Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2026

We had a great 3 nights at Cefn Coed. Fantastic location with access to the river and 20 mins away from the beach or parking for mountains. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We also used the onsite sauna which was excellent and incredibly peaceful! Would definitely recommend and would happily stay again

Had a really good time at this site, the forest location was perfect for a little peace and quiet. The facilities were clean and the bar was excellent for a drink at night, we also ate at the bar which was very good, we cycled on the mawdach bike trail to Barmouth and also to Dolgellau which is close to the site. The george lll pub is close also and worth a visit. This site is highly recommended and will definitely booking again.

Very magical place! Breath-taking views around. The pitch was amazing! Private, quiet and tranquil. The bar area and pizza was an awesome addition. Staff were great! My only criticism is that for the size of the campsite, there isn't enough facilities. Campsite was very busy and only 3 showers and toilets. I think for the price you have to pay there should be more because every time I went to the toilet there was a crowd of people. The facilities were very clean though. Also, parking was a bit stressful but it's only because it was very, very busy.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

The location lovely. However, the toilets and showers quite far, and mixed, with washing sinks where people were washing socks in the sink designated for dishes. In the morning, there was a big queue for the toilets as not many for the amount of people staying, was gents and ladies together. Which is another no for us. We chose this especially for camp fire and BBQ, and when we got there there, these were suspended, and it would have been nice to be notified via email this was suspended, as not really prepared for only gas. Lovely people and place, but facilities a bit disappointing.

Brilliant place for escape from city. View are amazing. It's a quiet place, far from the noisy city. The only thing you might find fault with is the cleanliness of the toilets. If you're booking this woodland wild spot, just be aware of how large the area is. Apart of that is really worth it. Lots to visit around.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan PitchesJul 2026

What a magical place to stay for a few nights. A friendly welcome in arrival and having food on site was amazing when we arrived at 7:30pm. Food is delicious! Pitch was lovely. Flat with a gravelled surface and surrounded by trees. Access to beautiful walks on the doorstep. Facilities were excellent, clean - at the top of the hill though, so if you have any mobility issues, this may be a consideration but for us not a problem at all. Would highly recommend!

Lovely, clean facilities and kind service! Felt really homely! Loved our woodland pitch, though I'm regretting not getting a fire pit as the mosquitoes enjoyed me! Quiet and relaxing, pizza was great!

Was a very nice campsite but a shame the facilities are right at the top of the hill and no clear water point, apart from the one pointed out to us at the top of the hill.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan PitchesJun 2026

We had a forest campervan pitch, lovely, peaceful with greenery all around. Campfires allowed. We don't camp in a tent but if we did we would definitely come and have a forest pitch, they looked really cool. The walk to the estuary is lovely and a nice walk either way you turn. The pizzas and drinks from the on site woodland bar were great. We are new to campervanning and are finding out which type of sites suit us and this is a definite plus.

We have been camping a handful of times but here was somewhere we will return and recommend. Great pitches in the woodland that are well spaced out for privacy, lovely estuary walk, they have a cute bar and pizza oven where you can get a drink and some food. The showers and toilets are well maintained! The staff were friendly and cared about maintaining clean facilities. No negatives from us! We saw some wildlife too, we had a frequent Robin, a vole and some other birds. We were able to rent a firepit for £5 p/n. I would just advise ensuring your rubbish is discarded in the bins provided regularly and ensure your tent is zipped up properly though the night as we had a few friends that managed to get into our tent in the night. But that was down to us not sealing our tent properly.

Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

Dispute the weather and having to leave early as my dog (chihuahua) didn’t appear to like the camping life style haha. The place was gorgeous the lady who I spent on arrival was great. Very helpful. Advised me where the estuary was.once I found it. It was stunning. Though I did walk up a path way and was on the main part was for 10 mins and when I come back my path had flooded so I had to walk through the water which I found quite funny and part of the adventure just be mindful of this though. Glad I wasn’t any longer who know how deep it could get. Facilities were great. Can imagine it getting quite busy on high season. Toilets were about a 5 walk from my camp spot. I was on a field with two gate I had to go through. Upon exploring next time I go back I will pick a woodland area to pull up in as these seemed great. I think I will try wild camping here at some point as I’m new into camping etc so I think it’ll be a great place to start and try it out. If the weather was better and I hadn’t had the dog I would have gone and done a few hike. Great place. Definitely recommend it.

We have been here twice now at Easter. It's a really lovely woodland camping place on the estuary. Lots of walking and cycling from the door. Lovely local pub George 3rd nearby for a roast. The onsite bar and food is great and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Beautiful natural bliss!

A great wild camping spot…the individual pitches in the woodland were very cute. Needs a bathroom down in the camping field…that would really be great. Pizza and drinks in the evening at the ‘inside outside’ was very lovely…the pizza man was really accommodating and kind. Will definitely be back…super beautiful place to be

Magical place. Camped for 3 nights with my dog. It feels almost like wild camping, but staff and facilities are there if you need them. Easy access to walks along the estuary and through the woods. Hope to return soon.

Large Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent PitchesMar 2026

Brilliant campsite surrounded by plenty to do, especially with Barmouth being a 20 minute drive down the road. The forest camping section was perfect, as it was secluded and added ambience to the experience. The facilities were better than we expected, the showers had decent pressure and heat to them. The site had everything you needed from fire pits, a washroom and fresh drinking water. The team who run the site also gave us a hand with jump starting one of the cars. 10/10 site and service 👍

Very friendly staff who responded quickly to our questions. Showers and toilets beautifully clean. Pizza on Friday was delicious. Lovely eateries in Dolgellau. Great local walks. We plan to go again.

We loved the idea of the campsite, and much of it was brilliant. But there's only 3 showers and 4 toilets for the entire site, and they are mixed gender. Once the site provides better washing and toilet facilities, this site will be amazing!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent PitchesAug 2025

We had a wonderful weekend at Cefn Coed. We booked a woodland pitch which was amazing. Very quiet and peaceful - felt lovely to be in the woods. Facilities were fab - plenty of clean toilets, bathroom sinks, sinks for dishes etc. We didn't use the showers but they looked great. We hired a firepit for both nights for a great price (£5 a night) which really added to the experience. Staff were really friendly and there was usually someone around at all time if you needed anything. A short walk through the camp led to the estuary and a small stream which we went paddling in! Scenery was absolutely breathtaking and just a 5 mins walk from camp. Amazing. My partner had never been camping before (I've been camping all my life!) and he loved it! We will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends and family. Loved our weekend.
