A very pretty spot, couldn't have asked for friendlier owners. There were a few large groups near us, so not the quietest stay.

The location is great for where we wanted to go. However, the site itself was so overcrowded, there was hardly anywhere to pitch both nights. Literally sitting on top of other campers, so it was far from peaceful, which is how I feel camping should be. We ended up right by the cow barn which was awful as could hear them all night, along with the smell. The shop was dreadful, really run down, and would hardly call it a shop really. There was hardly any stock. The pizzeria was also dreadful, it came over an hour late and was literally burnt to a crisp. I thought it was inedible to be honest. The area around the site was the most shocking thing. There was rubbish everywhere, cats roaming everywhere. It looked dirty and run down and parts of it should definitely be hidden. General tidy up should be in order. Shower rooms where ok, cleaner then the actual site. All in all, we wouldn't return here, not peaceful. Not clean and not somewhere we would stay again.
Beautiful spot

Lovely site, quite busy but noise died down by 11pm. Toilets and showers were great and could do with a few more hooks/shelves to place clothes and items out of the wet. It was a bonus to have the little caravan serving hot food, drinks on Friday evening, Saturday morning and Sunday evening - perfect!
Great find!!

There was a shortage of showers and the ones that I used did not drain very well. But that aside, the campsite was great. A nice, quiet back to basics in a great setting and all the tent pitches were on level ground too. What I really enjoyed was the location, the warm welcome and the ease of getting to other parts of the Peak District from there. It is also one of the few campsites that allows bookings for just the one night over the weekend. Hopefully be back again soon.

I took my 11 year old grandson camping for the first time, he absolutely loved it. He was always off on his bike and I didn't see him for hours. The site was well laid out with good facilities which were extremely clean and well maintained, fabulous views over Lathkill Dale. Loved the fire pit, sat for hours with a glass of beer in the evening, so peaceful. I would recommend the site to everyone. My grandson is already asking when we can come back. See you soon.

Spent a weekend here, just 2 nights with a group of friends. Had a small shop for drinks/snacks/logs. Toilets/showers were good and not too crowded. Owners were really friendly and even provided recommended spots to visit. Firepit hire was worth it. Make sure to bring firelighters/kindling as they only sold logs.

Campsite was lovely and loads of space for everyone, facilities were nice and new. Unfortunately, the locks were faulty, causing some of us getting stuck in the toilet. The staff and team where super friendly and great with everything. 100% would recommend and stay again.
Lovely site but questionable plumbing

Beautiful views from the site and a public footpath down into the Lathkill Dale. The plumbing in the toilet block was not great and was blocked for most of our stay. However, the main shower block was nice enough and the toilets flushed!
Beautiful surroundings and value for money

A super campsite, very informal and very quiet considering the number of plots. Super views from the back field and some fabulous walks from the campsite. Lovely, friendly owners who had time to chat and to give out suggestions for walks and more. A few more toilets would make it perfect but it is amazing value and we will definitely stay again.

Use the main toilet block (with the showers) as we were politely advised on arrival. The other, more conveniently located, block has toilets that take 5 to 10 minutes to refill. Whilst they should try to resolve this issue, facilities are acceptable/good overall. Beautiful location. Lovely staff clearly all working hard. It's a big site, so of course you're more likely to have at least a few inconsiderate fellow campers, but the atmosphere was generally really friendly. Unfortunately, the first night we could hear a very loud group joking, laughing and playing music right through until sunrise!

This is a big site over 4 fields, was lively. In a great location with some fantastic views. Pitches not marked out so people did camp a little close and noisy to the early hours. Overall, a great campsite, you just need to stick you elbows out when setting up your pitch 😂
Lovely quiet campsite, facilities adequate

We stayed here for 1 night with our dogs, it was a last minute booking and definitely value for money. When we arrived the reception wasn't open but we rang the owner (Amy), who was very helpful. You can camp wherever you like in any of their fields, we chose a lovely spot that had amazing views. The toilet block on the lower camping field was good to have as main block is a slight walk away. We both wished we could have stayed an extra night or two, will definitely recommend and come back again. Perfect spot to visit Bakewell town! Absolutely loved it.

Excellent site, surprisingly quiet in the evening.my birthday weekend was awesome. Not badly priced. Bins needed emptying but that is a minor niggle. We were self sufficient so cannot speak for facilities. Good walk from the site along the river to Youlgreave where we had a nice drink.
Good views and location but lacking facilities

Good location and beautiful views of a working farm. Had plenty of space to pitch with 5 fields to choose from. However, only one shower block (3 showers) and 2 toilet blocks (8 toilets total) was not enough for the volume of guests as had to queue, and flushes stopped working and were dirty. Showers were good and powerful and warm. Washing up station good but water pressure bad. Shop/reception didn't open in the mornings, which wasn't useful as I feel it could profit well from having milk/breakfast stuff so we were stuck until we could leave the site. Good site for caravans but not the best for tents.
Lovely campsite!

Lovely campsite, close to lots of towns and places to visit. I stayed with my 9 year old child and felt very safe as a solo woman traveller. It's very family friendly, but without being a big commercial campsite. Nice welcome from the reception upon arrival. Lots of nice walks nearby and incredible scenery. I pitched in the furthest field so we could enjoy the beautiful views from our tent. I also really liked that you're able to choose where you pitch rather than being pre chosen. My only feedback would be that it could benefit from a warden to go round and tell people to be quiet after 11pm (most people were quiet after the cut off but we were unfortunately next to quite a loud group on the first night). It also wouldn't hurt if there were a few more toilets for the size of the campsite as there were often queues! Other than that though, I thought it was a brilliant campsite and would definitely stay again!
Decent site for visiting the Peaks

Good site, bit hit and miss as to where tents versus vans/caravans park which I think should be slightly clearer. Amazing location for visiting other places like Bakewell and Chatsworth. Owners and their family were very pleasant and always willing to help. Sorted out a potential problem with loud youths really quickly.
Brilliant campsite

We had a great weekend camping. The facilities were clean. We arrived on a Thursday and had loads of space to set up in. The children were kept occupied with tyre swings and playing in the trees. We did a lovely walk from the campsite, and it's also really close to Bakewell and other good places to visit.
