Lovely site, very clean with lovely little touches to the site like the coloured lights by the shower block, which all help to make it feel special. The staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful, we hope to come back.

We just enjoyed a lovely week at Hill Cottage Farm. The site was lovely, secure, clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful, the toilets and shower block were spotless and regularly cleaned. We also liked the fact that recycling was also available. The site has a nice playground for our 3-year-old and ample-sized pitches. We also tried the Thai kitchen takeaway located on-site, which is highly recommended too. Including the sunshine we had all week, we thoroughly enjoyed our camping week here.

Loved the site as soon as we got there. Loved the fact that the fully serviced pitches had hedges either side. We found it easy to see the new forest from the site. Also went to Bournemouth which we really enjoyed as never been before. We ate out all week, which was nice. Loved the local pub food was good. The staff were helpful. When our dog needed a vet, they helped us to find one. Have already planned to go again next year.

Really nice site. Good service to the pitches and really nice clean facilities. The team of staff are very friendly and very helpful. Some of the roads in the villages close to the campsite are quite narrow so care needs to be taken when towing.

Water and electric on each pitch in the hardstanding grass area. Clean facilities. Helpful staff. It has everything you need. Do check location as it's 30 minutes from Lyndhurst and near Fordingbridge. My brother was in the shepherd's hut and we missed seeing in the notes sent to us that there is no bed linen, though it says you have all the necessary things in there. Our fault as we should have read it, but just be aware. It also has car licence plate recognition which generally helps speed up entry and exit. Overall, a good stay. .

Easy to check in with the barrier lifting in and out and good spacious pitches, carefully placed. Showers and toilets very clean, helpful staff and overall a good vibe set in and around lovely woodland walks. Would definitely use again.

A lovely well-set-out campsite with high hedges giving pitch privacy. Modern clean shower/toilet facilities. The on-site Thai takeaway is very reasonably priced and the meals we had were very tasty. We will certainly stay here again when we want to stay in this area.

Shepard's huts were not worth the money for me

There were nice woodlands walk nearby. A clean and tidy site We had a hard, springy mattress that I could barely sleep on. The shepherd's hut was decent size but it was chucked into a corner next to the toilets and a big farm gate. Had no green space at all. When I visit a camp site, I would like to able to enjoy a nice green lawn in front. The camp management are strict on their restrictions. I saw 50+ signs not to park on the grass, orange cones and ropes everywhere. After all, one needs to park on a pitch and erect their tents.

Thank you for your review, Stefan. I am sorry you left disappointed, we will definitely look at the mattress. A shepherds hut has been situated here for over 20 years. We too are very frustrated with all the signs and ropes, which we had to put up as an emergency when we were forced to cancel all the grass pitches over the Easter holiday and beyond - due to the wet weather and the ground being sodden. These are a temporary measure to stop vehicles getting stuck until the ground dries out and we can re-open all the grass pitches.

Hill Cottage Farm is a lovely place to stay, location is perfect for exploring The New Forest. Everything on site is kept extremely clean, the showers are nice and warm! Staff are friendly and the little shop is great. Can’t wait to book again.

Very lovely site, you are able to walk straight from site into woodlands. Our stay was a very wet one, so the access path to woods and dog walk was incredibly muddy. Can't fault the cleanliness of the site it was beautifully maintained and the showers and toilets were very clean to a high standard. Our pitch was 4a, which was a bit tight getting in and out, but was sheltered from the very strong winds we experienced while away, as there were hedges around the pitch. Would recommend this site and it's one we would come back to.

We've just returned from a week's stay at Hill Cottage Farm campsite and loved every minute of our stay. The site and facilities were spotless. You could see the maintenance and cleaning was performed with pride. It was peaceful and a beautiful location, ideal for visiting the many, beautiful nearby locations in the New Forest. We stayed with our three children and dog and we all loved it. The play park was clean and fun. We wish there had been a little more to do on site for the young ones but that is not criticism, only a personal view. We would definitely recommend to others and we will be back!

We enjoyed our stay. It was what I was looking for to relax and take a break from work. The only issue I had is that the location does not offer many things - I knew that in advance of course. As a single mum, fishing is not my thing and I wish I could have rented some bikes from the camp site or somewhere in a walking distance to make it more interesting. Very clean toilet blocks, well maintained hut and very friendly staff.

Moors Valley Park is less than 20 minutes drive and offers plenty of cycle trails for all abilities as well as cycle hire and, for those with children, a play trail of large wooden structures to explore.

We chose this site as the reviews were very complimentary! We have recently purchased a campervan so needed to try it out just for one night! Really easy to book and good correspondence from the campsite. Easy check in and the receptionist was helpful with directions to the pub. Toilets and showers were clean and warm, which is what you need now there is a chill in the air. The upkeep of the grounds are very well kept and tidy . Can't wait to go back there and definitely for longer next time!
