Great spot for walking trails

Our second visit, a well kept site with everything you could need. A beautiful spot for walking trails, pub and cafe close by.

Excellent

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Bank House Farm and we will definitely be returning! The showers and toilets are clean, with hot water, toilet roll and hairdryers. I never had to wait for a shower which was great. Great pitch size, with poles for clear markings. Pub over the road is a great bonus.

Good, but not picturesque

Top event field doesn't have designated spots, which meant that people parked their cars during our visit (in a busy week) in such a way to create some privacy. Very different from the more picturesque camp sites we've also encountered during our trip through the Peak District / Snowdonia. Facilities are clean, but I'm not sure why "facilities with 80-revival radio on 24/7" is a feature. :) Having said that, we could relocate to a pitch spot close to the river, which was honestly amazing. So, recommended if you can get such a spot, otherwise I'd prefer something slightly more scenic.

Campsite

Had lovely holiday, views amazing on campsite. Though, top field in a tent is very noisy due to lots of traffic, even during night-time. Toilets and showers, very, very clean, but the shower timer button should be set at a longer period of time as it goes off every 10 seconds.

Unfortunately I can't get the shower button to last longer than the 10 or so seconds (have been on to the manufacture and they can't help). Hopefully it won't put you off another visit. Nice campsite but avoid pitch 9

Quite a nice campsite, we were put on pitch 9 which I first thought was lovely as it was right next to the stream however, there was a strong smell of sewage which came and went every few minutes which totally spoiled sitting outside for. I spoke to reception who were already aware of the issue so was very disappointed that they still choose to locate people there despite the complaints. Other than this, the campsite was nice.

Excellent all rounder

We had an excellent stay. The owners of the campsite were so friendly, and very welcoming. The pitch was excellent, facilities well cared for and location fantastic - especially since it is right next to a good pub. Id love to come back.

Lovely campsite

Thoroughly recommend this site - Paul and his wife (Wardens on duty) were so helpful and couldn’t do enough to make our stay pleasurable. Great location for walking with our Labrador.

Highly recommended!

It was my first time camping in the Peak District and I did it solo. I pitched up on the meadow field overlooking the river and it was beautiful, It was so quiet and peaceful. The campsite was mostly families and wasn't over cramped, which was nice. It was great to have my own spot to pitch up along the river to have privacy. The facilities on site were faultless. Clean toilets and showers. Very friendly and helpful staff. I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough!

family stay at bankside farm

this was our second stay, and we will be back. there is a big difference between the various grounds, and the event field where we stayed this time - it not ideal in terms of the distance from toilets and the lack of shade. other areas are better located. I love it that there are fridges that guests can use. the site is clean and very well maintaned. the inn across the road was helpful for coffee in the mornings.

Good site in lovely surroundings

Bank house farm is a large site with good , clean facilities. The site suits all sectors of people . There is a large play area & small shop. The bus stopping outside the site is a bonus ,as is the pub across the road! Lovely surroundings with many varied walks in the area to suit all capabilities.

Fabulous few days

Fabulous! Beautifully clean, friendly staff. Everything was perfect Lovely area. Fab pub at the end of the drive and cycle track 5 minutes walk. Couldn't have been better

Lovely place, great facilities

First time camping for us and this was a great place for us to start. Bank house was a great campsite, good location for the Peak District. showers and toilets were great and really clean. staff were great.

Excellent campsite

We stayed here for two nights our first time out in our camper van they have everything you need regarding facilities and kept very clean great location for going on long walks with the dog we look forward to staying here again

Great set up.

Great little find, we did book an electric pitch but was moved to another as was a little busy, to a quieter non electric, no bother for 2 nights and appreciated the gesture as fab outlook and closer to facilities. Good for kids with large play field, pub and river. Would d stay again.

Great stay

Great facilities and plenty of toilets and showers. All very clean and tidy on every use. Great shop that sells everything you need if you forget anything. We camped on the top field but were unsure when booking whether the top field or meadow would be wiser. It turns out that the meadow appeared to be down the road from the camp site and therefore felt we had made a wiser choice. Nice to be able to choose where you camp. Friendly staff. The pub across the road was a great find and we enjoyed food and drinks each night. Highly recommend. Very close to all that the south area of the Peaks has to offer.

Great location couldn't fault it

Only stayed 1 night but was very impressed with the cleanliness of the campsite. Kathy & Paul were super friendly and even let us stay in the wrong pitch when we accidently pitched up in the wrong field. great spot for dovedale walk and routes into and out of hartington.

Highly recommend if you want a peaceful time away, everyone was very friendly and the views were fantastic. Facilities were very clean and maintained. Will definitely be staying again

Great sunsets

We asked for a hard standing fully serviced pitch and were allocated the only one without any grass area at all. Just a strip of green would have been nice.

Hi Susan, Thanks for your review, you were on pitch 23 which is Hardstanding with a lovely Grass arae at the back of the pitch, you would have seen the steps up through the opening in the wooden fence, so not sure why you did not use this area,Maybe next time you could have just spoken with one of us and we would have gladly assisted you, Glad you enjoyed our fantastic Sunsets,kind regards Wayne and the Team

Nice site to stay if you are not ♿ a bit hilly and the wife canot get to the facility's

beautiful site.

Visited in a campervan whilst my son and 2 grandchildren were in a tent. We had requested to be close together if possible and the staff had surpassed themselves with a gorgeous corner spot of grassed area - just perfect! Site was well looked after, well stocked shop, clean toilet/shower block lovely playing field for kids to play and a stream runs through the site where the kids had hours of fun with nets fishing. Quiet, friendly site, would definately recommend :)
