About the site
A dog and family friendly eco campsite with hot showers and flushing loos. Spend days exploring the coast, with Crackington Beach just a five minute drive away, along with the popular seaside resort of Bude within 20 minutes. There are only ten pitches over two areas, one being larger with seven pitches and focused around a pretty central communal area with tables and seating, the second being tucked behind and overlooking a field often used for sheep and cattle. Pitches measure a minimum of 8m x 6m and allow up to eight guests. Tents, trailer tents, roof tents and campervans are all welcome! Our 5m furnished Bell Tent with king sized bed offers a hassle free option, bring your own towels and bed linen to keep costs lower, or choose the deluxe option and let us provide linen, towels, a gas cooking stove, pans, plates, cutlery, chairs and more. Just arrive, relax and enjoy! Camp beds provided for up to two children, please bring your own duvets, pillows and covers for children. Our very well-insulated shepherd's hut offers a cosy, self-contained retreat for two, blending the charm of simple living with the comforts of a thoughtfully designed space. Inside, you'll find a comfortable double bed, a log burning stove, two wicca chairs with a foldable table, and an outside fire pit, alongside our usual campsite facilities (a short walk away). For evenings unwinding under the stars, you will be treated to your own complimentary fire pit. There is also a communal seating area, perfect for enjoying a picnic or chatting with other campers. If you want to venture off site, there is plenty to do within a short drive. Tintagel Castle, St Nectan's Waterfall and Rocky Valley are all within 25 minutes, along with a range of family friendly attractions including Bude Sea Pool, Hidden Valley and Trethorne Leisure Park. The coast path is just a 5 minute drive away with spectacular walks and views. This rural campsite is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and as there is so little light pollution, so the sky is truly spectacular on a clear night. The campsite is set within the grounds of Trelay Farm which is a 32 acre smallholding run as an intentional community by residents who aim to tread lightly on the land. Canine companions can also join you for your stay, with up to two pups permitted per pitch. Please note that dogs are not permitted inside the Bell Tent. The site is also certified with the Greener Camping Club so at least one guest per pitch must be a member, though this can be purchased when you book. It is only £12 for the year and gives access to hundreds of the greenest sites around the country, only one membership needed per pitch. The Greener Camping Club will also plant a tree for every membership purchased.
Trelay Campsite is open from 02/04 to 30/09. Pitches from £25/night for 2 people.
