Peaceful

Very beautiful and remote location. Tent and bedding was very comfortable and the kitchen area spacious. There were a couple of things we'd of found handy such as an extra cooking pot and utensils (for cooking not BBQ) Had some trouble with the solar power, it seemed to drain our devices in order to charge itself.. possibly our own fault though. We also had no signal on site which was ok but some leaflets or maps of the local area would of been handy for us. The heat from the fire did struggle to heat up the whole tent though, so it did get quite cold in the night as the beds are on the opposite side. Lovely site though, very peaceful and clean.

The perfect place

The setting was absolutely perfect. A tent by the river in the woods. You couldn’t wish for a more perfect place.

Great private camp

The camping that we love. Completely private, wild-style camping but with luxury of own toilet and hot shower and an outdoor sheltered kitchen. The extras make a huge difference to camping in a small tent. Lots of lovely scenery and walks and a short drive to Crickhowell if you fancy a bit of civilization. Beautiful river near camp. The Llangenny pub wasn't open when we stayed. Our host was helpful and available by WhatsApp but left us to enjoy and relax. We shall come back! If you go, be sure to pack extra warm clothes as the forest is quite cool, lots of camp fires required!

Fantastic secluded site in a beautiful location

This is a beautiful spot, very secluded with a small river nearby which you can hear to lull you to sleep! There is a dedicated fire pit, sink/covered area, as well as toilet and a shower. The site has parking at the main entrance gate, so you need to walk 2 mins down/up a hill to access the pitch - just something to keep in mind if you're like us and don't seem to be able to pack light! It is so peaceful, gorgeous with all the bluebells, no phone signal - and just a short distance to Crickhowell and 15 minutes to Abergavenny if you do want to see nearby towns or otherwise get supplies. Marc is very helpful and thoughtful, great communication. I strongly recommend this beautiful site and will happily return!

Winter camp

We had a great stay over at The Hiding Place! Just what we wanted…an escape from the day-to-day! It was a very chilly weekend but the tent was well-equipped for the cold 😀 We enjoyed a lovely meal at the pub on our first evening. Walked up to Sugar Loaf in the sunshine on the Saturday and enjoyed a cosy evening, cooking in the outside kitchen 😀 Loved the fire, which was very much needed!

Great wild camping experience

Great opportunity for a wild camping feel with access to a shower, toilet and sink still! Marc was very attentive over WhatsApp. Lovely area with plenty of walks around. Recommend!

Unreal site, great host and great facilities

Unreal location, host was great and sorted us right out.

An excellent campsite

The pitch was a good size. We easily fitted an 5 man tent and the kitchen area was very useful with running cold water. The facilities were clean, easy to use and right next to the pitch. There is also plenty of off road parking a short walk from the pitch. Would throughly recommend for a hiking getaway. The local pub is very friendly and does good food and beer. We will be returning.

Beautiful, secluded and peaceful

Absolutely beautiful site right next to the running river. A great place to decompress and relax in the peace and quiet. Marc was brilliant and moved me out of the normal campsite to the pre-set up tent area due to expected bad weather which never came thankfully. He greeted me as I was setting up and brought me firewood and drinking water. He really has done exactly what I was after. A nice, secluded area where I was on my own. Where I could light a fire, play some music and be away from my day to day life. Would definitely come here again.

Beautiful nature

Very nice and hidden camping site. Clean and good facilities like a fire pit, shower with warm water, sink to wash the dishes and a nice flat part to pitch a tent.

A brilliant wild camping spot. Can hear the river, which is very nice and they had a hot, private shower.

Amazing site, very relaxing

Amazing, relaxing and quiet (apart from the river!!). This site was just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of a very busy life. Darcy the dog loved the field and the river. We loved the fact that you could have a campfire every night, and a warm tent using the tent fire. Bed could've been a bit higher, but then that's my old creaky bones talking, was fun watching me getting up in the morning. Could have had a few more kitchen utensils for those wanting to cook, but we had our own, so was not an issue. Correspondence was amazing, any questions were answered very quickly. I would thoroughly recommend this site if you want to get away from the world, and technology- we had no phone signal on site, but this was not an issue - we actually talked! There are not enough words to describe this place, we loved it. Thank you, thank you, thank you xxx

Perfect 'Hiding Place'

What a fantastic location! Beautiful position next to the river and woodland. Very comfortable and well equipped camp!

Camping without any setting up

A quiet secluded site by the river. A comfy warm bed and good site facilities. We would book this again.
