Stay at Cae Du
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Great site all round. Only downside were the midges which made life quite uncomfortable, even in early June.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent and Campervan Pitches Jun 2025 Probably the best site I've stayed on!
The grounds and facilities were excellent and really well kept. The pitches had good access to electricity and drinking water. The WIFI worked well despite us being at the back end of the site. The ground was flat and took tent pegs really well - I didn't need a mallet.
The village of Beddlegert was only 10 walk away, where there are two or three options to eat out. Finally, the location is stunning - surrounded by mountains. I recommend taking insect repellent though - midges come out in the evening.

A decent campsite
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 A decent campsite, spoiled by not allowing me to keep my vehicle next to my tent, despite being shown that there is parking on every pitch.
The campsite itself was a fairly good site. However, we booked for a large tent pitch, and there was no mention of the option to upgrade to have your vehicle next to you or not have your vehicle. So it was assumed my vehicle would be with me. We checked in, and were given a site plan, which clearly stated that all pitches had your vehicle parked right next to your tent, with a diagram also showing this.
So we got to our pitch and did exactly that, set up our tent and had my vehicle next to it.
Several hours later, we were approached somewhat rudely by a member of staff, telling us we can't park our vehicle there and it must be moved. We weren't allowed to park it there as apparently, 4 weeks ago, the field they placed us on underwent maintenance, and they placed rocks around the field to stop cars going on. All fields had rocks outlining them and had cars on the field still?
We were told we had to move the car, and it had to be parked on the side of the road which was about 20 metres away. Normally this may not be such an inconvenience, but my vehicle is a small campervan, and has my cooker on board, has a pull out awning on board, and all my storage facilities, so this was in fact a real inconvenience.
We were not told prior to setting all our tent and equipment up that our pitch currently had restrictions.
We were not offered the chance to move to another field without these restrictions (throughout the weekend, the campsite appeared to be no more than 50% booked at a guess) there were plenty of other places they could have put us.
Besides this issue, the rest of the campsite was good. The facilities were plentiful, the location was very scenic and accessible (prepare for midges) and the site had Wi-Fi throughout as it is a no signal zone.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent and Campervan Pitches May 2025 The campsite itself is in such a beautiful setting.
The pitches are spacious, with enough privacy as much as a campsite allows and the staff working there are so proactive and friendly. It's really easy to rent a fire pit or deal with any problems you have.
The site itself is well signposted outside and within so you know where to go. The only downside is that we were quite far away from the facilities which, with bad weather, became a bit of an arduous task to go back and forth. It was fairly quiet when we went too but the facilities got quite busy so more showers and toilets wouldn't go amiss!
Other than that, we've had a great time and would highly recommend staying there.

Great campsite in a good location

Pitch size is generous and plenty space around the site. Facilities are clean and basic with nice hot showers. The site was quiet, even with it being half-term due to the wind and rain, so no problems with queuing for showers etc. But, if the site was full, not sure they would cope as only 5 showers in total for women and the same for the men.
Quite an expensive site but worth it for the size of pitch, lovely grounds of the site and it's location. Shame about the weather for our week but didn't stop us from doing lots of walks right from the campsite. We will be back!
Fantastic site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent and Campervan Pitches May 2025 Stayed two nights in a van with awning and EHU.
The site is well laid out and pitches are spacious. The wash block is clean and the shower cubicles are brilliant.
The views are simply stunning. The walk into Beddgelert is nice and a great walk. Easy access to the start of the Watkin Path up to Yr Wyddfa.
All-in-all a great time away.

The most amazing campsite
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Down a little track and camped up the hill for amazing views! Lots of space, compost toilets and sink area. Near a pub and can do great walks from site.
We originally booked Cae Du campsite for two nights but then amended and booked an extra day with ease with the booking staff. When we got to the site we were Blown away with the location and the views.
When we checked in the staff were so friendly and had booked us and our camper van on Crib Goch pitch which was the nicest spot on site right next to the river, it was so tranquil.
The site facilities were very close, clean and well maintained. The lovely village of Beddgelert was just a short walk away from the site but the site has its own little paths that take you to all different quieter lanes or foot paths to make it more enjoyable.
We were very sad leaving after our fantastic stay and can not wait to return again and again. Needs more than a 5 star rating 😁🚐❤️

Beautiful, relaxing, peaceful
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Tent and Campervan Pitches May 2025 We actually stayed for 3 nights at Cae Du.
It's in a really beautiful location and a peaceful one. Very close to Beddgelert. Just under a mile. The pitches are well spaced out so you are not sitting on your neighbour's door step, which can happen with some sites.
Facilities were excellent, it was great to have a lovely warm shower when you needed it. Toilets and showers always clean. Warm welcome at reception with lots of info. Available via staff and the information area. Please do visit, you will love it. We will be returning without doubt.

Perfect site in an amazing place!
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 We were so impressed with this site. We have stayed in other campsites nearby before and this one really stands out. The grounds are so well taken care of, the team are all lovely and attentive, and the location is just spot on. Short walk into the local town, great spots for a pint or bite to eat. Easy walk to get to the Watkins path for Snowdon!
Showers and toilets fab as well and absolutely spotless. We sadly had to leave early due to our tent ending up being much, much, much less water proof than anticipated (picture soggy pillows and sleeping bag) but that's entirely our fault!
We will 10000% be coming back better equipped!

Campervan Easter long weekend

Staff were very helpful when we had a couple of issues with our campervan. They helped and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful location surrounded by mountains and very peaceful.
Would definitely recommend and will be back at some point to stay again.
Gorgeous campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Super friendly and easy check in, amazing views from all over the campsite. Only 1 kilometre from the local town, which is perfect for an evening walk for drinks and dinner.
Lovely campsite in an excellent location
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 We enjoyed a lovely 4 night stay here in April 2025.
It was the perfect base to explore North Wales from. The scenery from our pitch was breath-taking, with mountain views in every direction, and I particularly enjoyed falling to sleep to the sound of the river running through site. All of the facilities were immaculately clean throughout our stay and very easily accessible.
My only real comment about the shower facilities was that the shower only lasted 12 seconds before turning off via the push button. I appreciate that it is better to use this kind of system to save water but 12 seconds is just not long enough to achieve anything! The price I would say is slightly on the higher end of the scale compared to other sites which cost the same or less and have more things on site to keep the little ones entertained but it probably makes up for it by the views that I've not seen anywhere else!
My only other slight issue was that we paid a £20 returnable deposit for a fire pit and it is now 6 days since we returned it and no sign of the £20 back in my account.
The weather was on our side at Cae Du!
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Tent and Campervan Pitches Apr 2025 We enjoyed a lovely stay at Cae Du in our VW California. We had an electric grass pitch which was spacious and offered fantastic views, made even better by the blue skies and warm sun.
Cae Du is a well maintained site, with a river running along part of the perimeter, which was perfect for walking the dog. Great location with lovely walks from the site and around 30 mins to Harlech beach.
We'd highly recommend Cae Du and look forward to returning.

Staffing site very friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets are basic and clean, with plenty of hot water for showers which is on a push button timer but it's fine and saves wastage. Lovely view of Snowdon and surrounding mountains to wake up to.
