Great location, peaceful and great access to York. Host was hospitable but we were out the majority of time. Amenities include Microwave, fridge, Kettle and toaster with complimentary tea/ sugar/ towels etc. Good nights sleep, even at -2. Couldn't figure out underfloor heating but an electric log burner heated the cabin well. We visited Howard Castle during our stay and was well worth a visit.

We stayed for the weekend to visit the York Christmas markets and the local countryside around castle Howard. We had a lovely time. The owners were very lovely and helpful, the bonus was the 2 very friendly cats roaming around. Would definitely recommend.

Cosy space with everything we needed, lovely shower and the kitchen area was the perfect size for us. We were worried about road noise, however this was not an issue at all. Highly recommend The Hut.

A lovely time. We had 3 nights in the shepherd's hut and it was perfect for us, a couple who wanted to walk and visit local villages. The hosts were very welcoming, the place was clean and well-equipped. Would stay again!
