A fab little campsite on the edge of the New Forest

When looking for a short break in the New Forest we researched which campsites were good and this one came up. I have to say, it did not disappoint! The site itself was beautifully laid out, the toilets and showers were some of the best we've experienced, there is a fab little coffee cart on site with great coffee and pastries and the Thai restaurant and takeaway was a lovely surprise and had great food! The location is between Alderholt and Fordingbridge and there is a fabulous walk through part of the Forest to Alderholt where you'll find a Hall & Woodhouse pub. We tried to walk to Fordingbridge but unfortunately couldn't follow the route on the map provided so ended up at a beautiful garden centre near the campsite for coffee and cake! Overall, a wonderful stay and I thoroughly recommend a visit!

Excellent campsite!

Great site, very smooth self check in and smart meters. Location was perfect for us as a small young family. 30minutes from Paultons park, 40 minutes from beaches and just around the corner from fordingbridge and the new forest. Lovely dog walk to the local pub through the woods. Would definitely return.

Lovely stay at Hill Cottage Farm

Absolutely loved our stay at Hill Cottage Farm Camping! The site itself is peaceful, well maintained, and surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The pitches were spacious and facilities clean, with everything we needed for a comfortable camping trip. But the real highlight? The Thai restaurant on site — genuinely the best Thai food we’ve ever tasted. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavour, cooked fresh, and served with a warm welcome. A total hidden gem and worth the trip just for the food alone. Highly recommend this place, a brilliant combination of nature, tranquility, and incredible dining. We’ll definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Camping

Quite and peaceful if your looking to just relaxed.

Quiet and relaxed site

Close to the New Forest and 30 minutes from the sea. Very quiet, well maintained and very clean although my husband said the gents needed a bit of care. Showers were very hot, almost too hot and no mirrors apart from in the ladies. We felt safe and had a very happy six days.

Wonderful

Great location, not too big a site, peaceful and very clean. The showers and toilets were immaculate. Lovely helpful ladies on site when we needed spares for our caravan and the shop prices were fair too. Loved the serviced pitch and only paying for the electricity we used. Enjoyed the onsite Thai restaurant too. Lovely woodland walk for the dog and a bonus to have ponds to fish in for my son. We'll definitely be back. Only problem we encountered was signage from the road - it's very discrete - our sat nav sent us up the road, so just anticipate the farm is just before sat nav tells you.

Lovely quiet site (stayed out of school holidays)

Very efficient automated entry and pitch allocations. Good walking and cycling close by. Pitches mainly level. Automated electric system very easy to use. WiFi signal not great.

Great base to explorer the New Forest

Cracking site to explorer the New Forest. Large, private pitches, immaculate site and facilities. No on site bar/entrainment but that's not what this place is about. They do however have a great Thai restaurant/takeaway, I highly recommend the duck curry!

Nice and relaxing stay

My daughter and I stayed for 1 night but I wish it was more. Facilities were clean and tidy, showers were hot and the site was tidy. We will be returning. ☺️

Great hardstanding pitches

Stayed on a fully serviced pitch, plenty of space to put out awning and still had grass to put the seats in the sun. First time I have stayed at a site with PAYG electric and put £12 on when I arrived and still had some left when I left 6 days later. This was including having a big fan on most of the time for the 30 degree heatwave we had. Site is a great location for getting out and about in the car and the best dog walk area I have seen, all shaded and parts go into the woodland, so could walk the dogs even when the sun was out. Water pressure on pitch was great and showers were powerful and hot. Nice little pop-up coffee bar open during the day and a Thai takeaway open 4 nights a week. Would go back here again. Wi-Fi was very poor but they are sorting this out over the next few weeks so hopefully that will help. Three network very bad signal for those thinking about perhaps doing some work from the van, but meant we had to just chill and have a glass of wine or 2 so not a bad thing 😜

Excellent location with good facilities

The site was well looked after and a good standard of cleanliness, although we were surprised how many people seem comfortable to leave their mess behind rather than leaving the facilities as they would like to find them. There was Wi-Fi, however, my phone could not detect it very often and we were quite close to the toilet block. On a positive note, O2 and Vodafone 4g was reasonable, so Wi-Fi was not that much of a problem. There was only 2 washbasins in the toilets in the camping field, which were quite busy at times, however, there was another toilet block with more facilities not too far away. Electric was on a prepayment system which seemed to work well - you can see your balance and top up on line as you need to. We put on £5 before we arrived and that lasted us the entire 9 nights. There were excellent walks from the campsite and Aderholt was within walking distance. The on-site shop had a few basic supplies. There was an on-site Thai takeaway which also did fish, nuggets chips etc as well. Other campers said the Thai food was good but we did not try it.

Great site, lovely pitches and surroundings

Great site, lovely pitches and surroundings, poor electric management system. Lovely campsite. The hedges around each serviced pitch is a lovely touch and makes your pitch much more private. The neighbouring forest is beautiful and we walked through it a few times. The Thai takeaway on site was really good too. The only issue we had was the so-called "e-pitch" which is an internet based electric pre-pay meter. The experience of using this system was very confusing, non-responsive, and the app does not work at all, so you have to use a browser which will not let you remember login info. But other than that, we had a lovely time.

Absolutely nothing negative to say about this site. All staff were lovely and pitches and facilities so clean. Will be returning as soon as we are able. Sue, Dave and Poppy 🐾

Family weekend

Easy check in and check out. Extended checkout on the day to 2pm which meant time for cooked breakfast before packing up at our own pace. Lovely big pitches and spacious green for the kids to play. Nice and quiet after 10.30pm. Shower and toilet facilities very modern and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely use this site again.

Lovely weekend away

We absolutely loved our stay this weekend. My only suggestion would be to turn down the shower temperature - it was so hot!

Our stay

Just starting out on our camping adventures and found this site on an online search. We were looking for a dog friendly quiet site, with all the normal facilities including pitch side electric hook-up, and we were not disappointed. The on site shop has all the basics and the toilets and showers were spotless.

Lovely stay

We came away for a few days break and it was just what we expected - quiet, good location, lovely amenities.

Hill cottage farm

Very clean and tidy site, took a little while too get used to the pre payment meters as we've never used them before and was wondering if the meter had money on it but obviously was fine. Lovely big pitches but make sure you have plenty of hose as the post is far away from the van but luckily enough the shop sold accessories to purchase an add on .. Would definitely use again 10/10.

Amazing Stay

Amazing place. Clean, friendly with lots of space. Added bonus a Thai restaurant/takeaway on site. Best curry I've ever tasted. Showers were the best I've encountered. I will be returning and would recommend.
