Clear filters Will definitely be staying again
Large Tent - Standard Non Electric Grass Pitches (Island's Riverside Meadow) Aug 2024 Just spent a weekend here with family and we have had an amazing time. So peaceful and relaxing and the owners are so lovely and helpful.
Considering there was kids and dogs on the site they were no bother and never disturbed us even on a night.
Can't wait to book again.

Idyllic and picturesque
VW-Type Campervan - Premium Electric Riverside Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 Great pitch over looking River Ure. Very friendly family-run campsite for all types of campers. Great location. Would definitely book again.

Nice to see Kingfishers and Herrons catching food in the morning.
My only concern is that it needs internet.

Lovely 2 night stay
Aug 2024 Lovely 2 night stay, would highly recommend. The only thing I would say would be Wi-Fi, but that just personal preference just because I ended up using all my data. Apart from that, had a good time. The facilities were clean and done the job. The staff as well were very kind and helpful.

Quick 2 night stay
Trailer Tent - Standard Non Electric Grass Pitches (Island's Riverside Meadow) Jul 2024 Perfect Yorkshire location giving loads of choice of nearby places to visit. We found the information room useful as we found a nearby nature reserve that we enjoyed an evening stroll in. Highly recommend the pub in nearby Leckington for a super meal.
The tent pitch by the river was well tended and perfect for getting our dogs into the river for some exercise - they loved it. The campsite was quite busy, as you might expect at the start of the school holidays, but there was little noise and all was quiet by 10pm for a good night's sleep. All the toilets and showers were kept very clean.
No rush on the final day to pack away as we didn't need to leave until 11.30am. We'll be back for another stay.

Amazing!
Single Axle Caravan - Premium Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 Our first time on this site, what an amazing site. We were pitched right next to the river, the noise of the river was so soothing.
Beautiful wildlife to watch and the bird song in the morning is fantastic. Very peaceful and not too busy as it was still term time. David and Victoria were always about to help and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean facilities, powerful showers and plenty of hot water. All the basics in the little shop to help if you run out of anything. Lovely local pubs to eat at.
We have booked to return in September and can't wait.

Camping weekend
VW-Type Campervan - Standard Non Electric Grass Pitches (Island's Riverside Meadow) Jul 2024 Fantastic last minute camping weekend.
Wonderful setting and close to a lovely village with great pubs, park and cafe. We have 2 children and a dog and it was just a perfect site with so much green space and lovely walks right from where we were staying.

Excellent site and location
VW-Type Campervan - Standard Non Electric Grass Pitches (Island's Riverside Meadow) Jun 2024 Great location. Everybody very friendly. First time ever at a campsite and very impressed. Would have liked more items in the onsite shop, other than that couldn't fault anything. Will definitely return.

Fantastic campsite
Large Tent - Standard Non Electric Grass Pitches (Island's Riverside Meadow) Jun 2024 Really nice site next to the river. Perfect for water loving families.
We had two problems, our own fault. We booked the wrong night, but this was sorted by the friendly staff. On leaving, our car battery was flat. The staff helped by jumping our car off. I couldn't be more grateful.
Would highly recommend this site.

Lovely campsite
Motorhome - Premium Electric Riverside Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2024 Lovely big campsite in a beautiful setting.
We stayed here on a lovely summers evening and it was great. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Set beside a lovely river in an old farmhouse yard that's full of charm. Great walks beside the river and into the countryside.
Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Despite it being a big campsite it is totally tranquil with big pitches.
Would definitely recommend.
It lacks Wi-Fi and decent phone coverage but in such a setting, it would be a shame to spend too much time on a phone anyway.

Stunning, friendly & very accommodating
VW-Type Campervan - Premium Electric Courtyard Hardstanding Pitch Jun 2024 Booked last minute, rates were amazing. We turned up so later than expected but staff were so accommodating, friendly and so nice, didn't mind at all that we were a little late.
The site itself is absolutely stunning, the lake and beach were an added bonus to this site. Facilities were absolutely spotless and all campers were so nice and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this site and stay again x

Practice run
Trailer Tent - Premium Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 We took our new tent for its first outing at Slenningford Mill campsite. We were met with a smile and given a choice of pitches, as it was quiet. Given a leaflet showing rules and emergency numbers etc.
This site is beautiful, set alongside the river Ure near Ripon. All facilities were very clean and serviceable. A lovely quiet place with plenty of room. and the grounds were tidy.
We enjoyed our stay and will be re-visiting again.

Peaceful and beautiful
Large Tent - Premium Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Our first camping trip as a family. Very glad we chose this site. Great facilities and pitches.
Relaxing river to listen to and a beach of sorts for the kids to play at. Also, conditions depending, the river would be great for kayaking/paddleboarding etc. Further downstream from the beach is a calmer spot where there appeared to be much less of a current - potentially a good spot for calm water sports but obviously at everyone's own risk. Nice walks straight out of the site.
The local pubs looked perfect but we didn't have the time to try either out. Also, a local post office and car garage. Would definitely go back at some point.

First time campers
VW-Type Campervan - Premium Electric Riverside Hardstanding Pitches May 2024 This was our first family trip out in our VW and it was absolutely faultless. The facilities were very clean and tidy, the owners were wonderful, very welcoming and helpful (along with their 2 lovely young girls). We had pitch number 25 for the evening, right by the river and my goodness it was beautiful. Fishing was a huge bonus, as my partner loves fly fishing! We will most certainly be back, next time for longer, as we really didn't want to leave!

Single Axle Caravan - Premium Electric Hardstanding Mill Pitches May 2024 This beautiful place is a must to visit! From the warm welcome to the beautiful location I was blown away with this caravan park, the facilities are immaculate and the showers are lovely and warm. We have never felt so relaxed and our little dog loved it too. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Beautiful campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Standard Non Electric Grass Pitches (Island's Riverside Meadow) May 2024 We had a gorgeous spot right by the river, ideal for sitting, relaxing and chatting. Facilities were well kept and clean and the whole campsite was really well maintained. The shop was open into the evening, which is unusual to find on campsites and a real bonus - everyone we spoke to was really helpful.
The showers were lovely and hot with good water flow. The one thing I'd like to see would be a small bench or shelf in the shower as not everything can hang on the door, not a big problem but would be a nice to have. The area itself is very picturesque with good walking routes from the campsite itself and bathing in the river was a real treat. Would definitely go back.

Motorhome - Standard Non Electric Grass Pitches (Island's Riverside Meadow) May 2024 We stayed at Sleningford Watermill as a last resort really, while trying to get a site within 50 miles of home, which had electric hook-up. We took a punt and it paid off.
Vicky helped us out right from the off and I can't thank her enough!
I would say the site is ideal for people wanting to use the river or families just happy to be outside playing games and riding bikes etc.
Beware people wanting to just watch YouTube or teenagers wanting to bury their faces In the Internet, the signal here is poor to say the least. We had both EE and 02 devices and both were
poor.
Apart from that, we loved it and would return.
