About the site

This quiet, family friendly campsite is situated on a working farm, next door to a fascinating ancient Neolithic monument. Mature woodlands nearby provide a natural habitat for wildlife and, as well as awakening to a wonderful dawn chorus, with a little bit of fieldcraft and patience, you can expect to see red squirrels. As a former cricket ground, you are guaranteed a flat pitch as well as plenty of safe space for children to run around. There are a total of 30 non electric grass pitches and 7 electric grass pitches, each allowing tents and up to eight guests. For tourers, there are 9 hardstanding pitches with electric hook up. The site is located within five minutes of the A55 enabling access to most areas of the island within a twenty minute drive. There are also plenty of stunning beaches, including Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr, within 15 minutes of the site and you can be at the heart of Snowdonia (including Zip World) in less than an hour. Each pitch also comes with its own fire pit, perfect for evenings of toasting marshmallows. BBQs are also allowed so make sure you bring your chef's apron! This is a peaceful spot and the owners would like to keep it that way, so please be aware that the site must be quiet after 9:30pm. Please note, this is a dog free site.

Small Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

We stayed for 3 nights. After a little detour, finding the site entrance (tip-follow the sign for the shooting school on a tight left hand corner), we arrived and went to reception. Mark was there to greet us and advise where to pitch up. We had booked an electric hook up. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the electric, so we advised Mark. He went straight to work to find out what the cause was, trying different cables/power points. Still no joy, so he called out the electric company to investigate. All was resolved on the following day when a slug had been found to be the cause and the issue was resolved. Lots of 'sluggish electricity' jokes were made by my hubby upon finding the cause. The enforced digital detox was welcome, as was Mark's kind offer of firewood to make up for not having our first night of electric. There are a small number of family bathrooms on site, which have W.C., shower and sink in one. Very clean at all times - apart from some campers not having the decency to squeegee the floor after showering and leaving empty bottles (I threw them away and squeegeed them). There is also a separate toilet block which was opened when the site got busier. Also there's an area for dish washing and a small shop selling bit and bobs, wood, coffee, ice creams etc. All under cover for shelter in bad weather. Kept clean and tidy at all times. I can imagine things get a little tight when the site is full but we'd have no problem in staying again. If you want whistles and bells it may not be for you, but as a base it is a good site.
