Site suited me very well for the GYS, Harlow Carr, Bradford City of Culture and Saltaire and there was a bath available as well.

Motorhome - All Weather Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Having stayed in a disappointing campsite for 4 days, we were hoping this would be a good stay. We were not disappointed! Nice big pitches, shower block very close and lovely wooded dog walk. We also took advantage of being close to Otley to eat in a great Turkish restaurant! Would recommend this campsite.

Site's response

Large Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Lovely location, not far from Leeds, so it only took me 25 minutes to get there, but at the same time, it seemed so far out of the city, which was lovely. There are some great pubs nearby. The toilets and showers are kept very clean, but the bins outside were very full. I did like that there was a bottle bank for recycling. I think it was a bit expensive, compared to other places and that it was £10 per night for electricity, which was not mentioned until the end of the booking process. There are a lot of pitches, and although it was nice as I didn't have many people too close to me, I think it would have gotten very crowded if every specified pitch had been taken. I wouldn't have liked to have been that close up to other people. Also, the electric hook-up was quite far from the spot, luckily, my cable stretched far enough. Positives are that it is very peaceful and adult only, so no screaming children, but I did see one family visiting. There are also people there who live there or live there in summer, and they were very friendly. I was on my own and felt safe. The site was 90% caravans and campers, some of which were massive. I think I was the only tent, that was no issue. I liked that I could have a BBQ and a fire pit (although it was too hot and a fire was not needed). It is a manned site, and people were around cleaning and making general maintenance (quietly), and I did get a site map. It seemed to be a nice area to walk, but I picked two nights during a heat wave and it was far too hot to explore (obviously not the sites fault). I would go again.

Couldn’t ask for more!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

The whole site was beautifully maintained, impeccably tidy and clean in all areas. The shower block did not feel 'outdoors' therefore, it's the first site I've visited where I've not been on edge using the facilities (I'm terrified of spiders, there wasn't one to be seen!). Very efficient access and we really appreciated the cordoned off woodland for off lead dog walking. There's also a farm shop just over the road, perfect for campsite cooking! Already planning our next trip.

Site's response

Thank you for the amazing review, we are very proud of the site and how clean we keep the facilities, Annette our cleaner does a wonderful job. I'm so pleased you and the dogs enjoyed the woodland walk, we believe having several acres of woodland dedicated for dog walking is a real bonus, we hope you visit again.

Super

Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

I stayed here for what was originally one night. I was met with a friendly reception who gave clear instructions on directions and facilities. I decided to stay another night and they facilitated that without hesitation. The campsite was quiet which I wanted and clean facilities. Would definitely visit again.

Site's response

Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to review the site and your stay, I'm glad we could accommodate you to stay another night and I hope you had a good journey home.

Motorhome - All Weather Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Stayed at St Helena's for a long weekend recently. Have to say that we really enjoyed our stay there. The site is well laid out and well maintained. There are service points close by for electric and water. The staff/management were very helpful, friendly and accommodating and there was a nice sense of community about the site, with many pitches appearing to belong to permanent residents, who were very welcoming. For those who enjoy what West Yorkshire has to offer, the location is perfect. Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and Ilkley are all close by as is Leeds/Bradford Airport. The site is secure, easy to reach and although close by to the main road networks, feel like you are in the "country". There are also supermarkets, restaurants and pubs within a short driving distance. As with other reviews, the toilet blocks are dated, hence 4 stars. But don't be put off by this as they are well maintained. We will definitely be returning.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Lovely guy greeted us and let us pitch up early on the Sunday. But weather turned very windy. Bins were overflowing and never got emptied during my time there (only 2 days) was pleasantly surprised at having a full bath and bathroom in the facilities block. Worst negative was aircraft noise from 6am all day Until late evening.

Peaceful, great location

Motorhome - All Weather Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

1st impression wasn't good. When we arrived, we called the number that lifted the barrier but when we got through, there was nobody in the office, so we called the number, no answer. We had no clue what to do, so just drove round the park until we found a spot. If you're not going to answer the number that you provide, then please include instructions including the pitch number in the confirmation email. The site and facilities are okay.

Site's response

Dear Alison, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on our out-of-hours check-in process. I'm glad to hear that the barrier operated correctly and allowed you into the park. Firstly, I would like to apologize for the difficulty you experienced in getting through on the phone. We do our best to answer every call immediately, but sometimes we may be assisting another customer. Please be assured that we always try to call people back as soon as we are available. For late arrivals, pitch numbers are clearly displayed in the office window, and a large metal park plan is attached to the office wall to enable self-check-in. Following your valuable feedback, we have now altered our welcome letter to explicitly state the check-in procedure for late arrivals. In addition to the duty manager's number, we have also added an emergency mobile number to offer further assistance to customers who may be struggling with the out-of-hours check-in process. If you or any of our customers anticipate requiring a late check-in and are concerned about the self-check-in procedure, we always welcome a call during office hours. We will be more than happy to provide your allocated pitch number and directions to your pitch in advance. Sally
