Short break to try out camping

Was a lovely stay at Pointer Farm. It was an area we knew well. Easy to get to Fleetwood and Blackpool. Not keen on the unisex toilets and bit disappointed on the cleaning of them. The tent field was further from the toilets and caravan close when most caravans have there own facilities. The Wi-Fi was excellent and the electric hook ups for tents was excellent. Never really saw anyone for checking in. We did not know where to put rubbish but on the last day a sign went up. We moved the car to the car park but no one else seemed to and we could have kept some things in there instead of the tent. But we loved the site and would recommend it.

Basic

Very expensive for a basic site, pitches are to close together, the facilities very basic, nothing to do onsite or places to really walk to. A simple field, wasn't even allowed to park my car next to our tent, had to park it in a car park. Light on the electric hook up also couldn't be turned off, so lit up the tent all night. Good for a night but way to expensive for what it is.

We are a small, family-friendly campsite, and part of our approach is to keep the field safe and car-free so children can play without risk, which is why we ask guests to park in the car park. Our pitches are laid out to make the best use of space while still keeping a relaxed atmosphere, though we understand they may feel close together at busy times. As for facilities, we aim to provide simple, clean and well-maintained amenities rather than lots of on-site activities, as many of our guests prefer a quiet, back-to-nature experience. With regard to the electric hook-up light, this is in place for safety, but we do appreciate your feedback and will review how this might be improved for comfort at night. We do recognise we may not be the right fit for everyone, and your comments will help us continue to balance affordability, safety, and the family-friendly environment we strive to provide.

Excellent shower block

Flat tent pitch. Own water tap on pitch. Shower and toilet block was brilliant. Separate cubicle for hair drying and makeup.

Brilliant little site, everything you need and in the countryside. Only 15 mins from Blackpool Tower. Will definitely be staying again.

Quiet Campsite

A good camp site divided into 3 fields, there were only 4 pitches in use during our stay so it was very quiet. It is on a working farm with cows so plenty of mooing going on. Lets you know your really in the countryside. Plenty of footpaths around the site and the land is very flat so makes a good location for walking and cycling. The facilities are unisex, which I don't mind but would have been nice to have private cubicles with sinks in to have a wash. The facilities were kept clean while we were there. There is no play area for children.

Our visit

The pitches are of good size. However, not very well tendered, hard to know were you parking. I just picked the spot with most weeds and parked over them. The toilets and showers were clean. Hardstanding pitches not well maintained, toilets and showers were clean. The site owner doesn't even pop around to introduce his or her self.

We work extremely hard to keep our campsite clean, tidy, and affordable, with no hidden costs including electricity water showers . Our hardstanding pitches are designed to drain exceptionally well, even during the recent and unusually heavy rainfall. As stated in our listing, we operate a contactless check-in system, but we are available on-site daily from 8am to 8pm should any issues arise—and we also live on the premises. While we don't knock on every guest's door (as many prefer to settle in and enjoy their holiday without interruption), we are always reachable and happy to help. It's also worth noting that this is a working farm and, particularly in June, grass does grow—even on well-maintained hardstanding areas. That's simply the nature of a rural site. Given the effort we put in daily—personally cleaning the toilets and showers multiple times, maintaining the grounds, and providing direct contact details—we feel this review is very unfair. No concerns were raised during your stay, which would have given us the opportunity to respond immediately. Small, family-run sites like ours work hard to provide a welcoming and affordable alternative to large, commercial parks. Feedback is always welcome, but we do ask that it reflects the full picture.

Ok, very standard on a budget level site. Very basic facilities.

Nice campsite

Good little site, the owner helped me out when I had a problem with my tent in the winds too. Mixed toilets as advertised but plenty for the amount of people on site. Kids loved having space to rub around. Not a far drive from a few different beaches.

Wonderful simple site

This was a lovely site 14 pitches. Pitches were very good sizes. Toilets were clean and shower too. It was lovely and warm in the toilets and showers. Would definitely recommend to anyone it was so lovely we are first time campers but this site had all we needed.

A good location campsite!

Overall, my wife and I had a good stay at this location. Other than the very occasional noisy farm animals next door, the location is nice and quiet. My only comment/suggestion would be that the shower/ablution block and fencing could perhaps do with a repaint to give it that "well maintained" look. Would we go back? Absolutely. Thank you!

Happy family campers

Loved it, big open space for the children to play on. Big space for our tents. Lovely, clean toilets and showers. The toilet block was very warm too and wasn't cold when I got out the shower. Would definitely go back again and met the owner, who was great. Will be recommending to my friends.

A fantastic place, the shower was lovely. It was so good that we stayed another night. Very quiet, loved it.

Lovely break

Short break for 3 nights. Lovely small site. Facilities perfect for size of site. Couldn't have wanted more for the price paid.

We stayed here for two nights and loved it. We hired a fire pit for the weekend and our little boy loved it. I have already booked to come back.

Perfect for us, very quiet

Needs a step putting into the toilet block. I have a bad back at the moment so step a bit too high into toilet block. It would be great if a ramp was built, then it would give access for wheelchair. Great Wi-Fi and16 amp electric. It was our first visit, will be back soon.

Great, quiet site

Lovely peaceful site, definitely will return at some point. Facilities clean, not too far from the van. Spoiled only by a rowdy drunken couple.

Dad and daughter 1st time campers

Clean site, clean showers and toilets. Strong phone signal, Wi-Fi works, electric points spot on. Just me and my 8yr old daughter have just stayed here and even in terrible weather, we had a great time. It's a field surrounded by fields and farm animals. You'll need to drive out, Fleetwood, Blackpool no more than 25/30 mins drive. A pub close by, 5 mins drive and then a Spar a bit further down. Fire pit dropped off on arrival. What more do you need?

End of summer camp

No long queues waiting to check in, a code is provided via text the day before to enter the site which makes it stress free. The camp itself was lovely and clean with big fields for the children to play. Toilets and showers were cleaned once a day and kept on top of nicely, the unit was heated which was appreciated in the evenings after a shower and there were two hair dryers provided (which were a saint because I forgot mine). It's a nice quiet campsite which is what some people want. 10pm is downtime and it's much more peaceful. There are no activities for children or a park (nearest is 10 minutes drive away) it is a campsite with grassed area for them to play which you know when booking. After a few days, all the children made friends and played with each other, sharing their footballs, bats and balls which was lovely, especially for the parents for a bit of peace and quiet. We rented a fire pit and enjoyed a night by the fire, toasting marshmallows and making smores. Dogs are welcome, we have two spaniels who loved the nearby walks. We travelled to Knott End and Fleetwood for crabbing and beach days which are within 15-30 minutes away from camp. We had a last supper at a local pub called 'The Shovel Inn', I also couldn't recommend this enough the staff were very welcoming, we stayed in the sunny beer garden with the dogs and had a delicious meal that wasn't overpriced. Only thing that could be kept on top of and emptied more was the industrial skip provided for people's waste. During our stay, really full and then overflowing by the time we left which attracted flies but it was out of the way from the camp and caused us no issues, just visually wasn't pleasing. Every morning we were woken by cows, which was very nice as I love cows! I'd definitely visit again!

Birthday break

The camp site was as expected. There was a Morrisons local 10 min walk from camp. Toilet and showers are communal and was a bit disappointed not to be greeted at the site. Another camper had to let me in, as when booking, the site would only seem to take my wife's number so I didn't get the key code for the gate.

Lovely site

Such a lovely site. I stayed here with my two young children. We had a grass pitch with electric. Our pitch size was great, plenty of space for our tent and for the kids to have space to play. The facilities were clean and warm. Lovely scenery surrounding with views of cows and sheep. My children loved looking at them in the surrounding fields. So quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this site.
