About the site
Waterside campsites are amongst the most magical of settings for a night under canvas, and there are six bell tents for hire on The Island - each coming with a 400m2 pitch to use as you choose! You're very welcome to set up other tents and enjoy a stay with your family and friends. Sorry, campervans and caravans are not accepted. Your stay gets you a riverside pitch measuring 400 square metres with a 4m furnished bell tent included. Inside each is a double futon, carpets, rugs, cushions and throws. You're also equipped with a fire pit along with solar fairy lights inside and out. Bedding is not provided. Dogs are not permitted in the bell tents but are welcome everywhere else on your pitch. Please ensure that all cars and tents are within your own pitch. The aim here is to leave as little impact on nature as possible. BBQs and campfires are welcome so you can spend evenings toasting marshmallows over the flames while regaling your friends with tales from the riverbank. However, the site ask that campfires are only in the fire pits provided please. Given the wild nature of this place, a big part of the attraction here is getting out and exploring. It's a superb location for launching boats, kayaks and canoes into the Stour and venturing up or downstream. In late summer, it's a great spot for foraging, be those apples and cherries from the trees lining the trailway or bulging blackberries in the bushes that lead to the pub. It's a great spot for fishing and photography too!
