Lovely Stay - really beautiful
VW-Type Campervan - Katy Electric Grass Pitch Feb 2024 A super lovely stay in the farm orchards.
Great facilities, really valued having an area where we could set up our gas stove and eating area.
Having heated bathrooms also makes such a difference when winter camping so that was a great touch. Also nice to have extra little touches like the kettle, we didn't have to get our stove out for a morning cuppa.
The thatched tavern (about 15 min walk away) was a stunning pub, as was the walk along the coast from there.
We also loved getting in the sea at Babbacombe beach for a cold winter dip and walking along for a coffee after.
A lovely little area and farm. It was super good value and we felt very comfortable there, we enjoyed sitting at the firepit too. 🙂

Perfect little retreat
VW-Type Campervan - Russet Electric Grass Pitch Dec 2023 What a fantastic place to stay with a brilliant farm shop. Very quiet, clean and had everything we needed. We will be back.

Great hosts, clean facilities and personal
Small Tent - Greensleeve Electric Grass Pitch Oct 2023 I stayed over for a single night on probably one of the worst days in terms of tent camping weather this year with high winds and constant rain. The pitch (Greensleeve) didn't flood and was well drained and more importantly for a tent, was well protected from the 35mph winds.
Ablutions were very clean with plenty of hot water & good water pressure as well. It's not a huge sprawling site, so peaceful and calm. There's a shared fireplace near the kitchenette/wash up facilities which I didn't use but looked great.
The hosts are very helpful and went the extra mile to help out with a piece of equipment I didn't have, which was much appreciated.
I'd definitely use The Hen's Den again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quaint & personal place to stay.

Peaceful stay in a fabulous orchard location
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Russet Electric Grass Pitch Sep 2023 The pitches are angled into the orchard and so you are surrounded by apples and greenery. There are only about five pitches, so there's no danger of feeling overcrowded.
We found our stay very peaceful and comfortable (loved the fact that the shower rooms were heated).

A totally relaxing site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Katy Electric Grass Pitch Sep 2023 A totally relaxing site. Private pitches with discreet clean shower/toilet block close by. Set in lovely apple orchards that happened to be ripe during our stay. Delightful countryside offering long walks for us and our dog off the lead. It was by far the most relaxing, quiet site we have stayed in and will definitely return if we decide to holiday in Devon in the future. Full marks to the owners.

Rustic and quirky site
VW-Type Campervan - Gala Electric Grass Pitch Aug 2023 Great rustic and quirky site set in an orchard. Super, if strenuous, walking along the coast to Teignmouth. Good pubs nearby. Friendly staff and lovely fresh eggs.
