Aerial of the campsite

Just ten minutes from the Lincolnshire Wolds, The Red Lion is a family friendly and welcoming destination set in the grounds of a 19th century coaching inn. There are grass and hardstanding pitches for tents and tourers spread across the one acre site, with the pub serving a range of tasty dishes every day. Skegness is within a half hour's drive from the site, and you'll have walks along the Wolds on your doorstep.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

This is a lovely site - I absolutely recommend it. We only stayed for one night this time as we were introducing our massive and very excitable dog to camping. It could have been a disaster... We have stayed here before which is why we chose it this time around - it's not too far from home for us so if it all went pear-shaped we could have bundled the dog and the tent back in the van. But, we didn't need to worry! The only thing that wasn't spot-on for our stay was the weather. There was an almighty downpour but that's part of the fun of camping, right? The site is very well organised - pitches are big and clearly marked. The facilities are clean and well looked after. You are made to feel very welcome on this site - the staff are very helpful and friendly. In fact, the friendliness is what we liked about it the most, and the reason we went back. It's a quiet, relaxed site. The pub is excellent - super food and beer and again the staff can't do enough for you. This site would be perfect if you are an aircraft enthusiast, but even if you are not remotely interested (like me!) it's still a great site, and puts you in easy driving distance of the seaside. All in all, it offers excellent value for money and is well recommended.

Site with pub and electricity

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023

I looked for a site with a pub, dogs welcome, campfires allowed, WC, shower and electric pitches. The site is well kept and has large pitches. The price included electric, dog and awning for only £20, which is a bargain. The owner Chris was polite and helpful. The pub, although not open every day, served good food in large portions with a good selection of draught beers. Couldn't fault the place. Only about 17miles from Skegness or Mablethorpe.

A great site for a VW camper

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

A great site with good facilities and lots of pitch space. The staff at the pub were helpful when I needed help with the barrier, (as my camper was left hand drive) and the site is in a great location with plenty in walking and driving distance. A great option for both long and short stays, and will gladly return.

Great stay

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Pre arrival information was useful with code to enter site, on arrival, the plot was easy to find with plenty of space. Went to the pub for tea-friendly staff and great pie and chips. Quiet night with 24 hour access to toilet and shower facilities on-site, as well as pot washing and drinking water tap. Both EHU and non-EHU available. Small playground with sunken trampoline within EHU part of site.
