About the site
Set five minutes from the Firth of Forth, this family and dog friendly campsite is great for exploring all that East Lothian and Edinburgh have to offer, whether that's a short break, a stopover on the way to the NC500, or a longer stay. With green open spaces, the site has a range of grass and hardstanding pitches. For solo campers without a car and arriving on foot, there are non electric backpacker grass pitches measuring 2m x 1m, great for those walking the John Muir Way! Those camping in a larger group can choose electric grass pitches, both in a standard size at 3m x 5m, and large at 7m x 3m. For tourers, there are electric grass touring pitches measuring 2m x 6m, as well as a range of hardstanding pitches. Small motorhomes, caravans and campervans can stay on a small electric hardstanding pitch measuring 2m x 5m, whilst larger units can choose the standard size or large pitches. There are also super electric hardstanding touring pitches for campervans and motorhomes up to 7m with water and drainage points. For those in search of glamping, there are a range of cosy glamping units. The Octo glamping pods are for for single travellers, with electric, a single bed, kettle, fridge, toaster and TV. Note that dogs are not allowed in these units. The Hexi glamping pods are perfect for two and have either one double or twin frame beds, as well as a heater, fridge, kettle, toaster and TV, with a gravel area with a picnic bench outside. For groups of four, there are glamping bothy cabins, both with and without a private toilet. These have two large bed frames, a fridge, heater, kettle, toaster, microwave and TV, with a covered decking area outside. For an added touch of luxury, choose one of the Double deluxe glamping bothies with a private toilet. Sleeping two, these include a double bed, soft furnishings, a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, TV and heater with a covered veranda outside. Dogs aren't allowed in these units. Please note that you'll need to bring bedding to stay in all units, except the Double deluxe glamping bothies. You'll also need to bring all camping equipment. All units have access to shared showers and toilet facilities nearby. There are also seasonal pitches, three themed glamping pods, holiday lodges with hot tubs and a self-catering cottage onsite. The site is a great base for exploring the surrounding area, with a bus stop close to the entrance for easy access into Edinburgh within 30 minutes. The John Muir Way also runs close by the site, with access to coastal walks within five minutes. The path also passes through nearby Musselburgh and Prestonpans, where there are a range of shops and pubs. Canine companions are more than welcome to join you here. There's a dog walk around the site, a dog wash with hot water and plenty of dog walking nearby. Two well behaved dogs are allowed on all touring pitches and all glamping units except the Octo glamping pods and double deluxe glamping bothies. Raised BBQs are allowed, and open fires are permitted in raised fire pits.
Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site is open from 01/09 to 31/12 in 2026 and all year round in 2027.
