Campsite aerial

Birchbank is a small campsite on a Lake District sheep farm, located on the fells between Coniston Water and the Duddon Estuary. The site has a small stream running through it which the children love to play in and is next to the fell, with footpaths and bridleways directly from the gate making it ideal for walking and cycling.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Lovely site, great location and easy to find - relatively basic, but in a charming and remote way not a Bear Grylls way. The camping areas could do with pitches being marked out to make it easier to pitch and find space, but it really is a lovely spot. The owners were lovely and very chatty and helpful.

Nice place in quiet, remote location

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

Nice place in quiet, remote location with beautiful sunsets just a short walk away. This farm provides clean facilities: showers/toilets, wash up point and fridge. I liked watching mornings and evenings on the farm, listening to the cows, sheep and other creatures making plenty of communication between themselves and reacting joyfully to the farmer's arrival (feeding time). It was nice change for somebody living in the town on a quite densely packed street.
