A hidden gem
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2024 A gem of a site. Tucked away down a small lane, this site was tranquil and offered extensive views over the landscape of the South Hams. The camping field was situated behind some agricultural buildings and was approached by a short shady drive.
There were the necessary basic facilities, spotlessly clean, a shed with a freezer (with some freezer blocks to borrow), and a 240v socket for charging phones. The site allowed BBQs (we didn't), and, I think, also sold charcoal.
We stayed for a week after the half term holidays, and were the only tent for some of the time. We were joined in the field later by another couple, and two families with kids camping together. The pitches are mown in a meadow, spaced a very log way apart, and offering various views. There was a shepherd's caravan to rent at the top of the field.
The site had an unusual arrangement of individual toilet/washbasin rooms, each with its own personal key. There were two spacious shower rooms with washbasin & WC, and unrestricted hot water. These are accessed with a key in a key safe by the door. The level of security is to prevent unauthorised camping.
The owner, Roy, was friendly, warm, and welcoming. He took the time to make sure we had all we needed. There was an outside washing up sink for campers. The only improvement I could see would be the addition of a small roof over the sink area against inclement weather.
The location is just south of the A38, giving easy access to most of south Devon. There was a faint background noise from the A38, but not at all intrusive. If you had kids who love the outdoors, this would be a good location to camp.
We had a great time, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Fantastic site with amazing views
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2024 Upon arrival we met with the site owner Roy who went over the use of facilities and presented us with a key to our own private toilet! Toilet and showers were immaculately clean (there are two showers, both with a toilet so great for people with young children). We had a choice of where we pitched up and chose one near a drinking water tap, of which there are several around the site. Pitches were spacious and well spaced from one another. The views were stunning and the site was spacious and just wild enough with flowers and meadow grass between the pitches to feel truly out in amongst nature! There was also a cute little shepherds hut for those who are more into the glamping way of camping. We were just sad we could only stay two nights, but coming from Plymouth this site would definitely go on our list for a return visit.

Brilliant
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Apr 2024 We had a lovely stay here for three nights, the toilet (allocated to you) was spotless and the shower facilities too.
In a great location with easy access to surrounding areas.
Would highly recommend, couldn't fault a thing!

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Grass Touring Pitches (Optional Electric) Apr 2024 Wonderful relaxing field with lovely views and a very nice host. Bathroom was spotlessly clean too. What more could you want!

Fantastic little gem
Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Hut (Dog Friendly) Apr 2024 Needed somewhere to stay near to Ivybridge and found the Shepherd's Hut almost by chance.
What a fantastic little gem of a hut. It's compact, but literally has everything you need, it was spotlessly clean and the host was extremely generous with the welcome pack and very helpful and friendly too. The hut has an electric heater plus a log burner so you'll never be cold and it looks out across the camping area and the hills beyond.
The shower and toilet are literally 10 strides away in a separate hut, but are yours alone and again, spotlessly clean. Shower is large with an endless supply of hot water.
My first stay won't be my last!

Easy wild camping
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Mar 2024 We turned up on a wet & windy bank holiday in March. We met Roy from the site, who was very helpful and found us a lovely spot out of the wind. Great, peaceful place to visit.

Lovely no frills site in beautiful countryside
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Sep 2023 This small site is set in a lovely rural location within easy reach of all the tourist spots (by car) in Devon and Cornwall. The facilities were spotless and we had a key to our own toilet. Most pitches are sloping to some degree but we didn’t find this a problem. Lovely, friendly owners. Would definitely use this site again.

My stay
Sep 2023 Just a lovely campsite to stay at. If you want peace, quiet & fantastic scenery, this is the place to go.
The facilities are fantastic and so clean. Never seen campsite facilities kept so clean. You have your own toilet with a key.
The owners are also lovely people, nothing is too much trouble.
Can't wait to go back.
