Great no fuss camping

Had a great stay at Bent Rigg Farm. Went with another family with 4 children ages 2-5 and a dog. The space was ideal for kids to run around and be kids all looking out over an incredible sea view. They also loved the sheep, Highland Cow and friendly farm cats roaming around. The toilet and shower facilities are very basic outbuildings. The wet room was nice but there’s only one so can be a bit of a wait. There is a 2nd shower but it has no light and the water was either freezing or boiling. But other than that the stay was brilliant and I’m sure we will back on a fine weekend! Thanks for having us!!

Very cute

So great to have the little shop on site and amazing for our little boy to be able to see the animals so close. A bit more bin capacity would be perfect.

Our Perfect Campsite

With incredible sea views, friendly staff, and some very friendly cats, this campsite was everything we needed and more. All facilities were clean, the shop had everything we needed, and the general atmosphere was spot on. Thank you for a perfect stay and we cannot wait to come back!

I cannot fault this site at all

Really nice site

Really nice wee sight ,facilities basic but functional very clean and all you need for your camping trip. very central for travelling lovely sea views ,great for the dogs 🐕 although for some the dogs kept on a lead rule needs to be adhered too as it is a working farm . The livestock in the adjacent field was nice it was home from home . I would recommend this site too anyone who wish to stop over between whitby and scarborough. we are returning for a long wk end in 3 weeks time and no doubt will be back again

Perfectly nice, natural site

Great location for exploring the area. Fabulous views. Friendly greeting on arrival. Good sized pitches and not noisy or overcrowded. The facilities are fine, on the basic side but clean and working. Small shop looked good too. Will return if back camping on the coast. It is a working farm so cats and chickens about, also farm equipment. No manicured grounds, rustic feel.

Excellent stay

Lovely little site. Perfect location with sea views and easy access to both the Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track. The owners are very friendly.

Lovely farm site

Lovely farm site. We took a large tent for 4 of us, there were many other various pitches. The toilets and showers were clean and well facilitated. There's a little shop on site. It is well situated for some great walks up and down the coastline.

Loved it

Will stay again. It's a working farm so don't expect shiny, all purpose, all in site - it is what it is, a farm with camping. We had no problem parking our motorhome. The family were very friendly and the cost, well, what can I say £20 per night inclusive of electric - what more do you want? I loved it and we shall be back.

Great quiet relaxed campsite

Great site. Relaxed, quiet at night, lovely views to the sea and space for kids to play with a kite. Just lovely. Would come again.

Great Hideaway

It's a lovely spot with amazing views. The pitches are large and well spaced. The farm animals are friendly and the shop is well stocked. Its lovely and quiet too. These are the good points and I would have to give 5 stars for this. However, the entrance is quite narrow. The pitches are through a working farm yard, which to be honest is littered with farming stuff (mostly rotting and rusty) all over the place. I would certainly recommend a really good tidy up and a finding of homes for things. The toilet facilities are 1 x male WC, 1 x female WC and 1x unisex shower/WC., which considering the number of people camping is kind of alarming. My biggest gripe would be that the fresh water tap (x1) is not attached to anything and doubles up as the rinse for your chemical toilet. For the sake of a post in the ground and splitting the pipe off to have a separate one for the chemical disposal (pallet) enclosure. I know this site hasn't been open long, but I do feel that some attention to 'viewing things through customers eyes' is needed. I accept also that this is a busy and old fashioned working farm and I congratulate them for their endeavours in their diversification but until these things are sorted out, they will struggle to get regular or more caravan customers. Would I recommend - yes, but be aware of the shortcomings.

Thank you for your comments, we will take on board what you have said, we are continually updating the site but it will always be a working farm which we make no secret of on our website, we believe the pitch prices reflect the "Farmyard" surroundings. I agree we need more facilities but to be honest we have had our busiest year yet to date and another shower has been ordered and is on the way. Thank you for your comments about one of the water taps. It does need to be on a post, this will be done shortly. It is however only for drinking water, I will make sure people know this on arrival. Incidentally, we are not "new" the campsite has been here for 50 years. Thank you, Julie.

Brilliant

Brilliant stay, facilities very clean. Shop on site great for basic bits of shopping. Great location in between Whitby and Scarborough. Will be coming back again.

Peaceful and scenic

Wonderful stay at Bent Rigg. Really quiet site. Simple but clean facilities. Beautiful views and access to the Cleveland way and cinder path.

Lovely setting

This is a working farm so expect the usual farm machinery and random bits and pieces around the place. If you prefer neat rows and an immaculate setting, this rustic site won't be for you. There is one large shower room - family size and two toilets. Once again these are very rustic but clean and serviceable. The views out to see are lovely. We would definitely return.

Back to basics

A lovely quiet farm campsite. Small and welcoming. Lovely views over the fields to the north sea, but this does mean it can be windy!. A variety of cows, sheep, horses and cats around the site. Limited number of pitches so it stays quiet. Lovely dark skies. Facilities are clean, but basic. Two toilets and a shower room with toilet and basin. Small campsite shop, fire pits and logs to hire. 10 minute walk to Ravenscar, but not much there facilities wise, so you need to take things with you, or drive into Whitby or Scarborough. Great walks/cycling from the campsite

Highly recommend

Site amazing for price with good access to Scarborough and Whitby and surrounding area. Running water, shower, toilets, waste disposal and more. Very pet friendly, will definitely be visiting again 👍👍👍

110% recommend, plenty facilities and lovely staff

Stayed here for 1 night booked a couple of days in advance with quick confirmation and very fair prices. We were greeted by a lovely lady who had a handy map and showed up where everything was. Fields are in great condition and well looked after. The farm animals including the cats are affectionate and friendly. Toilets, showers, outdoors tap and sink all very clean. The onsite shop has the very basics but beyond reasonable prices. Fire pits and logs available priced per night from the shop. We spoke with another lovely lady who worked for the farm (sorry, didn't catch her name) who showed us a mother and calf in the barn & some of the sheep waiting to lamb, very friendly and such a laugh. Really cannot fault this place and we will be back soon again, lovely atmosphere amongst everyone here. Can't ask for much more really :)

1 night tent stay

We had a good time camping here, our dog had plenty of room to play, the electric pitches have an ok amount of space between them. Had all the basic facilities you need, toilets, showers, microwave, fridge and little shop too! We stayed right next to the house as this was the only pitch left, so next time we would get there a little earlier to avoid this. We would recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay.
