Little gem of a place stayed on the hottest weekend of the year so a dip in the river was a must for myself and my dog , shop within walking distance is a bonus when you don’t have a car . Beautiful site with super friendly staff and a great pub and beer garden will definitely be back

Good for a short weekend get away

Weekend away with 2 young children. They seemed to enjoy the small park. The toilet block had working facilities, but feels like it needs modernising. Facilities cleanliness was ok. The men's toilet were short on toilet paper for a number of hours, litter was still in the men's facilities for hours before it was tidied by a gentleman staying. It was noticed that graffiti had appeared on one of the cubicles after a DofE group stayed over night. Women's wash facilities were used for the children, as the cleanest of the 2. Toilets and showers worked well. Closing of the facilities needs to be started after checkout, as a number of people wanted to use the facilities before leaving, but were told they were closed. Although the lady let the facilities be used, it was very clear she wasn't happy about this. We had 2 young children, which we sent to the toilet before a long journey home, who were also told they were shut. This was clearly an issue to the cleaner, but made no sense to close the facilities during prime time. Pitch sizes were tight, but fitted both our caravan an awning comfortably. Unfortunately, due to the site being used but people who want a couple of nights away. There isn't really much space for children to play. Which is fine, but for campers to be aware of.

One night in Pandy

A one night away. A well laid out site with a mix of tourers, tents & Campervans. We were met & ushered to our pitch. All procedures and facilities explained. Outstanding food and beer at the on-site Pub with attentive staff. Riverbank a short walk away. There was a Quiz night going on at the pub so we joined in with the convivial locals and fun & mirth ensued. A Great location and excellent staff, will probably return someday soon.

Great for meal at restaurant and local attractions

Easily accessible, small site with clearly marked level pitches. Friendly welcome from landlord and a scrumptious Sunday lunch at the onsite pub. We visited Castell Rhaglan on the 2nd day of our stay. Lots of road noise and trains nearby too, but a very good site nonetheless.

Great little site

We stayed at this site Monday to Thursday as a group of 4 couples. Warm welcome from the owner and taken to our pitch. The site is small but well laid out with access direct to local footpaths. The shower block was clean and functional but could do with a refresh which I understand to be in the business plan. We went to the on site pub to celebrate a birthday and had an excellent meal. Definitely restaurant standard! We would stay again if we were in the area.

Nice level pitches

Facilities could be better to feel it was better value for money, but the pitches and the location were very nice. No toilet rolls all the time we were there, no recycling just general waste. We didn't use the pub so can't comment on that, had beers and BBQ in the sunshine. Although I've been a bit negative I would still recommend it for the lovely location alone, and we had a really good time meeting up with friends there. Staff on arrival were welcoming and friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to review your time with us, apologies you found our facilities without all the needed product, we check it twice a day in truth and can only assume it is edible some days, we are changing the type of system to help prevent it running out again and again. We accept your thoughts regarding our shower block, having inherited the building just about 15 months ago, we had already identified this as a project to get done and thankfully, it is planned in for this winter where we intend to bring it all up to date.

Convenient location, basic facilities

Booked for 2 campervans as one of us was attending an event in the area and location was convenient. On arrival, we were told we didn't have adjoining pitches, we were either end of the camping field. We asked if there was anyway we could be together but the chap explained that they were fully booked and guests had pre-booked specific pitches. We understood this but the message could've been delivered better, I felt I was being told off by the headmaster just for politely asking. It would've been good to know this in advance as honestly, we would've booked elsewhere had we known. We were looking forward to cooking together whilst socialising which we then couldn't do, somewhat defeating the point of going together! It was particularly frustrating when adjacent pitches were vacant for both nights of our stay, so it seemed it could've been possible after all. Site was fine. Toilets and shower block basic but clean. 3 showers, 1 of which had no lock. Pressure on the showers was pretty poor, as in the water stopped completely when toilets were flushed, but it was manageable. Nice and warm. Best part was a lovely walk through the fields right next door which was fantastic for the dogs. Ate in the pub which had nice food. Liked the barrier into the campsite entrance for security. Would be great to have some recycling bins rather than all general waste.

We are also sorry to hear the water flow became slow, it was indeed slow on the area we believe but although uncontrollable, we feel responsible so apologies.

Great Compact Touring Site

Paul and the Team could not have made us more welcome and continued to be available and helpful 24/7 throughout our stay. Whilst the facilities are fairly basic and the pot wash sinks are positioned immediately outside the toilets/showers, they were kept clean and well stocked. We understand that Paul and his partners have only owned this site and adjoining Pub/Restaurant for 12 months what they have achieved wonders so far. We look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future when even greater improvements will be made, I'm sure.

If Carlsberg done campsites

Could not fault a thing about this amazing site. From the minute we pulled into the car park the friendly welcome from Paul to the minute we pulled back out of the gate an amazing time was had by us both. Quiet, rural relaxing site, a refurbished on site pub, with an amazing menu and the quality of the meat was outstanding. Said to Paul on the 1st night, we haven't slept here yet, but I can assure you we will be back.,,, 6 days later we were. This site has had a lot of money spent on it and it shows. They are fully aware of the showers need improvement, however they have addressed this and have a working business plan in place. As the saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day. Be proud of what you have achieved in your first year.

Lovely dog friendly site

What a fantastic site, the staff were wonderful and the whole site was dog friendly. We will definitely be returning.

Great little campsite

Camped here for 1 night. Manager very friendly and helpful. Campsite very clean. Showers clean and lots of hot water. The pub was good too. Had a meal which was good quality and reasonably priced . All the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

Absolutley fantastic stay!

Beautiful site, facilities and pub! Food is amazing. Highly recommend eating here. Made a curry - yum! And the beef 'n' cheese pie outstanding (although plate cold). Cider nice. Lovely landlord and locals. Highly recommend for any ages, dogs, friends etc.

Dog friendly

Great location with access to fields for dog walking out the back gate. Plenty of longer walks accessible on foot from the campsite as well. The onsite pub serves excellent food with a good range of beers, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The only thing to improve would be the showers as they are not hot enough.

Very nice site

Very convenient site with pub on site. On a main road. Showers and washing up water could have been hotter. Food good up the pub.

Gem of a site

Gem of a site. Spent a wonderful weekend there to catch up with friends. A very warm welcome on arrival. Paul showing us to our pitch. Everything is very well kept, neat and tidy, A play area for the children at the side of the pub. Also, dogs are more than welcome always a bonus. Then there's the food! What can I say, just wow! It's on another level. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch. Thank you to all the staff, for a wonderful atmosphere and service. Will be booking again to return in May for another cheeky break. See you then Rivers Edge 😃

Great little campsite

Great campsite next to the pub. As all campsites, they are getting so expensive. I was a solo traveller so this seemed a little costly for me. There was, however, no hot water in any of the sinks to wash, so I was not too pleased. Hopefully this was not the normal practice. Showers and pan wash were fine.

Apologies Graham for the lack of hot water in one of the sinks, we had found a faulty tap and isolated the fault, the other sink next door worked fine, we have since replaced the tap and all is well again but sorry you experienced this. Appreciate our prices have increased slightly, our running costs have increased hugely in comparison and I am sure you can appreciate, we have to react to try and recoup some costs through our business as with the rest of the world it seems. First time out in our newly acquired camper

First time out in our newly acquired campervan to try it out. Couldn't have asked for a better site to do it. Greeted on arrival by very welcoming and friendly staff who were also very helpful. Pitches are clean and tidy and easily accessed. Facilities were excellent and spotless. We went to the bar for a few drinks and had a superb dinner from a very good menu. I recommend the Madras. Will definitely return in the future. Highly recommend this site.
