Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Jo was welcoming. The standards of the cleanliness of the toilets and shower block were high. Lots of space in each pitch. A well stocked shop to buy essentials. Stunning views of the local area from the campsite.

Felt at home, welcomed, and enjoyed the peace

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

We felt very welcome in this well-kept site: the surroundings felt as remote and peaceful as possible in England. Jo and Marc were excellent hosts, making us feel welcome and cared for from the word go. All the facilities were very clean, and the location is superb. We felt the peace of the area, especially on the weekdays when there were only a few other campers present. Appreciated the info on local walks, with very helpful maps, as well as locations further away. Having the possibility of croissants for breakfast and pizza for evening meals some days, was very special. We knew there would be no phone signal before we came, so we were able to adapt easily, and it made the holiday better. Thank you, Stablefell Campsite!!

A wonderful first time at camping

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

We were new to camping and the Stablefell campsite couldn’t have been more perfect. Jo and her partner were warm and friendly hosts. The toilet/showers are clean and tidy and the outside washing up area as well. Their shop is full of essentials where we bought wood and kindling, coffees and pizzas for the Saturday which were delicious! The chickens and goats near the site are adorable and each tent pitch area is very spacious so there is plenty of room between each tent. We had a wonderful experience and would love to return in the future. There is a lovely walk to Semer Water lake from the campsite and we visited Aysgarth Falls and Hawes during our stay which are not far in the car. Thank you!!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

I had a lovely stay at Stablefell Campsite. I loved the quiet and beautiful surroundings. The campsite is remote and tucked away in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales, within a few hours after my arrival, I was able to let go of daily life thoughts. This was a solo trip and I spent the evenings just staring at the hills, the trees and listening to the sounds of birds, sheep, cows and horses. Really relaxing. Nice walks in the area, beautiful waterfalls to visit and Hawes is a lovely little town close by. The campsite is clean with spacious pitches and the other guests were really friendly. The hosts are very kind and helpful . I will definitely come back for a longer stay.

What a great find!

We really enjoyed our stay. Great location for Dales walks and Hawes. The site has everything you need and more...Saturday night Pizza Night was a treat. Clean facilities. Friendly hosts. Ample pitches with fire pits. Little shop for essentials and treats. Will definitely stay again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

Pitches are a great size with plenty of room to spread out around the fire pit if you wish. The facilities are modern and kept very clean. The highlight is the surrounding views, which are fantastic. It a lovely basic campsite, somewhat remote and is perfect for chilling out and enjoying the beauty of the dales. They also run a pizza night and croissant and coffee breakfast, both are great, but the croissants are warm and should absolutely not be missed! You are very close to the pretty village of Hawes, as well as Aysgarth Falls and just a half hour drive from the Forbidden Corner.

Lovely campsite nice and quiet. Liked having chickens wondering around the site. Nice extra touch with pizza and coffee on site. Having a fire pit was a bonus too. Toilets/showers very clean. Would definitely stay here again 😃🐓🐐

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

This is one of those reviews where you want to tell everyone how fantastic it was staying here, but also don't want anyone else to go because you want it all to yourself! The site was so lovely, we had a fantastic time getting away from it all. The owners were so helpful and informative about the site and surrounding areas, we will definitely be returning here.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

Joan was a great host. Even had to play nurse and get me and ambulance for a pre existing issue. She kept checking in on me when I didn't get back. I have family in larger surrounding area so used as base camp some days. Great amenities, nice patches with own fire and ample wood available. Right tucked out the way, so bring your walking boots as you will need them and plenty of wet weather gear as the weather is unpredictable around these parts. If you want to daily shop etc I'd say a vehicle is a must, however 3.5 mile along road is a wee village Bainsbridge with a cafe for day eating and bar/hotel for dinner and a pint. Tell them scotch fella by name jai ( j-eye ) said hello! Connecting buses to Hawes and other areas is situated here. 156 for the wee white bus. Selective time table on some villages and you need booking a day ahead but it opens up the dales to you. Now if trekking in IMPORTANT... only one bus and train combination gets you here. Google is misleading! Garsdale is the only stop on the Carlyle or Leeds line. You can get connection via bus (I was £100 on the way in on a taxi) and limited times so plan well and double check each day. It's still easy enough. Ideal for peace and quiet and outdoor kids who like to adventure as plenty small to medium walks and wildlife to be seen.
