2nd time staying there. Loved it. Gorgeous weather. Gorgeous beach. Great variety of food trucks with music on offer this time, which was great. Showers and toilets still need some love but doesn't stop us using it. Dog friendly.

First time staying at Waxham and I was very impressed with the site. Really good facilities! Crazy golf, 2 play areas, undercover seating and a communal fire pit. On site shop is handy. Campsite had a chilled atmosphere and was very friendly! Direct beach access is obviously a big plus and we saw lots of seals. The pitch was really good value for money! Pop up food trucks and cocktails were popular! The only negative was the shop opening times. We will definitely return!

This place is lovely. Staff are so helpful. Facilities are plentiful and clean. Best of all, you only have to walk over a sand dune to find yourself on the most beautiful quiet beach.

We loved it here and would highly recommend. Facilities dated hence the 4 🌟 rating but clean and fully functional with plenty of hot water. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, and reacted calmly and professionally during someone else having a meltdown in the guest services! Lovely beach a few minutes walk over the dunes. Excellent play area for the kids and crazy golf (chargeable £5.50 each). Visiting food vans and bar at weekends in the evenings and just eat deliver too if you don't fancy cooking. Motorhome pitch very roomy with all facilities needed nearby. We will be back 🥰

Poor greeting on arrival

I was aware from the booking that the last check-in was at 5pm. On the day I booked, I immediately emailed and phoned to discuss my late arrival, but received no answer. I tried again the next day and spoke with a friendly staff member. I explained I would be arriving at around 9:30pm and understood this could be an issue. I was told this was "no problem at all" and that I simply needed to make the night warden aware so he could expect me. No other warnings were given—nothing about not being let in or needing to ring ahead again if delayed. In fact, I only had the night warden's number because I specifically asked for it. We travelled up from London straight after work on Friday. Unfortunately, traffic and satnav issues delayed us by about 40 minutes. On arrival, I phoned the night warden as instructed and went to meet him at the service desk. What followed was honestly one of the most upsetting customer service experiences I've ever had. The night warden, a man in his mid-forties with dark hair was extremely confrontational, bully-ish and outright hostile. He was visibly shaking with anger and it honestly felt like he was looking to provoke me. When I greeted him he snapped, "No actually, I'm not alright. What time do you call this? The last check-in is at 6:30." I explained that I had already called ahead to arrange the late arrival and apologised for the delay. His response was that this was just another "sob story" he hears from "Londoners." Regardless of how he saw it, I was simply telling the truth. He gave a whole slew of prejudice against Londoners which he painted us with, shouting about how he was now in an impossible situation and how we were basically taking the mick with no regard to him. His attitude was so confrontational and unprofessional—far beyond what you'd expect from someone in a customer-facing role, felt more like a run in with a bouncer, I honestly felt like I had walked into a fight. He was full of this rage about having to let us in at that time. He was exasperated slapping the table as I explained our tent setup and travel (which he asked about), and made me feel like I was asking an unreasonable favour rather than arriving as an expected guest. If it was genuinely too late to check in, I would have preferred he stuck to his boundaries and simply said so, or called us—he had our number. Instead, we were made to feel guilty and ashamed. He instructed us to set up without any light, not just car light, despite many other tents and guests using lights. A kind neighbour camper offered us his torch, but I declined, worried the warden would further chastise us. In reality, the setting up took ten quiet minutes, and finding the pitch was no problem at all for him or the campers. What concerns me most is not just the warden's attitude, but what it reveals about the campsite's management. He seemed anxious—not only angry with me, but clearly fearful of complaints from campers or his superiors. If a member of staff is discharging this level of anger onto guests, it suggests they are unsupported and under unacceptable pressure. That points to a deeper issue in your management system. It's a real shame because the rest of the campsite was great—good location, etc although overly commercialised and the Norfolk cider from the shop was uncarbonated and not to my taste, perhaps others enjoy! Sadly, the Friday night encounter overshadowed the trip. I will be sharing this experience with friends and on review platforms unless I receive some response from management, because what happened was completely unacceptable. I would want to protect other customers from facing the same hostility. If you choose to support the night warden's position, I would remind you: I did everything reasonable to communicate my late arrival, as advised. It is completely unfair to be chastised and made to feel like I was taking advantage when I clearly was not.

Smashing campsite. Clean facilities and friendly helpful staff. A short walk to get onto the Norfolk Coastal Path and a wonderful, unspoilt, sandy beach.

We had 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The pitches are large and the overall area is clean and tidy (apart from some dog owners not clearing up their mess). The toilets and showers were kept clean throughout our stay. We have a motorhome so came with food for the 3 days but without a car the site is quite remote. Food vans do come to the site but are expensive, there is a horse van converted into a mini bar which serves a selection of drinks at reasonable prices. We will come back again.

Pitch backed on to the sand dunes with access to the beach and coastal footpath. The onsite woods were excellent for dog walking. Staff were cheerful and helpful and a lot of thought had gone in to the site. Excellent site for keen walkers or beach lovers.

Wonderful place. It was our first trip with a tent box, we found the place at the last minute. We drove for almost 4 hours but the price per night was very low and it turned out that we came to a wonderful place, clean, with beautiful views, wonderful and helpful employees, an ideal place to relax for the whole family and children. A place for relaxation and fun for the youngest. The sanitary facilities are simply unimaginable, clean, new and very well-kept. Easy access. We will definitely go back there again and stay longer to be able to visit the area. I recommend it to everyone.

The camp was very spacious and quiet. The water points for the Motorhome weren't working on 2 of the taps, so took my husband 3 goes to find one to fill up. We were near the toilets, that was good but would have been better if there had been a couple of showers as well in the block as the shower block is on the other end of the camp, being partially disabled meant I had to drive over there!

I stayed at Waxham sands for 5 nights in a standard tent, its an excellent location for going round Norfolk in that it is central so most things you might want to do are within range. In terms of physical location, it is amazing, rural and on the coast, any estimation of time to the beach is exaggerated as it is literally THERE and you can sit and watch seals to your hearts content! Facilities wise, things are as expected, nice showers, laundry, little shop, numerous toilet blocks and washing up stations - the bone of contention is the phone signal and WIFI which is patchy at the edges of the site but for me this was ideal paired with non-existent phone signal! You can get WIFI outside of the shop the majority of the time to set off maps and similar! Can't rate this place highly enough, will definitely return!

We were really happy with our stay here. Lovely informative staff, nice area and good price for staying in our campervan. The park was lovely for the kids, and the beach being a short walk away was perfect!! I'm quite funny about using public toilets etc but these were kept in a nice clean condition, and I had no issues there either. We will definitely be returning

I booked this spot because I love Horsey and the seals, so wanted to camp close by. Despite it being May half term, it was surprisingly peaceful and quiet on the site (I was travelling solo). The reception staff were very warm and helpful. I hadn't used my electric hook-up before, and they were lovely and helpful about it: reassured me that the on-site maintenance could show me how if I got stuck. Toilets and showers very clean and regularly maintained. Never ran out of loo roll! The pop up food and bar vans were a lovely perk too. Beautiful walks direct from the campsite onto the Norfolk coast path. 2 min walk to beach over dunes. Very family and dog friendly site. Even includes a doggy shower 'spa' area which is lovely! There is only one shower block, which was fine when I was there but for the size of the site, it could maybe do with another block especially in the busier Summer months. The showers don't open until 8am. I would have preferred earlier opening for the showers, but wonder if this might be set times for safety? That was my only slight niggle. This is a great site. For families, couples and solo travellers. I will definitely be returning in the future 😊
Great facilities, well maintained, but a bit packed in.

We visited on the final bank holiday weekend in May and it was our first large holiday park experience in our campervan. The park location was lovely behind the sand dunes and easy to find. Very smooth and easy check in as we driver in. The playground, mini golf and communal seating areas were a great addition and the quality of these spaces was brilliant - our 4 year old loved it, but was clearly enjoyed by older ones too. The large shower cubicles were great and clearly well thought about for families. They were very clean and well maintained. The only thing we would have liked is a few more of them ideally in another block the other end of the site, as at peak times they were often full and are quite a walk from the non EHU pitches, to find yourself then waiting. The toilet blocks again were clean & well maintained, we felt there were enough of these, but our only grumble was there was never any loo roll first thing in the morning which was a bit of a pain. The washing up sinks were very busy at peak times too, so queues often formed here, but again the quality of them was excellent. We really enjoyed our non electric pitch for the green space around and views of the sand dunes, however, the majority of EHU pitches looked really jammed in, down long rows of pitches and was not something we would have enjoyed. Whilst the park facilities are great to have, it’s clearly something you need to offset and balance with the busyness especially if you had one of the EHU pitches. For us we would only recommend non EHU pitches here. I’m sure some people love it, but it had packed out festival vibes and not something we would have enjoy whilst on a camping holiday. Our final feedback was with the rubbish disposal. Great to have large skips to cater for the mass of general waste, but recycling was not easily located nor at the refuse sites by the skips, so feel this could be improved upon as most people were throwing everything in the one place as the recycling wasn’t clearly marked or convenient to find. We probably would return, but would be quite specific on our pitch location!
Nice location but could be better

It's very close to the beach and there were seals, which was lovely. Unfortunately, there didn't appear to be any recycling (just a big skip for all the rubbish). The hot water in the bathrooms/washing up area was very hot and miss - showers were always warm though. There was also an issue with toilet paper - the toilets constantly ran out and were left without toilet roll for many hours.
