About the site

The site is an easy 15 - 20 minute drive from Shrewsbury and its great amenities or 20 minutes from Welshpool. It includes a lovely B&B which can rustle up a delicious brekkie for campers and glampers. Views are half the fun here, with red kites often spotted overhead, the river whispering by and a secluded country setting. Pitches are a back to nature affair for tents, on lush grass, or on hardstanding for tourers with electric supplied. If you're bringing the tent and you fancy a couple's break, there are adult only pitches to suit. Or, if you've got the kids in tow, try a family friendly spot. For glampers, cosy glamping lodges and pods are a perfect choice for four with heating and beds supplied, or there are bell tents with lovely fire pits for you to try, sleeping up to five. Dogs are welcome in pet friendly bell tents and on pitches but must be on leads at all times. Please note temporary portable toilets are being used as well as a toilet and shower block in the holiday let on site.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only)Aug 2025

Great location, very poor communication by the owners for lacking facilities. They had a fire in their shower area and toilets, we only found out after we arrived. Portaloos were available but I booked this site specifically because of the advertised facilities. The owners should have informed the guests of what had happened so we could look for alternative arrangements. Our whole bank holiday weekend holiday was spoilt. Until the facilities are back to normal, I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone unfortunately. We do appreciate the owners coming up to speak with us about this the next morning after we arrived.

Oddly run place

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Family Friendly)Aug 2025

Paid £90 for 2 nights! Prior to arrival, I emailed twice with a question but never received an answer! Once arrived, we were told that the shower block had burnt down a few days, before but we were never told about it prior to arrival! So the was one portable shower and four portable toilets for the whole site! The café/bar is a bit hit and miss, we wanted a cream tea but apparently they stop serving at 14:30 but we could have hot drinks and cake. So after going back to our tent and coming back the the café at 15:00, we asked for two lattes and cake, but the coffee machine had been turned off. Whilst we was there, a group of men arrived at 23:00 to set two tents up with the engines running and headlights on so they could see! This was on the family friendly field and made a noise until approximately 01:00.

Sadly disappointed

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Family Friendly)Aug 2025

Stayed with my 2 young grandchildren. We were directed to the family field, which is considerably smaller than the adult only field. As it was a busy weekend, there wasn't much room between 'camps'. So unfortunately, we were very close to a large family gathering, which kept getting bigger. The 'rules' state 'no noise after 10.30' but this isn't enforced so they were socialising loudly till 1am. Only 2 showers, toilets in the same bathroom, so not able to use if someone was showering (there is another separate one). Generally a nice place, but they seem to have added more accommodation without considering the facilities. I was looking for a short break bolt hole within an hour's drive from home to visit regularly, sadly, this won't be it.

Things to do on site and in the Shrewsbury area

Pack up a picnic and eat it in the garden, with views of the pretty River Severn - what a way to relax!

If you've a little 'get up and go' after that relaxation, pop to pretty Shrewsbury, a great jumping off point for the Shropshire Hills and an ideal place for a browse of the local shops.

With more than 210 miles to tempt your feet, the Severn Way is nice and close, or you can join the ancient Offa's Dyke Path - with the team offering a pick up or drop off for those with weary legs.

Cast your bait into the river and wait for a nibble or nip over to other fisheries, an easy 20 minutes away from the farm.
