Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 We had a very nice stay at Roey's, little on site shop well stocked and good prices for convenience. Clean shower and toilets were well looked after. Owner came and introduced herself, and was a very nice touch. We felt very welcome.
Small play area and chickens were a bonus, selling fresh eggs too! Make sure you bring cash as showers are £1 for 5 mins. We were unaware and only had card, so just a little pointer ☺️
Attentive owners Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 This is a basic campsite and when that is the case, then the basics have to be spot on. Fortunately for Roey's Retreat, the basic provision is excellent.
The campsite is clean, tidy, conveniently located and evidently cared for by the attentive owners. The owners provided a point of difference to other sites by going above and beyond to make sure that our stay was enjoyable and stress free.
Thank you Karen and Nick (and the young lady cleaner), for your hospitality whilst we completed 2 stretches of the SW Coast Path, whilst also celebrating our wedding anniversary.
Everything we wanted after a long days' walking! Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 We loved Roey's Retreat from the moment we arrived! The campsite is peaceful, full of evening sun and the occasional wandering chicken in true country style. The facilities were everything we needed (hot shower, clean toilets, a kitchen area to do washing up) and the shop was kitted out with all you could want after a long day of walking!
Roey and Vanessa made us so welcome, and we would love to stay there again. Thank you both so much - for the great stay and the life advice!

2 night stay in early July Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 Lovely, friendly site, a pleasant few miles walk from coastal path above Clovelly. Have selected that it suits couples best, but good for backpackers (little shop on site) and other groups I'd imagine. Swings etc for children too!
Great campsite, great owners Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Very hospitable owners. Present each day to check in on everyone and even offered to drive us to the start of the Coast Path.
Convenient and pleasant, level site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Convenient site close to main route through North Devon and a little over a mile from the entrance to Clovelly, which means you can avoid the £8.75 parking fee.
The site is level, has a small shop with an honesty box for basics and a nice shaded sitting area. There is a pizza oven on site. It wasn't in use while we stayed but that was a quiet time of year so it may well be working during the summer holidays.
I would be happy to stay again.
Perfectly located campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Beautiful and peaceful campsite with easy access to the lovely village of Clovelly.
Karen the campsite owner couldn’t have been more helpful with advice on getting around.
Dog friendly and a handy on site shop for basics with an honesty box system. Would definitely come again!

You can also buy fresh eggs from their chickens, honesty shop on site. Wish we could have stopped for Nicks Pizza night. Near Clovelly village, walk or bus, Karen even offered to drop us off at the village. We would definitely return.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 A great little facility with a very welcoming owner. Everything that a backpacker needs is there with a great little honesty shop. Owner couldn't have been more helpful and was there to give an arranged lift back to the start of the coast path.
Highly recommend.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Great little site. Called in for one night from walking South West Coast Path from Clovelly. Good network of footpaths to get to campsite.
Very quiet with only two tents on site. Fab honesty shop with the welcome joy of always being open! Lovely homely touches to facilities. Some traffic sounds, but no louder than the birds first thing. Would come again.
Great place! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Really great campsite. Such lovely and well kept grounds.
Very helpful owners and probably the cleanest toilets I've found whilst camping. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend for the area and further!

An excellent stay with Karen and Nick Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2024 Karen gave us a lift from and to the visitor centre, which was appreciated as it was a steep climb!
The kitchen & shop hut were great too. It stocked everything you might have forgotten.
I booked a small tent pitch as a backpacker tent was not available and Karen kindly reimbursed me when I arrived.
Excellent location for a visit to Clovelly Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2024 Ideal location for visiting Clovelly. Helpful owners. Toilet & showers basic but adequate- might get busy when more campers (only 2 showers and 4 toilets). Would definitely recommend.
Nice little site with great owners Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2024 Great little site ideal for the SW coastal path.
Facilities nice and clean, plenty of hot water. Owners, Nick and Karen, lovely and so helpful. Walk to Clovelly and coast path about 20-30mins. Bus to Bude and to Biddeford picks up right outside.
Great place Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2023 Stayed for one night, great place, hot water, showers, microwave, kettle. The only downside- cars from the road nearby were too loud.

A nice little campsite, friendly and close to Clovelly Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2023 This was a very relaxed, clean and quiet campsite.
Owners are very friendly, making a point of checking in with people to make them feel welcome.
Ideal for a visit to Clovelly. Facilities - good size pitches, and a little honesty shop was a lovely touch. Also a small communal area for people who wanted to mix with others and a couple of swings for the children.
Excellent site Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 We would highly recommend Roey's campsite. Very clean. The toilet area and shower area were extremely clean. Well thought out and well presented. We would definitely stay here again.
Simple, unfussy, not overdeveloped Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Great spot to stay for your visit to Clovelly. We tend to leave the motorhome on site and walk or bus to local places of interest and this site provided us with both options.
No pool/slides or overly child focused facilities, which suited us just fine. Though there was still plenty of space for kids to run about, plus a few good old fashioned swings.
Despite being close to the road, the site was quiet during the evening/overnight. Can't vouch for daytime - we weren't there!
We'd stay again.
