Motorhome - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2025

Large site with plenty of space to move large motorhomes. The toilet and shower block look relatively new and were a nice size and gave nice hot showers. I really liked how they were separated rooms which is handy when you have kids but also nice for the privacy. It was also nice to be near the sea and the addition of the ice cream parlour definitely is a plus. I wasn't a huge fan of the permanent residents living on site and it would be much better for young kids if there was a play park added as there is plenty of room for one.

Loved it!

Camping Pod - Camping Pods (2 person, Dog Friendly)Mar 2025

We only stayed one night and we loved it. The pod was warm and comfortable, the king size bed was great, we got a good night sleep. We went for a walk in the evening along the water's edge, watched the sunset. In the morning, watched it rise from our pod! The facilities were so clean and never busy, easy to check in. There's a ice-cream shop on site, however, it shuts around 4pm and that's when we arrived so we missed out!

Excellent location & amenities.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Gravel PitchesMar 2025

We were recommended a stay at this campsite and they certainly delivered. Very clean showers/ toilets/ site, everything you need and more. There are 2 local pubs, both just a 5 min walk, and the Ski bar on the water's edge that serves fantastic pizzas etc. Fantastic & friendly staff recommended ***** 👍

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Gravel PitchesMar 2025

I feel quite mean with my rating because there was nothing wrong with the campsite at all. Wendy was a lovely, friendly and welcoming person and the site is really trying to cater for everyone. The toilets and heated wet rooms are really lovely. There's an ice-cream shop on site and its one of the few campsites that allows firepits. There are some lovely glamping pods and although it was under construction on our visit, there's a great caravan park emerging with some beautiful lodges going in. If I was planning on staying on the site for the duration of my stay, then I'd be happy, but I like to get out and explore, and that's where the problems are. On the drive up to the campsite, you find dozens of industrial units, littered with old scrap cars. It's an old mining town and it really feels like its been forgotten about. Everywhere is littered with rubbish. There are streams of water and stagnant areas of water that look heavily polluted, strange in colour and smell and again, littered with plastic and fly tipping. The beach, in parts, is meant to be haven to a plethora of wild birds, yet its heavily littered in old tyres, plastic and household rubbish. There's very little in the local village apart from a Londis and a working men's pub. The sea is full of wind turbines which go on for miles and there's a prison in Haverigg too. I'm used to The Lake District National Parks, with beautiful scenery, country pubs, stunning walks and tidiness. I think the council needs to invest heavily in Haverigg and Millom. There is a good few years worth of work to be done there.

Motorhome - Electric Gravel PitchesFeb 2025

A polite and helpful receptionist. The ground/path was a bit muddy, but as you would expect for this time of year. We had a nice big gravel pitch, no noise so no trouble sleeping and the showers were spacious. There was nowhere to dine apart from a Ski Bar at the next site. The fish and chips were available in the village, but only some days of the week. We took some back with us to our Motorhome and I can honestly say, they were delicious and not overly expensive. I do think the site price is slightly expensive for gravel and electric hook up.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesDec 2024

A lovely site but difficult to find if using a sat nav. The shower block was very clean and spacious. As a women showering alone, I felt much safer than in a traditional communal area. The added bonus was the dog washing area.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesOct 2024

We went mid October and found the site very pleasant for a night stay. We also found the site very nice, with the beach only 100 yards away, which had cracking views. The ice cream is very very nice.

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Gravel PitchesSep 2024

Lovely, quiet and peaceful, it was exactly what we needed. The staff were very friendly and explained everything we needed to know. The ice-cream on site is tasty too, the toilets and shower block were spotless and the site is dog friendly. Would we stay again? Most definitely!

Motorhome - Electric Gravel PitchesSep 2024

Our first time owning a motorhome. We chose to stay as only 1 hour from home. We learned a few things and felt comfortable. The site is lovely and clean. Toilet and shower blocks were very good. There was a laundry room if needed. Lovely coffee shop and ice cream on site. Overall, really enjoyed ourselves.

Motorhome - Electric Gravel PitchesSep 2024

A lovely campsite, very chill and ideal right by the beach for the dogs! The showers are nice and clean, the area was great for the dogs. Would have been nice if the coffee shop was open earlier than 10 am, and would also be great if somewhere served breakfast as the near restaurant doesn't open till noon, but we managed. Other than that it was great and would return!

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesSep 2024

We arrived after a torrential downpour which caused the site be severely impacted due to the roadways not being maintained properly. Most of the roadways look like they are made of quarry bottoms, making it difficult to walk around and keep things clean in the van. It would also be very helpful if the main roadways were better lighted in the evenings so that it was a lot easier to get around the site in the evenings. Apart from that, I have to say that we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely be back sometime in the future.
