Clear filters Camping trip Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 It's in a nice location, lots of walks to do and a couple of pubs within walking distance. The DofE kids are genuinely no bother at all you barely see them around the campsite. It's a busy campsite in general plenty of bricks for BBQ use.
It's on a vertical hill though, not a slight slope at all and the peacocks are so loud and constantly making noise. Other guests make noise all night long, it's so annoying so would be good if the site had security patrol and stop people screaming or playing music
Lovely long weekend Recommends site
Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 Lovely campsite in a great village with stunning views. Really good facilities, including a shop and communal fridge.
Will definitely be returning soon!

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Always a pleasure to stay here. Great location and good facilities.
The next camping field to us was full of young people doing Duke of Edinburgh award. Lovely to see young people enjoying themselves, we found all students polite and friendly.
Weather great whilst we were there, so ice cream van was an inspired idea.
Touring caravan stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 The site is reasonably located, to visit a number of places, such as Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth House. There are also a number if walks you can do from the site. The staff are very friendly and available to help when necessary.
The site appears to be well used for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and at times there must have been 80+ students there. All well behaved and no noise, but this means the washrooms can be very busy at peak times.
Be careful when using sat nav with a touring van as there is a very narrow road close to the village.
Good location twixt Matlock and Bakewell Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2025 Full stars says it all, will keep returning while able.

First time, will definitely be back Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 We went with the Hillside Owners meeting, loved every thing about this site. Beautiful walks, easy walk to local pub, bus stops close by (although we did not use) and views to take your breath away.
On reading reviews before we went, a lot of people mentioned the fact that there was a field for DOE students, I thought, oh, not sure about this! How wrong was I. Absolutely loved watching these very respectful young people setting up their tents, cooking, playing games, it was a delight to be reminded that most young people are very respectful.
A very unusual addition to the site was a security guard, walking round making sure everyone was considerate to each other. If one of my children had been staying at this site, I would have been so pleased knowing this gentleman was looking out for everyone, well done Barn Farm.
Beautiful place Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 My friend and I had a lovely stay at Barn Farm, just perfect. Gorgeous views, lovely little village with 2 nice pubs a short walk from the camp site, serving food.
Matlock, Ashbourne and Bakewell all a short drive away.
The campsite had a lot of bins dotted all around which were emptied regularly. Lots of toilets that are cleaned regularly and showers. Several washing up areas and even a space for drying clothes.
There is a lovely little shop on site which is handy if you forget anything or if you just want an ice cream. There is a games room and an outside play area for the kids. The peacocks and alpacas on the farm are a nice addition.
Plenty of field space, beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. Had a lovely weekend and hope to return soon.
Lovely stay in beautiful location Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 Lovely site with amazing views! We booked for one night previously and liked it so much we went back the following week!
Would recommend, lovely relaxing stay.
Loved seeing the peacocks and alpacas too!
We took our dog also and surrounding walks are great too!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location, we will definitely book again soon.
Campervan group weekend away Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Absolutely wonderful. Mark and the team work wonders looking after the site.
A great time was had by all. We will be back again for the 5th time next year.
The view, the wildlife, the location, all bind together to make a great location.
We had a fabulous time Recommends site
May 2025 We arrived on Friday evening! We loved looking at the free roaming peacocks walk around the park. It was really busy and staff were very polite and very accommodating.
The children enjoyed playing in the little outdoors area with badminton, basketball and ring toss. There was a very popular wood fire pizza van here Fri & Sat as it was a busy weekend. The next day we had issues with our electrics. The owner spent loads of time trying to help us and eventually we sorted out the problem with our trailer tent.
The children loved playing on their wooden play area and games room. The little shop was great for picking up the odd items you may have forgotten or needed. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked up. Everyone was polite and we had a fabulous stay and can't wait to come here again!
Thank you ☺️
Great campsite for families Recommends site
Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 Great place with great facilities!
Plentiful pot washing stations with lovely deep sinks, hot water, blue roll etc.
Plentiful toilets which never ran out of loo roll.
I only waited a few minutes for a shower room at peak time on a morning, and the shower room was great with a sink and mirror and hooks and a little bench to put stuff on.
Decent play area for kids and some kids toys set up.
A games room which we didn't use and communal fridge freezer etc.
I would definitely go back!
Excellent stay! Recommends site

Great facilities Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 Facilities very good, giving your own space and privacy in well appointed showers.
Toilets well located and kept clean.
Fantastic place Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Fantastic site, kids loved it. Facilities were great, only downside was that the showers were lukewarm at best. The place was spotless.
Would highly recommend.
Fantastic site Recommends site
Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 Highly recommended site. Friendly staff, well maintained; clean facilities, plenty of space and things for the kids to do in a great location.
Super facilities and location Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 Stayed for 3 nights over the May bank holiday weekend. We were particularly impressed with the facilities. There were several toilet blocks, pot wash areas and showers, all of which were clean, regularly maintained by staff and offered hot running water. There was also a well stocked shop with all essentials, and a pizza van making lovely pizzas on the Friday and Saturday night, as well as playground and games room for the kids.
The site was busy (expected on a nice bank holiday), with a lot of DofE groups (some tired looking teenagers plodding about in the evenings!) but all campers respected the expectations of quiet after 10pm, which was good for us with an early settling 4 year old.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had car trouble on the way, meaning we pitched up later than we intended, but they were very flexible and supportive of our issue. The location perfectly suited what we wanted, close to lovely towns and tourist attractions. The pubs in the nearby village were nice and we had a lovely meal at the Druid Inn one night.
Our pitch was slightly sloped, but not uncomfortably so, but there are plenty of flatter spots, we were just too late to get one. Be ready to see peacocks wandering around the fields, and hearing them making loud conversation from time to time at night.
Overall, the site was great, perfect for what we needed with a young child (couldn't get her off the playground!). We would definitely stay again if we were to come back to the area.
Fantastic for young families Recommends site
Large Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 Great few days over BH weekend (5x families).
The only negative was the UK weather one day. Will visit again soon!
Thank you ☺️

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 A really nice, well kept site set amongst some gorgeous countryside. A 5 minute walk to the local village pubs.
