Wildman Woods offers a back to basics, almost wild camping stay in the western Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog). For tent and hammock campers, there are woodland and field glades across five acres of native woodland. Glamping bell tents and ready tents are available, with beds, outdoor kitchens and private fire pits. Set by the River Sawdde, guests can enjoy a relaxing paddle, with the Beacons Way footpath passing by too!

About the site

Great for outdoor adventures, this site is a remote location in the western Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog). The site is located along the popular Beacons Way footpath, home to Jacob sheep, geese and chickens. The pitches are set across five acres of woodland, with areas dotted across woodland and field glades. Pitches are non electric and wild-style, with a 'pick your own pitch' approach. If you are travelling light, the site offers both off-grid bell tents and safari-style ready tents. Each come with beds and futons, just be sure to bring along your own bedding. Outside, you will have a fire pit area with wooden stools, along with a fire pit and grill with pots and pans supplied. Dogs are welcome on the camping pitches, just please ensure they are kept on the lead.

There is a compost loo in the woodland, plus toilets and showers by the lake. Guests can use the river for washing up. There is access to spring water, with firewood for sale. Limited WiFi can be briefly available by the main house.

Activities/sessions are sometimes available, including cooking, pizza making, clay pot making, bushcraft and weaving.

The Limes Store is a 20 minute drive away for any essentials. Y Castell in Llangadog (20 minutes) will be your nearest restaurant.

Bell tent in a secluded glade with beds. Outdoor awning, hammock, fire pit/grill, log seats, kitchen area, pots, pans and Dutch oven. Pet free.

2 x Ready Tents

Max 4 people

Sleeping four with one double bed and two single mattresses. Please bring your own duvet and bedding. Outdoor kitchen with fire pit/BBQ. Shared facilities nearby.

Things to do on site and in the Llangadog area

The site sits beside the famous Beacons Way. Guests can wander along nearby paths into ancient oak woods or to Llyn Y Fan Fach lake for wild swimming!

Just a ten minute drive from the site is the Red Kite Feeding Station at Llanddeusant. From a hide, you can quietly watch red kites, buzzards, and ravens swooping down for food. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy wildlife up close.

Head 20 minutes away to Carreg Cennen Castle, dramatically perched on a 100m limestone cliff. This partly ruined fortress offers grand views across the valley.
