Clear filters Perfect for Rye
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Great campsite, which is very convenient for Rye, either by bus or taxi.
Clean and quiet with all the facilities, including a pub just up the road.

Our first experience, what a gem
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Our first ever Campervan experience, what a hidden treasure. We have been to Rye so many times in the car or on motorbike. Stumbled upon this site and what a delight.
Great space between pitches, noise was not an issue, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Look forward to booking again.
Not too big, ticks all the boxes for all.
Wonderful maiden trip
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Without knowing it, we picked the most wonderful place to stay, everything about it is first class. There is something about the place that reminds me of my childhood caravan holidays, unspoiled and totally charming.
Great help and advice regarding local bridlepaths and walk. Beautifully quiet, spotlessly clean and brilliant services.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Great choice of pitches, clean facilities and so nice to have fabulous food within walking distance. The Horse and Cart pub and the pizza at Tillingham vineyard were both delicious!

Host very welcoming and friendly. Facilities very clean. Also excellent pub 10 minutes walk The Horse and Cart.
Will definitely return.
What a fantastic find
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 We stayed for just two nights but really look forward to visiting again. There is a little bell to ring as you arrive and you’ll be met with a smile and personally taken to your pitch, all pitches incidentally are large so you really can spread out a little.
The site was very clean and peaceful and washing up area best we have seen so far, 3 sinks/draining all covered with hot water and a few supplies for emergencies & cleaning your area after use, dog parking hook 😀, phone charging lockers (you will need your own plug & charging lead), DEFIBRILLATOR.
For those a little camp site/public place shy two of the toilets are located more discreetly not right next to someone else showering in a large block) as are two of the showers. All facilities constantly checked and cleaned.
This was a special little trip for us as first time camping with our daughter & son in-law since the arrival of our precious grandson so The Hare & Hounds will be somewhere we will definitely return to and it will hold special memories.

Fantastic stay
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 We really enjoyed our time at the campsite which was perfectly located and very clean and organised.
We were welcomed on arrival with an explanation of the site and where we could choose to pitch. The site was clean and very organised. As it was near the end of the season, it was fairly quiet, so we had the pick of the electric hook ups.
The facilities weren't far away and the washing up area was immaculately clean, as were the showers/toilets. On our first night, we had a quick 5 minute walk to the Oak, the nearest pub, which was great. The next day we had a beautiful 50 minute walk through fields into Rye.
A very enjoyable weekend, we couldn't have asked for a better campsite and I'm sure we will return again in the future.
Peaceful site for a break

Immaculate and peaceful site and facilities with the bonus of being able to hire a fire pit and wood on site (worth every penny).
The bike ride into Rye was not the easiest as it's hilly but it made the beer and bbq on return even better ;)

Great stay at Hare and Hounds
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 We really enjoyed staying at the Hare and Hounds. It's ideal for us, we love the area, there is a bus stop outside which takes you into town, from there you can jump on a train and go further afield with good public transport prices.
The Rye town is really nice, very quaint lots of small shops and great places to eat.
You also have Hastings nearby which is a great sea-side town.
We love this campsite for the pricing, it's convenience, the no music policy at all, & no excessive alcohol consumption. We're at that age where we go for the peace and quiet.
The facilities are spotlessly clean and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.
We will be returning!
The best site on our travels around the South East
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 An absolute gem of a place! Will definitely be returning when around the area again. The host is lovely very friendly and takes care to listen to your requests. Showers are great. There's nothing to not like about this campsite.

Spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful suggestions and relaxed advice from Harriet with thoughtful hand drawn map of how to walk into Hythe - just an example of the detail and forethought which has been put into the campsite - experience gained over 12 years of running it.
Can only recommend.

Great base to explore Rye
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 A choice of spacious pitches were offered on arrival.
Site had clean facilities & wash up area, use of fridge/freezer and microwave handy. A bit of road noise from time to time but to be expected as main road into Rye, pretty quiet at night though. Shower cubicles a bit snug but not too much of an issue.
Overall, good value for money.

Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 Well signed from the road. A lovely flat pitch. Excellent, clean and well set-up amenities. No noise from the busy road.
Very helpful lady, possibly the owner. A very quiet and enjoyable stay, would have been happy to stay longer.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 We had a wonderful stay at the Hare and Hounds. The location was great, a beautiful cross-country walk into Rye and a bus stop right outside meant that everywhere was very accessible.
The site is well-spaced out making it the perfect place to relax. The facilities were clean and well maintained. It had a quaint, family-run feel. The owners were friendly and helpful. We couldn't have wished for better. We'll definitely be back!
