About the site


This peaceful and secluded site offers breathtaking scenery and is ten minutes from Dull and 15 minutes to Aberfeldy with Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery and Castle Menzies. Ideal for outdoor lovers, cyclists, hikers, and anglers, the site is conveniently located at the foot of Dùn Coillich, with access to Schiehallion and many areas of the surrounding Tay Forest Park. Being situated in a glen, you can enjoy mature woodlands, rolling hills, and nature, plus it's nestled 15 minutes from Glen Lyon, often described as the longest and best glen in Scotland and bordered by a deer park containing over 50 red deer. Onsite, there are backpacker pitches for those arriving on foot or bicycle, as well as small 5m x 8m and large 8m x 12m non electric grass pitches. For tourers, you'll find fully serviced 9m x 10m hardstanding pitches, each with a 16 amp electric hook up, water supply and drain. Please note that the large and small pitches are on the same field. For those who prefer glamping, there are three family-sized glamping pods and two accessible pods. Each pod features underfloor heating, a TV, a dining area, ensuite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge/freezer. The family-sized pods have two double beds, a bunk bed and two chair beds. The accessible pod can either have a super king or two single beds. Both pods also have a decking area outside with seating, perfect for enjoying al fresco dining. There is also a small complimentary welcome pack, including toilet paper, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and a gift. Please note that the family sized pods can sleep up to seven people (a maximum of four adults) in a communal living space. You'll find a shepherd's hut onsite offering fantastic views of the hills and adjacent deer park. Sleeping up to two on a double sofa bed, the hut is fully insulated and includes electricity, water and a kitchen sink. Seasonal pitches are available here too. Grab your morning coffee or treat yourself to a slice of cake from the cosy cafe on site, complete with a wood-burning stove, it's great for those chilly mornings. A handy onsite shop stocks your camping essentials. Up to three dogs are welcome on the pitches and in the glamping units. There are plenty of walks surrounding the site, along with a dedicated dog walk onsite. Raised BBQs are permitted. Sorry, campfires are not allowed here.

The site offers a facility block with toilets, showers and an accessible wet room with baby changing facilities. All glamping pods have access to their own toilets and showers. Guests will also have access to a coin-operated laundry room, an outdoor washing up area, a freezer for ice packs, and free WiFi from the amenity/reception area.

Children will enjoy the playing field, and there is a dog walking field too.

There is also a cafe/shop (open daily from late April to the last weekend of September) selling freshly ground coffees, teas, sweet treats, toiletries, bottled gas, and camping essentials. There's outdoor seating, and you can hire board games from here too. Nisa Local is ten minutes away, and Aberfeldy is a 15 minute drive with a range of restaurants and pubs!

We are Fiona and Andy. We own and run Glengoulandie Camping Caravanning and live in the cottage on the site. We have been fanatical tourers since 2007 and our style and personal touches reflect an amalgamation of all the good things we have liked about the hundreds of sites we have visited - as well as bringing a few unique features of our own.

We have a hands-on approach and take pride in the site - ensuring a homely but professional feel. We have an eco-friendly ethos and encourage visitors to recycle as much waste as humanly possible. The site operates a bio-waste sewage system. We are extremely laid back and easy-going and will do anything we can to ensure you enjoy your stay and have all your needs catered for.

The site is central to many of the stunning Scottish Munros. It is located at the foot of Dun Coillich, where you can find many beautiful marked walks, some of which lead directly to the Munro Schiehallion, plus it's home to over 70 species of birds, some golden eagles and black grouse.

Staying here, you are within easy reach of the areas of Tay Forest Park, the closest being a ten minute drive away. If you fancy venturing further, theres The Ben Lawers Loop (30 minutes), and the popular Cairngorms National Park and Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park (50 minutes), featuring a diverse network of cycling and hiking routes up Munros.

Aberfeldy is a 15 minute drive from the site and is home to a wide range of amenities, including shops, eateries and tourist attractions. Visit historic Castle Menzies (15 minutes), explore The Birks of Aberfeldy (15 minutes) or sample the local whisky at Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery (20 minutes).
