 for the night. It's close enough to a small shop and pub, and site is right next to the river. The shower block looks like a brand new, purpose built unit with what can be described as under visual bathrooms. All round great site and host was more than helpful and was on hand even though we ended up arriving a little late due to traffic. Will definitely be staying again next time I'm in the area for a holiday.

Lovely spot at the end of NC500 for us

Convenient stop in a quiet location on way to Loch Mess via Black Isles. Our spot overlooked a pretty stream. Bathroom facilities were very clean and warm, which was a bonus after a few damp days.

Excellent campsite

Excellent campsite very clean well maintained and staff all very helpful. I would recommend this site to anyone. We only stayed the one night but would definitely use it for longer next time. The shower block is the best we have ever used on a site, all in one cubicle and spotlessly clean.

Excellent hosts, can't help you enough. All facilities spotless. Would highly recommend this site to everyone. Definitely coming back for a visit next year.

Outstanding

I only stopped for 1 night whilst doing the NC500. The site was easy to find, great location. All the facilities where immaculately clean and well presented, great value for money. Would highly recommend the site if your passing.

Great campsite!

Great campsite with everything you need, the shower facilities were immaculate as was the pot washing area. Gary on reception was incredibly helpful. There is a pub 5 minute walk away which you get a 10% discount if you mention the site as well as a CO OP village shop which is open until 10. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend

Of all the campsites we stayed at during our trip of the highlands, this was by far our favourite. The location is beautiful. I went to sleep with the sound of the river behind me. What makes this stand out though are the facilities. The shower block is made up of individual cubicles, each including a toilet, sink and shower. It was pristine! And the shower is just like one you'd have at home. No need to turn it back on every 30 seconds. We went up the road to the pub for dinner which did the job. It's a great site if you're passing through. And has a lovely walk you can do, whilst you're there.

Highly recommended this campsite facilities are excellent, clean toilets & showers. Staff very helpful would definitely use again.

Lovely campsite

Lovely campsite, clean shower nice and hot, and a lovely to see Black Rock Gorge. Lovely highly recommended, all facilities clean and in good working order. Pub and shop 3 min walk. Setting lovely and peaceful.

Amazing

We booked a pod for one night, travelling Scotland on motorbikes. Black Rock is an amazing camping site within beautiful forestry surroundings, with clean facilities and friendly staff. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Scotland.

Fab place

Lovely campsite next to river. Guy so friendly, showed us around, explained everything, then we get to the showers, what can I say? The best ever, stayed in hotels with worse showers spotlessly clean. Walk to local pub just 5 mins for food - perfect end to the NC500.

Lovely site, great amenities

This was our 1st time and we haven't found a nicer site. We received a warm and informative welcome, everything was easy to use, understand. Site was clean and well presented. Would liked to have had Wi-Fi, but not the end of the world as we were getting away from it all.

Excellent site

If you are considering doing the NC500, or even visiting Scotland, then I highly recommend booking Black Rock. There are local amenities with less than a 5 minute walk. The site facilities are very clean and of a high standard, the showers are the best I have used.

Lovely campsite

Lovely campsite, facilities very clean. Only downside that we found was that if you're slightly infirm or disabled, the only access that we could find to the toilets and showers was up 3 quite high steps.

Hi John, many thanks for your review. We noted that you had asked to be parked near to the facilities as possible which we did do on the day. It's a shame that you didn't highlight your concern over the steps to any of the members of staff because, from the pitch you were on, there is a fully ramped disabled facility some 30 feet behind you. Furthermore, we could have also moved you to the pitch directly behind you (which was vacant) making the facility a roads width away and we would of course have given you the key to gain access. We would love to welcome you back to the park and if you ask to be next to the disabled facility, we would of course arrange that for you.

Lovely little site with a beautiful walk. The gorge is amazing. Good shop nearby The manager was exceptional, very friendly and helpful

Beautiful site and quality facilities

As our first night stop on tour of Highlands, it was really pleasing to be welcomed so warmly after a long drive from Manchester. We called ahead as knew would miss the advertised check in times due to traffic. Gary, the site manager, was very friendly and allayed our fears as would be no problem. Had a lovely spot by the river. A short walk into the village saw us at the local pub which had a great selection of drinks. The shower block was certainly clean and probably the cleanest I have ever used. I would recommend anyone use this site.
