Great stay, lovely pitches and facilities- would stay again

Stayed for two nights, was given a choice of pitches which was nice! Great leaflet of walks and local attractions. Easy cycle or walk into Ellesmere and back! Good facilities, showers toilets and communal area. We'd stay again

Lovely campsite

Absolutely lovely camp/caravan site, the site itself is very scenic and tranquil in a quiet location. It has a lovely bar/dining area where residents can relax or eat, providing WiFi, a fridge, a heater, coffee machine, microwave etc. The showering and toilet facilities were very clean too. We only stayed for the one night but will definitely come back for more!!

Wonderful location

Once the initial confusion of our booking had been sorted, we were advised where to go. The field was not really set out into zones so we spent a while trying to find the best site where we wouldn't inconvenience our neighbours. I feel that it would be better if the plots were better marked out. The location itself is gorgeous and the facilities very good, we particularly liked the love shack which we didn't use but could see ourselves in there chatting to other campers. We would definately want to return

Amazing place!

Dave gave us an amazing welcome lots of local information and maps. Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil campsite. The mere is within walking distance of the site. With a short walk to the canal, beautiful surroundings. The site has loads of facilities with added extras, lovely and clean always tidy. Well worth a visit.

Excellent site, great amenities

This is our fourth time in the pods and they are really good value for money. Excellent place, especially if you have the weather. The only downside was that the TV signal is very poor to the point of unwatchable most of the time, it was the same last year, would not stop us from going again but be nice if it was sorted. Communal area really good to meet people, chill out and have a chat.

Beautiful site

Beautiful site in lovely countryside right near the lakes. Got everything you need to make you welcome. I will definitely go again, it's one of the best camping sites I've been to and love it.

Our stay

Really nice and clean site in a perfect, quiet location. It has clean toilets and showers, and a decent sized club house you can use to cook or relax. Dave is spot on as an owner, very helpful with anything you need. The hot tub is perfect, just could do with a couple of hooks to hang your clothes. Overall, a brilliant place to chill for the weekend. Would definitely return. P.S. Take your own food - the takeaways and restaurants near by aren't up to much but that's our own fault for not taking more food 😂

2 night stay

Great hospitality, a lovely location and great facilities. A nice layout with access to a lovely walk around the lake and many local locations to visit and explore.

Nice site

Warm welcome from David, lovely site in a beautiful location. Facilities a little basic but clean and water in showers was hot. Would definitely return.

What a lovely place to stay - highly recommended

We are very new to campervanning and what a great place to pick for our very first stay. We selected a non electric pitch as we wanted to experience how we would get along. The pitches were very separated so we got a view over trees and the hillside (plus horses!) There was a short walk to the very clean toilet and showering area. We could have used the communal fridge/cooking lodge with comfy chairs which did look inviting. There was plenty of walking to be had - we went to Elsmere and lunched at the Boathouse, but there was a good walk and pub in the opposite direction.

Lovely break

Loved this campsite. Ingrid showed us to our pitch. Heavy rain was expected so she put us where we would be more sheltered. We were given a map of the area. The location is fantastic. Lovely walk along the canal to Ellesmere. Went in the Vaults, quirky lovely bar. Ate at the Red Lion and the Boathouse, both really nice. Showers were clean and had a nice little dressing room. The best bit was the Social area, which was a life saver for us in a two man tent in the rain. Would return here next season.

Late to the party

Arrived late but was greeted by a friendly site manager who actually used my name when greeting me. Everything was explained to me and locations pointed out. A birthday party was in full swing and as I passed I was invited in. Very friendly people. Pitch location was lovely, cleanliness of the facilities was top notch.

Fabulous

Absolutely beautiful, fabulous hosts, very friendly, perfect location.

Pod stay for the first time

Having not stayed in a pod, we were unsure what to expect, on arrival, it exceeded our expectations. The place is beautiful, on arrival, the owners were very polite and accommodating, the pod was very good value for money, too cheap in our eyes! Amenities were perfect, especially the communal hut where we met some lovely people. We have just booked again, well worth a try. Overall, excellent stay!

Gem of a spot

Colemere is a beautiful little campsite with idyllic views, wish we had the chance to try the hot tub but work got in the way. I would highly recommend this gem of a spot if you are looking to relax and get away from it all, the views from the top of the hill were amazing and it was so dark star gazing of a night was incredible. At the end of the park there was a gate with direct access to the lake. The walk around took about 40 mins and was perfect for the dog walks. Wish they had a tuck shop or honesty box for wine bread milk chocolate that sort of thing. Clean and tidy, hope we get to return.

Lovely site, peaceful location

Lovely site, peaceful location. Large communal area/kitchen for social contact or to escape the elements. To make it even better, I would suggest the addition of private wash hand basins in ladies' toilet block. Proprietor helpful & friendly. Centred around a wildlife pond, this site is spacious with pitches on different levels, among hedges and hollows. It offers a chance of escape from bustle and noise. The communal/kitchen area has tables with bench seating & 2 comfortable sofas; there are few electric pitches but the kitchen has 2 fridges, a toaster, a microwave, kettle and power to charge your phone. Everything kept very clean.

Peaceful campsite

On arrival was greeted by the very cheerful owner, map and lots of information given re where to park, where to walk, eat etc. Pitches were of a good size, grass had been cut but in between the pitches was left the tall grass (not a problem) but lots of thistles and ragwort (toxic plant). Fresh water and rubbish bins provided, we were self contained so did not use the toilet or shower facilities but did take a look, all looked clean. Fire pit was allowed (raised). Would recommend.

Great campsite, very welcoming hosts

Beautiful campsite, very peaceful, good facilities, with lots of wildlife around. We loved our three nights here, generous pitches, very accommodating and helpful hosts. We especially liked the rabbits. The area itself has loads to do and see just a stone's throw from Colesmere itself, which is lovely and can be walked around in about 30 mins, and 45 mins along the canal towpath to Ellesmere. Heartily recommended, we hope to stay again.

Super-friendly hosts, beautiful site just a few steps from Colemere, immaculate facilities and options for socialising with other guests in lovely lounge/shared area. Will definitley be back. Thank you.

A beautiful treat of a place

Arrived to a friendly welcome from our hosts, who even helped guide us to the site when we got lost on the way! A real gem of a place - unassuming and much less formal than other sites I could mention. The facilities are clean and well kept and the site is wonderfully placed near the banks of the Colemere. The place has a beautiful large wildlife pond and is beautifully lit up at night. There are birds and bunnies aplenty. The communal area was so very smart and we could see ourselves there with a group of friends staying in the future. Nothing was too much trouble for Ingrid and Dave and the handy map was great. We were lucky with the weather too as even though we had arrived to showers of rain, we awoke the following morning to a bright blue sky which allowed for a walk around Colemere with our dogs, prior to an adventure to Shrewsbury. We took Dave's advice on Sunday and followed the canal path into Ellesmere and to a wonderful lunch at the Red Lion. We've just arrived home, feeling as though we are thoroughly refreshed and relaxed, even after driving the A55 on Bank holiday Monday. Another cherished memory for our motorhoming escapades! Highly recommended

We had a short break in this beautiful site. The peaceful nature of the site was so tranquil and just want we wanted. We had limited O2 phone signal but for us it was perfect to be away from the busy life we wanted peace from. We would definitely be returning there again.
