Revel in the peace and enjoy cooking over the campfire and stargazing on clear nights. Indoor dining and cooking are also well catered to on site.

About the site

Glamping at Calon Gypsy Wagons offers a haven for those who love the outdoors, in a tranquil setting. Guests are welcome to wander around this 15 acre working smallholding and meet the sheep, the cheeky Shetland ponies and the two gypsy cobs. Children can also collect eggs from the chickens and ducks on request. Whether you are using one wagon or taking a break with friends and using both, you will have exclusive use of this site. One wagon will accommodate two adults in the upper bed and a child in the 'cupboard' bed underneath - closing the doors is optional on balmy nights! However if you don't quite fit this criteria, please don't worry, there are plenty of ways to accommodate guests comfortably. All bed linen and towels are included and Welsh cakes and fresh flowers will be ready for your arrival. Outside you'll have a fire pit, just as is tradition for those in a wagon.

Site facilities include Cwtsh Calon which is a colourfully decorated summerhouse situated a metre or so from the wagons. It offers indoor dining facilities, all crockery and cutlery, and a camping two ring stove and grill, plus electricity. The space has 4G coverage as well as a selection of books, maps and information on local attractions, plus a shower and changing area. Water is from a canister with a tap just outside the door although there is a Belfast sink inside where you can do your dishes. A compost toilet is available in the field.

A set of beautifully romantic vardo wagons which include bedding, towels and a traditional double bed. There is space underneath this for a child under 11 to sleep. Inside they are decorated with seating and some storage space.

Things to do on site and in the Carmarthen area

With commanding views, many guests enjoy relaxing in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings on the site.

You're only a 30 minute drive from the stunning seaside town of Tenby, you can use the site as a base for exploring either the Pembrokeshire or Cardigan Coast.

This site is on Route 47 National Cycle Network track, so you'll be keen to hop on a bike and get exploring.

Laugharne, home to Dylan Thomas' boathouse and writing shed and the vast expanse of Pendine beach is within half an hour's drive.
