Golden Cap Holiday Park offers a perfect location on the Jurassic Coast, next to Seatown Beach and surrounded by 2,000 acres of National Trust land. The park offers a mixture of grass and hard base pitches for tourers, motorhomes, campervans and tents, as well as luxurious glamping pods. It's dog and family friendly and the South West Coast Path passes the park entrance.

We were delighted to arrive here. It is a lively, well kept campsite with a fantastic view across the sea. There is a well stocked camp shop, with coffee available. The toilet, shower and washing blocks were always clean. We were there when there were issues with one of the blocks shower pressure and temp, but this was fixed the following morning. You can't ask for more! We camped in the berries field, which is the furthest point from anything, however there is a portable toilet block in the middle of the field and plenty of water taps. And the view is fabulous! The field is quite hilly, but there seemed to be plenty of places to pitch, which were fairly flat. You can walk to the local beach from the campsite, which takes around ten mins. There is a really nice pub right on the beach. We ordered pizza, which was about £12 per pizza and arrived very quickly. Great location too, near to Lyme Regis.

The views and location were outstanding, perfectly located for a short walk to the beach and a short drive to town. The facilities were good although the shower block located closest to the Big Berries were in need of some maintenance. One of the shower cubicle doors didn't lock and the other one's drain didn't work. Both not ideal for a public shower block. The main block closer to reception was much better laid out and better standard of facilities.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We do apologise about the drain and the toilet which are now fixed.

We had a brilliant time here! Loved the fact you could pitch up anywhere in the field. The facilities were great - lots of toilets, always clean. Showers were warm, flooded the floor slightly, which made getting dressed a bit trickier but maybe drains just needed a bit of a clear? Great walk down to the beach - a perfect location. Some other great beaches around to visit, so was great for exploring! Wasn't noisy at night. Little shop well stocked on site. This was our first big camping experience and we are so pleased we picked such a great site! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Stayed on Big Berries field with no allocation of pitches, but it was ok and not too crowded. The field was sloping so not perfect, but it had lovely views of the sea and countryside.

My wife and 4 children stayed on the campsite for 3 nights and had an excellent break. It was really clean, friendly campsite. The Spar shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Friendly staff on site. The beach is so close and fun was had by all.

All is gorgeous, only one thing: the facilities are too far from the accommodation.

Great place to stay in a fantastic location. Little confusing in terms of where Red Berries Field was, could do with some better signage. We ended up needing to move after the first night as in the wrong place. The man who informed us was really lovely, and actually helped us move our airbeds which was such a relief as it was so hot. It is a fantastic campsite we will definitely be back too. Loved the nearby beach and the Anchor Inn is a great pub.
Site's response
Thank you for the very positive review about your stay, we are pleased that our team member was able to assist you moving when you pitched in the wrong area. Unlike the main electric field, Big Berries is a huge field without marked out pitches.

I brought my 4 year old daughter here for a start of summer 'girls trip'. We stayed in a classic pod which was perfect - no set up required, very clean and convenient. We had loads of space for all of our beach supplies as well as loads of things I'd brought that we didn't end up needing! We were incredibly fortunate with the weather and spent all our time at the beach. We were able to buy pastries and hot drinks from the shop for breakfast and then reload to wander down to the beach for the day. The shop sold beach shoes at a fantastic price which we realised were necessary half way through our first day of battling to walk over the pebbles. With beach shoes, it was easy and enjoyable! The staff were always friendly and helpful. The children's play area was great fun and perfect for my adventurous 4 year old (probably the youngest age to be safe on it). The facilities were kept clean and well stocked (no need to use the toilet paper we had brought) and the stay was incredibly easy. The site felt very safe and secure - perfect for a small child to feel independent. We had a wonderful stay and are planning a return visit as soon as dates become available. We plan on making this an annual trip.

Very nice site with all facilities available. Showers kept very clean. The site is quite literally on the beach with a lovely pub, there's seafood available plus pizza and ice cream, and even a sauna - just perfect. I would definitely recommend you visit this fab site.

Great park and wonderful staff, all very pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. We were booked on a grass pitch but due to dreadful weather before we arrived, we were seeing campervans being towed off the pitches and the staff were absolutely fantastic! They helped my husband push our trailer tent onto a pitch to save the grass being turfed up by our car. When we were walking in the holiday park or when we saw any of the staff, they always had a friendly word & waved. It was quiet, clean and the facilities were always clean and fresh.

What a beautiful campsite, so close to the sea, surrounded by beauty and mountains! We had beautiful sunshine and enjoyed walking, hiking, SUP, swimming in the sea and were fortunate to take our dog with us. Campers were respectful and friendly, facilities were clean, enough and perfect camping space. There's a lovely spot for the dogs to run around as well to burn off energy. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for the fantastic feedback on your stay. There is lots of National Trust land surrounding the park and a dog walking area. We do say check on restrictions on the beach before as dogs are not allowed on the beach between April and 1st November.

Was a lovely site with great amenities. Was well cleaned and maintained by staff. The pitch was a great size and we were next to the children's playground area. Only disappointment was the pizza ran out so quickly (15mins) so we ended up having to wait for 45 mins elsewhere to get food which was not ideal with small children. It would have been useful to tell guests to order as opens or they cater for larger numbers. That aside was great, beautiful location.

Absolutely loved this campsite. We went in the school summer holidays and although there were a lot of campers, there was plenty space. I didn't find the showers super busy as I expected at this time of year. The camping field has a beautiful view of the sea and the cliffs sloping down to the beach. There were several different options for accommodation if you weren't camping, all of which looked really nice in beautiful surroundings with natural landscaping. The little shop was well stocked and the pub by the beach looked really nice, although we didn't get time to go in there. Beach was great for paddle boarding. The highlight was the walk over the cliffs to West Bay, we got a taxi back as it was too far for my youngest to walk back. The only downside was the walk to the facilities from the camping ground but that really is all.
