Large commercial campsite
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Jul 2025 We stayed here in July 2025, and the site was a lot busier than we had anticipated, but this was due to weekend travellers. Many of the tents, caravans, and campervans cleared out on the Sundays and Mondays.
The location was amazing, with access to the private beach, fantastic walks to the village and the overlooking hill, and the facilities were very good; however, access to the indoor pool was not available to us during the weekday, which was a huge disappointment.
The shop was excellent and provided everything you could need, from food, beverages, and camping supplies to souvenirs and very helpful staff.
The toilet, shower, and dishwashing blocks were very good (if one, not a little dated); they were kept very well cleaned for most of our stay and during the busier times, as best as traffic could have permitted.
The only down points I had were that the plots were on top of one another with no real physical division, just a burned-out grass/pebble demarcation line. This was ok during the quieter times, but at the weekends, was very claustrophobic with some inconsiderate campers who played their music too loud even for the daytime, in that you had no option to listen to their music, and it impinged massively on conversation and any viewing/music listening we may have wanted to do. These were adults who should have known better as well. Music and a party are totally fine, but be respectful of others who are also on holiday.
The last point I had was that one particular member of the reception staff I found to be quite rude, condescending, and unhelpful. When I went to ask for options to continue our final days at the campsite, as the weather forecast had turned drastically worse with severe weather warnings for thunder, I had asked for potential alternatives and to see if we could vacate our lot early for a caravan/tent/van, whatever may be available (we have been able to do this previously in Devon with a change to a glamping tent and no charge). Now, while I understand that some of these options were not available or an option, to have then been looked up and down at as if I was some scum on her shoe and with no offers of help or apology for not being able to help, just a rude "No," was disappointing and left me with a bad impression.
We ended up leaving early, unfortunately.
Having said all that, we did enjoy our time there and found the vast majority of staff to be very good, helpful, and pleasant.

The outdoor pool was great and the beach was right next to the site. We went just off season before the schools broke up and the site was not too busy, but certainly well staffed to look after the guests. Would certainly use this site again.

What a place
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Jun 2025 Amazing clean and tidy site with 1 of the best locations we have been to. Kids loved the pool and with river running into the sea they had lots of options.
Food was lovely in the restaurant and reasonable priced. Bridport harbour being only a short walk away gave us something to do during the day. Can't wait to go back.

Roof Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Jun 2025 The shower and toilet facilities near the shop were clean. However, we were down the other end near the other toilet and shower block, and found most of the toilets were loose and very wobbly when you sit on them and every time we used them, we found them to be dirty. Dirty, grass and dirt on the floors of the shower.

For the money you get so much - In and outdoor swimming pools, arcade, shop, food laundry. Clean and specious facilities and super friendly staff. Especially at the shop and security. Everyone is happy to help!
Kids had the best time. Definitely worth a drive from London. We will be back and for longer!
Lovely site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) Jun 2025 Lovely location. We stayed in the main field which was lovely with spacious pitches. Great for kids with the pools.
Staff did clean facilities, but it's a shame guests couldn't clean up after themselves, leaving their rubbish in shower cubicles and toilets.

My only one concern is that toilets could be closer to the pitch.

The shower blocks are nice and big, the shop is well stocked and priced. The outside pool and splash park were perfect. It was nice staying so close to the beach, the beach is really stony and is brutal on the feet - next time, we will bring some beach socks and that would be much better.
Great first family camping trip

As a family, we've only been camping at a couple music festivals, not a purpose camping/holiday site. We chose Freshwater primarily for the outdoor pool for the kids, but rest of the site didn't let down.
Quick check in process and clearly marked pitches, so had lots of space and didn't feel crowded (compared to festivals). Shower and toilet facilities plentiful and clean, along with washing up facilities and an on site shop, which was really helpful.
Topped off with great views of the coastline and walking distance to the beach, which was fun. Will be looking to come back for a weekend trip very soon

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Main Field) Jun 2025 Brilliant site, loved our stay, we were camped in the main field which was fine however we felt that we were packed in quite tight next to the tents.
Everything else was perfect. Could do with extra bar staff when busy.
Looking forward to our next stay. Brilliant walks/facility if you have a dog!!

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) May 2025 We had a brilliant 4 night stay with our kids (10,12 and 13). The outdoor pool was a real highlight, the staff were relaxed yet helpful and the facilities were excellent.
Touring VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Main Field) May 2025 I don't normally choose large sites as prefer peace and quiet, but booked there as was taking my two grandchildren and needed activities.
The site has two swimming pools, one outdoors one indoors. The pools were fine, but the indoor one needs to be booked in advance so you're not guaranteed to get in when you want and you only get an hour.
My main dislike was that dogs were being allowed off leads around the tents/vans. Twice I had a dog jumping up at me. Also, not everyone is happy to have dogs in the restaurant, have them in a separate area if they must come, and make sure signs that say no dogs are adhered to. I saw a woman in the ladies toilets with a dog.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field) May 2025 We enjoyed our stay here, the outdoor pool was great & being able to walk only a few minutes to the beach. We also had a nice quiet pitch area away from the very busy section!

Enjoyable and relaxing stay
Roof Tent - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Main Field) May 2025 I'd suggest that when quiet, this is a great place to stay, but I suspect if really busy, the facilities would get overwhelmed. Not sure both bars could take a full site.
That said the pitch was well maintained, facilities were good and serviceable, if not a little tired. Staff on site were brilliant.
We would definitely stay here again.
