Hill Cottage Farm

Booked 2 nights - grass serviced pitch & cannot fault the booking process, communication & transition to the allocated pitch. Smart meters for EHU a nice touch and very simple to activate. Reception staff polite & small shop for the forgotten essentials. Used the onsite Thai restaurant my first night - takeaway was decently priced and enjoyed eating Al Fresco 😀🍷 Grass pitches are well maintained and large. The site appears well manicured and respectful - nice vibe to the campsite with friendly neighbours during my stay. Onsite sanitary has 2 available options - main building has showers with adequate clothes hooks & a small bench, whereas the field sanitary block pretty basic with not enough clothes hooks nor space for clothes & toilet bag. Washing up facilities are ok across both areas. Only negative was that the fishing ponds do require further management as there are only a couple of swims available on each of the ponds, due to overgrown vegetation / trees and limited space for anglers. I noticed a number of float / line & hooks caught in overhead trees which are a danger to the birdlife! I managed to reach 2 tangled setups - shame, as these ponds could be great if time was spent managing fishing swims and access to the Bankside/ pond environments. Not sure on their literature / write up stating common & mirror carp as I only caught small Rudd. Let's hope that they consider further improved management of the pond environments for the sake of the wildlife & anglers.

First timers

This was the first trial trip in our camper van , we found everything really easy at the campsite , very helpful friendly staff , site very well maintained , quiet and peaceful , we would definitely recommend it , fab weather too

Great stay at Hill Cottage Farm

Great site with lovely hedge partitions. Enjoyed the Thai takeaway although we ate in. Lovely location close to Salisbury and there are so many things to do.

lovely site nice and well kept we had a lovely spot close to amenities which were clean I might add showers a bit of pain as got to keep pressing the button as water cuts out every couple of seconds but a great stay would definitely come back to the same pitch site we had loved it ..

Great campsite find

Loverly campsite site with everything we needed. Self service check in instructions were clear, so pitched up and electric set ip in no time. Friendly people on site, and lots of friendly 4 legged friends. Toilets were clean, showers with nice hot water, and good dish washing area. Also made good use of the freezer for our ice and ice packs !! Walk to fishing lake was fine, just don’t expect and big lake, also good walk to forest area for dog to have and run and sniff. Overall would recommended this family and dog friendly campsite, which we plan to go back to in a month.

Dog friendly, great walks from site, Thsi eat in or take away restaurant on site with gluten free options and BYO alcohol. Peaceful and tranquil. Well maintained

Excellent site and clean facilities

A great campsites with clean facilities and very helpful staff. Our pitch was quite some distance from the electrical connection point and we were kindly lent lent an extension to our 10m lead so we could make use of it. 15min woodland walk to pub which was very pleasant. We used the site as a base for a few road cycle rides including Garmin Ride Out 2026 in New Forest. Also travelled to Hamptworth to use padel court. Great coffee and food at Bridges (Fordingbridge) and Borough Cafe (Downton)

Amazing for a first stay!

Our first trip out on our caravan and worry we may struggle to find anywhere quite like this! Wonderful location and very polite staff.

A gem of a site

What a beautiful site, hedge lined pitches giving that little bit of privacy. Everything clean and tidy and really well maintained and lovely friendly staff. Coffee van a real bonus as is the Thai kitchen.

Absolutely lovely campsites my first time staying here will definitely come back to this campsite again, everybody so kind and the facilities were kept clean.

Fantastic site!

Fantastic site, great layout with great facilities. Really enjoyed ourselves and the staff were brilliant! Only one minor disappointment was not being unable to regulate the shower water temperature as it was so hot outside and a cold shower would have been nice. That didn't ruin our stay and we'll definitely be back. Easy to walk to the village through a scenic wood and the pizza wagon served fabulous pizzas! Thank you Hill Cottage Farm. We loved it!

The best site we’ve stayed at

We have had the most amazing stay . One of the best sites we have stayed on. The pitches were so private and the site was immaculate. Staff were so helpful, even helping us get our van into position when our motor mover failed. The facilities were amazing and to have the Thai restaurant, pizza evenings and a coffee van in the morning, we were catered for completely. Food was 10/10 we will be booking again that’s for sure.. 10/10

Lovely quiet stay

Very clean and quiet site. Shower and toilet block was spotless. Great dog walking area around the outside of the field and a nice walk through the woods to the local pub. Would definitely visit again

Weekend getaway

We just spent two nights over the weekend here perfect location and peaceful site. Easy walk to local shop and pub. Friendly and helpful staff and a lovely easy dog walk around the fields.

Would not return

No heating in toilets or showers. Light goes out. 10 second showers, have to hold button all time or it'll stop. Could not sleep for 3 nights. The noise behind us, caravans are only 1m away at rear. The site is clean and tidy. The hard standing is very hard, big rocks. The site is overpriced for no facilities, other than toilet and a shower that's so small, you can't really move. No shower mirror to shave. Then having to pay extra for electricity at an expensive rate. Only had a TV and fridge on. The only site I've ever paid extra on. Would not be returning.

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Had we been aware that you weren't happy with your pitch, we would have been more than happy to find you another. This isn't always possible, but during your stay that wouldn't have been a problem at all. Mirrors in the shower area would steam up so we provide them in front of the sinks where most people prefer to shave. There is a family room in each block which anyone is welcome to use if they prefer more space when washing or showering. A lot of sites charge an extra £5 or £10 per night for a pitch with electric hookup. All of our pitches have electricity available but there is no obligation to use and it is charged according to usage. Caravans and motorhomes typically use about £2 per night, campers less than that and tents usually less than 50p/day.

Wonderful site

Wonderful site, friendly reception staff. Nice and private pitches between hedges if a hard standing is booked. Toilets and showers very clean, diffuser smell in there is very nice. We used the onsite restaurant which was Thai food but also noticed they served burgers too. The food was delicious and good value, just bring along your own alcohol. Would definitely recommend this site and we will revisit it in the future.

Perfect

We had a very peaceful stay. The site is well laid out and we loved the privacy hedging. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Everywhere is very well looked after and the facilities are very clean. A real bonus to have the Thai cafe on site which we used twice during our stay. We have ear marked this site in our list of “must” visit again!

Great site

Very easy to find in a lovely location. Onsite Thai restaurant amazing. Great for dogs lots of walks. Overall a very comfortable enjoyable 4 day stay.
