Clear filters Fabulous campsite
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) Aug 2022 We have stayed here several times before, mainly in the large field, once in the small field (past reception and the shower blocks etc), and this time in the first field on the left. In my opinion this is the worst field as it is on quite an incline unless you are one of the lucky ones who gets there first, and unfortunately for us, as a couple in their 50s, we managed to pitch up on the side where the kids play area is.
We don't mind the sound of kids playing but their parents shouting to them was a bit wearing.
The amenities at Barn Farm are excellent. There is a toilet block near the field we were in, further toilet block and showers, adult only shower rooms which are lovely, and also a games room, shop, and plenty of areas for pot washing. Everything is very well kept and clean.
There are 2 lovely pubs within walking distance and also plenty of walks nearby. This time we walked to Rowsley then on to Bakewell (approx 9 miles). We are hoping to stay again very soon.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2022 A fab site. Would have extended our stay if we had packed enough stuff for our onward journey and didn't need to return home soon.

Great stay
Large Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) Aug 2022 We love this place and go every year. Just returned and miss it already. Great walks locally. Clean, with excellent facilities. Always staffed well and impressively organised.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) Aug 2022 We had a brilliant stay. The staff are very friendly and the facilities are great. It is in a great location for walking and we enjoyed the food in the pub. We will be back to stay again.

Best camping week ever
Large Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) Aug 2022 The campsite was truly amazing - very family friendly. Staff always there to help when needed. Very clean. Kids enjoyed seeing the peacocks and alpacas.
Can't wait to visit again.
Great site
Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2022 Great facilities, always clean, showers always warm. Great location, plenty of amazing walks without having to drive anywhere, but close enough to Bakewell etc for trips out.
Pubs in walking distance are good, there are games a plenty to keep children, teenagers and adults happy. Definitely recommend, definitely returning.

Great site, plenty to do! Large Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Aug 2022 Fantastic well established site, where every little detail has been covered! Proper washrooms and toilets that are cleaned regularly.
Plenty to do for kids and had a food van, pizzas and a little bar over the weekend. So if you don't like cooking, you don't have to. Lots of nearby walks, a games room and outdoor toys for the kids. An on-site shop, which is very reasonably priced. Or if you fancy a short walk to the pub, there are 2 down the road. It can get busy, but there is lots of room. We are regular visitors to this site over many years and it's one we recommend for local camping!

Loved the hot food van and the wood fired pizzas. Saved me getting the stove out! Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be recommending to friends.

Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Aug 2022 Beautiful campsite! Stunning place photos don't do it justice, really nice and tidy site. The views are beautiful.
Only slight negatives were that the showers weren't warm and some of the dogs were noisy but it didn't affect us enough to not want to come again, everything else was perfect!
We can't wait to go again the kids loved it! We felt very safe also.

A well maintained site: dog friendly, good showers, toilets, children's play areas, shop, bacon butty van and mobile pub! Wood fired pizzas on a certain night looked great. 5 min walk to 2 pubs both serving food, but busy so need to book. Alpacas in the field were lovely to watch.
