We found this site after a search and we liked the location. Upon arrival, we found the Reception staff to be welcoming and helpful, directing us to choose a spot from the designated area. We had originally booked a grass pitch, however, due to the wet weather, we received a phone call in the days prior informing us we would be moved to hardstanding free of charge. The pitches were well laid out and fairly spacious, considering it is a large site. The site was tidy and clean, as were the facilities for the touring/camping. The maintenance staff were always visible; tidying up and cleaning the site. The playground, pump track and dog walking/kite area were well maintained and were enjoyed by our young children, as was the indoor swimming pool. It was surprisingly warm water (considering a lot of pools we have been to feel decidedly cold, understandably due to the cost of heating!), and the facilities were clean and the staff friendly when booking us in. The entertainment in the evening for children was enjoyable, although we felt it started a little too late for our children's ages, at 19:15. They were able to go to the arcade and soft play from the table. Although we weren't there long enough to utilise the restaurant, the food looked well cooked when adjoining tables were brought food. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and visited some lovely local areas, so we would definitely recommend Ladies Mile and we will be returning at some point.
Site's response
It sounds like you had a wonderful experience at Lady's Mile! We are glad you appreciated our proactive communication about the change in pitch due to the weather. It is great to hear that the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout your stay. The well-maintained pitches and facilities, along with the visible efforts of the maintenance staff, surely contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It's fantastic that there were plenty of amenities to keep your young children entertained, from the playground and pump track to the indoor swimming pool. The fact that the water was warm and the facilities were clean is definitely a plus. While the evening entertainment started a bit late for your children's ages, it's nice to know that there were other activities available for them to enjoy. Even though you didn't get to try the restaurant, it's reassuring to see that the food looked appetizing to neighbouring tables. It sounds like you made the most of your time exploring the local areas, and it's wonderful to hear that you would recommend Lady's Mile to others and plan to return yourself. Thank you for sharing your positive experience Gemma!

We booked to stay here for one night and unfortunately we weren't able to stay the whole night due to a family emergency. However, the short time we were there was very pleasant. We had a great meal in the restaurant on site and enjoyed the bingo! The campsite looked clean and had a security barrier. The person who checked us in was very friendly! Hope to come back one day and actually stay the night!
Site's response
I'm sorry to hear about the family emergency Ellie, but I'm glad to hear that the time you did spend at the campsite was pleasant. It's great that you were able to enjoy a nice meal at the restaurant and even participate in some bingo fun. The cleanliness and security measures like the security barrier are important factors for a comfortable stay, and it's always a bonus when the staff are friendly and helpful. Hopefully, you'll have the opportunity to return in the future and have a full stay. Wishing you all the best with your family situation and thankyou for the lovely review.

Lady's Mile is a large park with both static and touring pitches. We went off season, the pitch was big enough for our camper and awning with room to spare. Toilet blocks were clean. Our pitch was close to the facilities, which was great, but it was noisy when the bar closed in the evening. This didn't bother us but it might affect others. Our teenagers enjoyed the pool and the arcade. There is a handy shop and laundrette on site. Payments in the arcade and laundrette were through a payment card you loaded at reception or the arcade kiosk. There is an outdoor pool but it wasn't open due to the time of year we were there. The bar/restaurant was really large and entertainment is provided in the higher season. Staff were all conscientious and friendly. The location was convenient but it was about a 20 min walk or a short drive to the sea front in Dawlish. There is a Sainsbury's about 1/2 mile from the site. We would definitely visit again.

It sounds like you had a mixed but overall positive experience at Lady's Mile! The spacious pitch, cleanliness of the toilet blocks, and proximity to facilities were all highlights. However, the noise from the bar closing in the evening might be a drawback for some campers, though it didn't bother you. It's great to hear that your teenagers enjoyed the pool and arcade, and that there were convenient amenities like a shop and laundrette on site. The payment system with the loaded card seems convenient too. Even though the outdoor pool wasn't open during your visit, it's good to know it's available from May and through the high season. While the location was convenient with nearby amenities, it's helpful to note that it's a bit of a walk or a short drive to the seafront. Overall, it sounds like you had a positive experience and would consider visiting again. Thanks for sharing your detailed review Laura!

Arrived and the staff were awesome, the site is perfect. Shelves in the disabled room could have helped but most definitely no complaints! Food was omg mouth wateringly delicious, the steak just melted! Will be booking again, loved it.

It sounds like you had a fantastic experience Martin! It's great to hear that the staff were so helpful and that you found the site to be perfect for your needs. While some additional shelves in the disabled room could have been helpful, it's wonderful that you didn't have any major complaints. We are glad the food was absolutely delightful, especially that melt-in-your-mouth steak! It's no wonder you're already planning to book again. Thanks for sharing your positive experience!

Staff were welcoming and helpful upon arrival. Great place for dog owners, as there is a large dog walking field and Dawlish Warren beach is a short walk away. There was mention of an additional charge via a pre paid card for electric hook-up when I booked, but no mention of this when I arrived. Fortunately, I lasted 2 nights without the need to plug in. There are loads of toilets/showers, which were always clean. Whilst the showers are dated, they were all functional and had plenty of hot water.

It sounds like you had a pleasant stay overall! It's wonderful to hear that the staff were welcoming and that the facilities, particularly for dog owners, were accommodating. The abundance of clean toilets and showers must have been reassuring, even if they were a bit dated. The price of the electric hook-up is currently included in the price of your stay. Overall, it sounds like a positive experience, especially with the proximity to the dog walking field and the beach. We hope to see you again and thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
